    Supercharger - Morgantown, WV

I thought that sounded like a throttled 75. I’m also a heavy Supercharger user—57.5K miles in about 2 1/4 years (including 6-7 trips to Morgantown every year from Columbus to watch the ‘Eers). I love my Tesla but honestly probably would never buy another because I feel I’m being penalized for...

    Supercharger - Morgantown, WV

Are you throttled? Why is 80kW the max for you? I have a throttled 85 and get 82-83 kW max now (used to get 95-97 at the peak).

Supercharger price hikes: what's your opinion?

$1.669/gallon at some stations here in Columbus Ohio. At those prices and in the winter cold, there is no cost benefit to driving an EV on a trip with the new price increases. It doesn’t affect me, but for those on the fence about stretching their budgets to buy an EV, this will definitely...

When to ask for Service for Poor Heating?

I have the same issue. My heater works great if I turn it to hi, but if I tick it back one to 81, it will often blow cool air. I usually have the AC off and use outside air (recirc off). Never thought of trying it with the AC and recirc on, but I will. I'm glad to see this isn't a problem...

    RIP Panoramic Roof... :(

I would never buy a car without a sunroof. I use mine all the time and almost always leave it vented in the summer to let heat escape. Hoping this option comes back. If not my current Model S will be my last new Tesla, and I never ever thought I'd say that.

    Trickle Charging to 100%

We were heading west away from the hurricane and had plenty of battery at 90%. Give it a rest--I was just giving background why the question even came to mind. If you don't have anything to add, don't post.

    Trickle Charging to 100%

I have a question for the battery experts on the forum that I don't ever recall being discussed. Last week we were on Hilton Head as the hurricane was approaching. The resort where we were staying had a 110 outlet available which we were able to use, and we had gradually charged to 90% during...

Received Email to Configure M3 but now Dual Motor Avail?

You have time—the full tax credit doesn’t expire until 9/30 at the earliest and probably not until 12/31.

    Supercharger - Dublin, OH

We’ve had cold, wet weather the last few weeks, so I doubt a lot of progress has been made. It was nicer today, and next week looks much better. I’ll swing by sometime soon to see what is going on.

Yea, that would fill a gap and help a lot.

Vip, what site are you using? I haven’t been able to find one giving the estimated time frames.

    Power Steering Recall Question

My S was built in August 2016, so it isn't currently subject to the recall. Does anyone know if Tesla made changes in the power steering system after April 2016 so that vehicles built after that date will never be recalled, or is this recall based upon the vehicles being 2 years old? Is it...

Front and Rear Lighted T Review/Columbus Installer

It was getting dark, and I was turning, so I just caught the lighted Ts out of the corner of my eye. They are sharp.

I may have seen you near Easton a few weeks ago or at least it was someone else with the lighted Ts. Just curious, what was the total cost?

    Invitation to configure

I just received my invitation this morning (live in Ohio). I am a Model S owner (purchased September 2016) and made my Model 3 reservation on 4/1. I initially planned to trade in the S on the 3, but now I'm not sure. I'm at least going to wait until the AWD version of the 3 comes out before...

    Disappointed with my S75

I have an S-75 and use lots of heat. I probably average 350-360 Wh/mi in the winter and 270-280 spring through fall. There is a huge difference in the winter, so hold on until the warmer weather comes before making a decision. The other issues can be corrected with a service center visit.

    Huntington, WV Supercharger

Thanks Darren--that's good to know. I've never gone through the mountains in winter before, and even though the evtripplanner site said it wouldn't be an issue, it's nice to hear confirmation from someone who has made the trip.

Thanks. Really wish they’d get Beckley powered up. From other posts, it seems to have been ready for quite some time.

Worried about round trip distance in the cold, please help

That sounds like a good plan. There is a Sandusky Supercharger on the 2018 planned Supercharger map, so hopefully this won't be an issue next year.
  24. D

Worried about round trip distance in the cold, please help

Should also also add--you're probably going to be driving through a lot of lake-effect snow, and that will significantly increase your Wh/mi.

Worried about round trip distance in the cold, please help

You could charge before or after meeting him (after would actually be slightly preferable since it would also warm you battery and car). You'll have more than enough charge to get to Sandusky, meet your friend, and charge afterward.

Worried about round trip distance in the cold, please help

I’d call to see if you could plug into one of the destination chargers in Sandusky. It shouldn’t take long to get enough charge to get you home especially if you have dual chargers. Even without, you should get around 35 MPH.

    Huntington, WV Supercharger

You didn’t by chance ask if they were going to Beckley next did you? I’m going to Florida down I-77 next week. I probably won’t have any trouble making the Charleston to Wytheville leg but would feel more comfortable knowing Beckley is online because I’ve always had to take the I-75 route in...

End of lease decision P85D help.

Will you sell your Model S or X once your Model 3 arrives?

When I purchased my s-75 about 15 months ago, my intention was to replace it with the 3. Now I’m not sure. I’m waiting for the AWD so I have a while. I’d love to have 320-330 miles of range instead of 240ish (guessing the AWD will be a little more efficient) but I don’t know if I want to give...

    Am I being throttled?

I started the thread back in August, and since it has come back to life, I thought I’d post an update. Short answer is no, this is not throttling. Longer answer – see below. I subsequently had the service center pull my logs which resulted in an answer that everything was normal. During...

    Financially Irresponsible or Worth It?

I didn't read through the entire thread, so if this option had been mentioned, I apologize. If you really want a Model S (and I would strongly suggest a CPO in your situation), determine the monthly cost difference between it and another option you'd consider and find a 2nd job that would cover...

    Supercharger - Charleston, WV

We stayed in the Charleston Courtyard (nice hotel by the way--would definitely recommend it) Friday night and let the manager on duty know that we stayed due to the Supercharger. I also let her know that people had posted about not being allowed into the restroom while charging. She said that...

    Am I being throttled?

TexasEV, although I didn't do an exhaustive search of all threads, I've seen many addressing slow supercharging rates but didn't see any where the charge started at a normal rate and dropped so dramatically almost instantly.

    Am I being throttled?

I have a 2016 S 75 with around 21,000 miles on it. I've had the car for about 10 months, so I've obviously done quite a bit of longer trips and used Superchargers and CHAdeMOs. I have no idea of the percentage of DC charging and AC charging, but I'd guess it has been around 50/50 or relatively...

    Autopilot punishment

I agree it's a pain, but all you have to do is take the next exit, stop, quickly turn off the car, and turn it back on. Your AP will be back. I've had to do it a time to two after speeding up to pass idiots who think the left lane is for driving leisurely and not for passing.

    Supercharger - Cambridge, OH

I just passed through Cambridge and believe this site may be up and running. I had to make a day trip from Dublin to SE Ohio and couldn't take the Tesla without this Supercharger, so I wasn't able to test the charger. However, the stalls are labeled and the power meter reads 1 KW. It is a...

    Supercharger - Charleston, WV

Villa, there are some Tesla owners around Charleston listed on Plug Share with HPWCs. You might want to get in touch with one of them as a backup plan if Tesla doesn't officially open the Supercharger before your trip.

    Super Charged Anxiety

As a fellow Columbus area Tesla owner, there are no Superchargers at the Tesla store in Easton. However, there are some destination chargers on the basement level of the nearest parking garage. Ironically, there are also some free ChargePoint CHAdeMO chargers maybe 20-30 yards from the...

Yes, thanks so much from another happy Columbus area Tesla owner.
  48. D

If you fast charge, Tesla will permanently throttle charging

SageBrush, you act as if time at a CHAdeMo is completely lost. Up until now, I've done a lot of CHAdeMO and Supercharging while shopping at stores I'd normally frequent even if I wasn't charging. There are also times I stop and plug in as I pass by on my way home to answer a few emails so I...

    Supercharger - Charleston, WV

For autopilot driving, I'd recommend US-33 over US-35, but there's not a huge difference. There is one portion of US-35 in Weat Virginia that is relatively narrow 2 lane road with a lot of truck traffic. The 2 lane portion of the US-33 route has very wide lanes with large berms and is fairly...
