Deposit placed today, site says deliver late March - email confirmation says late Feb

Girl at the SC told me she confirmed late March. Oh well, wishful thinking. It's all good, gives me more time to get electric ready and it will be just in time for my birthday! Wife said she'll put a bow on it in the garage for me. . .

    PA best insurance rates?

I'm doing the same research. Be sure to search Geico on this site - a few people have had issues. So far I'm leaning towards USAA.

Loan options - invest more or pay more down?

Agreed. Unfortunately, everyone's rates are moving up. Best I'm seeing now is Energy FCU (1.11%, but a max of $70k.) Otherwise, seems the best rates are closer to 2%. Alliance is at 1.85% (If it's the same Alliance you meant - lots of them out there! https://www.afcutx.com)

Loan options - invest more or pay more down?

If you're getting a loan for less than 2%, I would put NOTHING down. Surely you can invest that down payment and make more than 2%. If you borrow $120k and put nothing down, with a rate of 1.99% for five years, the interest over the life of the loan will cost you $6168. If you borrow $120k...

Yeh, I was thinking the same thing. . . Will be curious to see what I hear this week. Thanks all!

Deposit placed today, site says deliver late March - email confirmation says late Feb

Here's an odd one. I placed my deposit today (YAH!) for my P85D. Design studio says late March, when I placed the deposit, the delivery location and timing said late March. Received my order confirmation email and it says late February. Has to be a mistake. I did NOT confirm yet, so two...

    Energy Federal Credit Union

Maybe taxes, tags, title, etc. All those extra costs. The purchase price is $120k, so if they're basing it on that. Sales tax in PA is 6%, so an extra 20% is high, but I guess you could chew it up on stuff. Destination fees as well?

Can't wait to see these races after the full potential of the P85D is unlocked!

Business Insider issued a story today about the high cost for Tesla repairs

Who is it with, if I may ask? I have an agreed value policy on two other cars I have, but those aren't daily drivers. . . They wouldn't insure my Tesla for me.

Does anyone have long-term energy data measured at their electric panel?

Tell us more about this data logger. . .

    Energy Federal Credit Union

Energy FCU (I was just rounding the 1.11% to 1%.)
  12. P

    Energy Federal Credit Union

I reached out to Mary @ Energy earlier this week and heard back from her - "The lowest rate is 1.11% for 60 months with a maximum amount of $69,999.99." So sounds like the .61% is gone. 1.11 is still great, but disappointed with the $70k max. I'm not willing to put that kind of money down...

Does anyone in the (general) Philly area have grey seats and black headliner?

I'm close to pulling the trigger on this color combo, but since the black headliner is relatively new (Or so I'm told), I've not been able to find a car that has this combo (And my girl at the local Tesla SC is checking the service bays each morning!) Anyone have this combo and willing to let...

Check my math - guaranteed value and TCO

Would you make the same argument for a P85 vs a P85D? I've seen several private sales of 2012 P85 cars that were 65-70% of estimated residual. Granted that's only 2.5-3 years, but I was surprised to see those numbers.
  15. P

Check my math - guaranteed value and TCO

My data is just sitting in an Excel sheet. But here's the basics - If we assume a .61% loan for five years from Electric Credit Union, I'll have paid $105,556 over four years between principal and interest. Assume the pay-off of the note to be about $23,670. Electric for me over four years...

Questions about business lease/purchase of MS - how do big businesses do it?

Thanks for the info. Good to know. But - you mention getting the first three years on lease and not worrying about keeping track of mileage. "Technically" aren't we supposed to track mileage if the business is covering it, unless of course we're 100% using the car for business (And even then...

Why do people think Recaro is making the Next Generation seats?

As my rear seats will mostly be used by kids, I could care less. But I WOULD expect a discount if the rears are not going to happen. I can't imagine the entire cost of the upgrade was only for the fronts.
  18. P

Next-gen REAR seats no longer available for new orders, please post feedback on yours

Anyone else notice the Design Studio no longer has next gen rear seats? Maybe this is in another thread (Buried deep about the next gen seats), but I can't find it. Was playing with the design studio today and when you switch to next gen seats, the rears don't change. I was in a MS last week...

Questions about business lease/purchase of MS - how do big businesses do it?

So I've been reading about leasing and how that works with taxes (Through a business, etc.) Currently, I probably drive 60% business/40% pleasure (I drive 9k miles a year right now). I don't expect it to change much, other than pleasure probably going up for obvious reasons! Lease payment...

Questions about business lease/purchase of MS - how do big businesses do it?

So not to beat a dead horse, but wondering if anyone has some insight on a slightly different topic. First off, I'm a small business owner. I've never leased a vehicle because, well - this will be my first vehicle I purchase while owning my own business. But I've never done it personally...

Latest Supercharger dots for 2015 and 2016

No argument there. So I'll change up my "theory" slightly - Tesla knows where its cars "live" at night. . . Again, not perfect, but I'm sure they're concentrating on where the most Teslas are.

    Interior pictures with gray seats

I was wondering about that. Personally, I don't think I'd want grey carpet - that would be a nightmare to keep clean!

Latest Supercharger dots for 2015 and 2016

Not to get all big brother, but I HAVE to imagine that Tesla is tracking cars to see what's driving where. Purely a guess (And not sure if it's been debated before.) If that's the case, they know exactly what cars are driving through that area and whether it's worth it or not (By whatever...

    Interior pictures with gray seats

Did you ever seal or protect the seats? I'm hearing great things about GTechniq L1, but you'll obviously want to clean or get your seats cleaned before using. I'm a black leather guy normally, but considering the grey, so. . . Keeping an eye on this one!

Latest Supercharger dots for 2015 and 2016

I did look at those - they're good, but not good enough (For me.) I'm trying to get closer to see what the plans are. In the PA and NY area, where we frequently drive, there are several very close together, so it's hard to get any real detail. I know these are obviously PLANNED and not firm...

Latest Supercharger dots for 2015 and 2016

Wish we could zoom in on the 2015 and 2016 maps or get better coordinates or something to see where they THINK 2015 and 2016 will really have SCs.

Check my math - guaranteed value and TCO

Surprisingly. . . A $122k P85D vs a $52k Audi S4 works out to (For me and my low mileage driving) $1.46/mile for the Tesla, and $1.08/mile for the Audi S4 over four years. Monthly cost for Tesla (Loan, maintenance, etc.) comes to $1096, while the Audi is $811.26. I need to do more driving...

    PA best insurance rates?

I don't have a Tesla (yet), but asked my Allstate girl today what the numbers would look like. $4k for a year. I'll be switching. . . Have a quote from USAA for a little more (Like $20/mo more?) than what my 2006 TL is costing me now.

    Tesla S Insurance

Late to the thread, but. . . I just spoke with my Allstate rep. Perfect driving record for all of my driving career. Been with Allstate since day one. I've yet to find someone that (normally) can beat their rates. I was quoted $4k for the P85d for a year. I did an online quote with USAA...

    Who is Leasing their P85D?

Can you guys doing the "business lease" give a little more info? I've seen Tesla talk about their business lease for a while, but really haven't found many details, other than it's now in PA (Which is wasn't initially.) I've never leased a vehicle. . .

Check my math - guaranteed value and TCO

I think I figured out one piece of the missing puzzle. The "value" of the money. For the sake of argument, let's take a "normal" car at $50k and do the same calc - Normal car cost: $50,000 Sales tax: $3000 Loan amount with nothing down: $53,000 Monthly payment (1.61%): $919.96 Total...

Check my math - guaranteed value and TCO

First post, been lurking for a while. Trying to make the numbers work to pull the trigger on a P85d! Anyway, been looking at TCO for a P85d over four years and eight years (I keep cars for a good while, but also not sure I'd keep a Tesla for eight years - would probably need to upgrade!) Then...
