Since the other manufacturers don't really seem to care too much about EVs so far I think it should have been a total # or % of EVs on the road for the cap. Otherwise BMW can basically do nothing until after Teslas credits have expired and then come in and have an advantage over the model 3 by...
I never said anything about not being able to afford the model 3. In fact I'm looking to be able to save a ton of $ between now and then and get a pretty loaded model 3. The thread is about whether someone buying a pre-owned tesla off a used car lot or private owner gets model 3 priority.
I wondered the same thing and kicked around the idea of buying a used S 60 for ~$50k but I would probably want to sell it when the 3 comes so decided to just keep burning fossil fuels until then (unless I can convince my wife otherwise)
Say no to vertical video! Also that sucks for him. Sounds like they were able to send it back though. That's rather embarrassing for Tesla if it left the line or SC that way.
No but we had the CC I wanted to use for the deposit get closed for fraud and I didn't have the replacement in time. I don't think it would have mattered though as it was a Discover and I don't think Tesla was accepting Discover anyway.
I certainly hope they don't do most of these. I've read the LTE is free for 4 years and then Tesla is supposed to start charging the S/X owners as well. Not sure a) that's true and b) they have or will do it. As for the super chargers I don't see that happening. It'll either be a one time cost...
Yes but we know nothing beyond that. I think what he is trying to figure out is what the demo cars did so we can maybe draw some conclusions on what the AWD cars might be.
I wondered this as well. They said they would ship based on geography and options. Maybe they'll invite everyone that reserved in a region at the same time? Otherwise they have no idea whether I plan on getting a $60k model 3 or a $35k model 3.
Lol the gas mileage isn't fantastic it's horrendous. The car is awesome though. Love the sportiness and it being NA and no turbo lag. Plus like you said they can be found pretty cheap compared to the other luxury sports cars.
14 miles isn't going to be enough. The only one on the list that interests me would be a used S 60 but my wife has talked me out of it :)
I'm currently driving a 2011 Infiniti G37x so it will do until the ≡ arrives, plus I just paid it off so it'll give me that time to save up for the ≡
I know I will want everything under the sun but I will be trying to stay below $60k. I will wait to decide what is in and what is out when that time comes.
Speaking of Tesla clothing. I need a new hat but want one with a 'normal' bill and in L/XL. Seems they are all sold out on the site and they only had small size in the store. What gives?
That isn't it. Those are bootleg products. I already have a shirt and a sweatshirt, which was purchased before this token was even mentioned. I'm wearing the sweatshirt right now actually.
I'm not really even sure if I want supercharging as I don't think I would use it that much so having it 'capable' with a pay per use would probably be the best option for me, other than of course it just being 'free'.
Location: Denver, CO (In store order)

Did you already have a mytesla account? I had one already and the guy said it should link up based on the email address. I haven't checked...
While I do think it will look similar in the final design I think its silly to cancel now, things COULD change. But if they want/need their $1000 back then more power to them.
I kind of read it to mean standard as in free but the autopilot def sounds like the hardware will be standard but you will need to pay to activate it. Just my 2 cents.
I'm going on almost 5 hours from the time I registered in Colorado and nothing but the CC pre-authorization. I'm not worried though. Also, I talked to the guy and asked him about the mytesla and he said it had nothing to do with the initial order but if the email was the same as the mytesla...
It could have a $0 credit and I'm still buying it. I was just surprised to see so many people, especially since most of my friends/family don't seem to share the same passion. Apparently I need new friends/family :)
Sounds about the exact same as my experience at park meadows. I was shocked to see so many people there. Great news for Tesla, not so much for the $7500 credit.
Yeah it's amazing to read some of the replies this has gotten. People actually think Elon didn't know it would be popular? The production plans won't be changing due to this poll or this tweet. He knows exactly what he is doing.
That is if they offer all of the upgrades that were on the S/X. Elon has said it wouldn't have all the bells and whistles but didn't really say they wouldn't be an option. I do assume the vehicle they will bring to the reveal will be highly optioned though, most car companies don't show off...
I doubt we will find out any pricing other than Elon mentioning the already known base price on 3/31. This is simply a prediction thread for whenever the pricing comes around.
Just wondering what everyone thinks a 'fully optioned' Model 3 will sell for. I've seen predictions in other threads but not a thread with just price predictions. Poll is for USD (as that is what I'm familiar with)
For those that have been through this. How long before we get an invite to design are the prices available? I'd like to be able to know what I can/can't afford prior to them saying go. As much as I'd love to tick all the boxes that just won't be happening.
A used 2011 Infiniti G37x for me. My loan ends March of 2018. Hopefully I'll have the M3 by then. I've found out that I like a smaller sedan. My wife has the big ICE SUV to use for the kids and road trips. I normally drive my car about 30 miles a day.
I've managed to stay away from the Model S test drive, mostly because I know I'll want one right away. Actually I already do. I have driven a Volt and probably would have purchased one but my wife and I felt the interior felt cheap.
I stopped by last weekend and was told the mall doors open at 9am and Tesla doors at 10 but with the new information from the invites saying all reservations will start at 10am PST sounds like they won't be taking orders for an hour? I don't see this going well. I will be there sometime around...
I'm not necessarily a fence sitter. I know I want the Tesla and I wanted the 40 kWh size but I'm unable to order one currently due to some financial considerations (wife is having a baby and taking 6 months off, meaning no income for 1/2 the year). My plan was to put in my reservation later...
I've been talking about the S pretty much non-stop lately because I want one but can't quite afford one yet. On Wednesday at dinner there was one parked right next to my wife's car at dinner. So if you drive a Blue S in Aurora, CO you made my night.
