Saved 26 pounds with new Pulse light weight wheels on the P90D

Nice looking car, but like AWDtsla said, if they aren't JWL/TUV certified for the Tesla's weight, it may not be strong enough for the car. .

(Reported on 12/26/2015) 11+ car wait at Tejon Ranch!

Where could they possibly put 10 stalls at Buttonwillow?? There's NOTHING there!! Last time I was there, it as Summer and a car hit a power line pole and the whole town was dark for almost the entire night. Imagine if something like that happened and you were planning on charging there!! .

    Claying before waxing?

It really depends on how much time you have. If claying is pretty fast, but polishing can take a while. Once you've polished, you just stripped off any wax/sealant you have on the car, and now you HAVE to put some sealant/wax on (or both if you're really OCD).

    Driver Profile not key specific???

For the mods, why is it this response kept, but all the others cut out? Doesn't seem like you're trying to diffuse the situation then. As for the "joke," I totally missed it since the emoji looks more like a :/ to me than a wink, if that's what you meant. Maybe the emoji's need an update. .

Next Gen Seat Heaters - Worthless

Too bad they couldn't figure out the front of the seat gets cold too. In some Tesla board room: "lets be an innovator, and not warm the front half of the seat. NO ONE ELSE DOES THAT!!" .

Next Gen Seat Heaters - Worthless

Not sure what your point is, but do you really think Recaro just makes a seat and Tesla just takes whatever Recaro gives them? There is NO WAY IN HELL, Tesla didn't specify EXACTLY what they wanted in that seat. Another example is Brembo brakes. Do you really think they're all made to the same...

Next Gen Seat Heaters - Worthless

Credit goes to musicous here: Infrared Camera view of Winter Package (Seat/Steering Wheel/Windshield Heaters) The seats seem to have a heating element all the way close to the front of the thigh section but I sure don't feel it. The seat bottom is also now nearly as warm as the back. But I'm...

Response from Tesla: Thank you for reaching out to tech support. At this time, there isn’t a way to do this from the app, but I will submit your suggestion to our feature request team. Sincerely, .

    20" Aftermarket Wheels

I wonder if the TSW wheels are TUV certified for the Tesla? It's a good sign they are TUV on at lease some of their wheels. TSW Alloy Wheels announces TÃœV approval I couldn't find any certification info on NICHE wheels, but I believe I read they are JWL certified. .

Blind spot monitoring in side mirrors?

To have your mirrors adjusted properly, you should NOT be able to see the side of the car. You should need to move your head 2 inches to either side the see the side of the car... if you really want to make sure it's still there. If you have your mirrors like this, there is essentially no blind...

    Driver Profile not key specific???

I'm just happy to see I'm not the only one who feels a car at this price point should have this feature. Is there some formal request process to ask Tesla to consider adding this feature to the app, or if possible the keys? Thanks for the feedback from everyone.

    Driver Profile not key specific???

I'd like to hear how I'm suppose to get in the car to select my profile when I can't get in under my wife's profile? Again, if there was a button to select profile on the door or at the seat, like other premium cars, I could just push that and this thread wouldn't exist. I don't mind doing that...

Ended: $2K Off Instead Of $1K From Current VA & OH Owners, Confirmed

Anyone else pick up their car with the $2,000 incentive? They took $1,000 off the price of the car, but for the other $1,000, the took it off the doc fees. Is it really $1,200 for doc fees normally??? That seems like a LOT. .

Like I used to do with my Acura 20 years ago??? Really??? WEAK SAUCE HERE... :sigh: Absolutely. So what's your point?? :sigh: again. Actually, I close the lid when I'm done. It's actually her car most of the time, but she'd prefer I drive when we go out together. It's PATHETIC how the Tesla...

    Driver Profile not key specific???

The delivery guy said the driver profile is not key specific? Why is that a big deal? I'm 6'4" and my wife is 5'6" How am I suppose to get in the seat after opening the door? I've got the app on iOS and don't see anything there. My Honda minivan has profile specific keys!! I hope I'm missing...

Best Aftermarket 20" Wheels Similar to Turbines

TOTALLY AGREE. The "Tesla Tax" is up there with the "Porsche tax" and WAY more than "BMW tax" and even more than "//M tax" for BMW M cars. Is this a serious statement? Or are you clowning?? SAE standards is better than nothing, but JWL or TUV testing/certification is the gold standard for...

FDA approves Laser Headlight, when will Tesla have it?

Self leveling isn't only on high end cars. It's even on Honda's with HID. They work great. You don't even notice they're working. The light is just pointed where it's suppose to be pointed. I'm actually shocked cars can have HID and not have self leveling. You must have driven cars with...

Why doesn't Tesla sell an option that fills the "frunk" with a battery for more range

That is true for now, but keep in mind VW also owns Audi, Prosche, Bently and they have a ton of money, despite some SERIOUS fines/lawsuits that will come soon. I could easily see VW producing a pretty vast network for all their brands to use. It's just a matter of time when they decide to get...

Will Supercharging shorten the battery life?

I guess the other question is, how "full" does one charge when using an SC. I would imagine charging to 80% wouldn't be that bad, but going to 90+% might cause some (slight) damage. .

Tesla 4 year service plan - do we need it? Is it worth it?

The only extra maintenance that a BMW owner should consider is an extra oil change between the ridiculously long 15,000 interval. Having said that, many people have done an oil analysis after 15,000 miles and the oil is pretty much done, but no damage done to the engine. My buddy has a 2004 M3...

Tesla 4 year service plan - do we need it? Is it worth it?

I still didn't pay anything when I went it. BMW's are comparably priced to competitors, but they don't offer "free" maintenance. Tesla charging $600 for essentially an inspection is RIDICULOUS. Most dealers are more than happy to do a FREE inspection so they can find stuff wrong with your car...

Tesla 4 year service plan - do we need it? Is it worth it?

BMW M5. ZERO Maintenance cost for 4 years or 50,000 miles. Similar cost, but MUCH better lease rate too. ;) I think the OP just wants to know what EXACTLY do you get for that $600 inspection?? There are those out there who actually can do simple work on our cars... even $70-120,000 cars. .

Tesla 4 year service plan - do we need it? Is it worth it?

Did they have to repair anything? There's no way it really took them that long to do an annual inspection on a car. It takes a good mechanic maybe 45 minutes to inspect a car to clear it for running on a track, and that includes the time to get it up on a lift and getting it off the lift. .
  32. A

Tesla 4 year service plan - do we need it? Is it worth it?

Can anyone specify what exactly is done during these annual services?? And what happens if you don't do them? I guess part of that question depends on the first question. Dealers always have theses huge service plans and most are nothing more than inspections. At least with ICE, you get an oil...

Using UMC vs HPWC for all charging at home

    Painting brakes what color?

Plastidip can take that kind of heat? Granted the brakes really don't get much of a work-out if the driver is going for efficiency but the calipers will still get pretty hot. .

Let's be honest: 691HP in an ICE is Equivalent to 463hp in an EV

    Which Lug Wrench and Jack

Here's Harbor Freight's Black Friday add. There's a low profile floor jack on the front page- it looks to be steel, so it's going to be heavy but solid. There's a torque wrench and air compressor on the second page. On the third page, there's a simple air compressor hose or a wall mount hose...

    Which Lug Wrench and Jack

Don't waste your time with those scissor jacks. I got an aluminum jack at Costco for around $100 or you can find something at Harbor Freight. You can also get a 1/2" torque wrench there too for around $30 if you're only going to be using it occasionally. The Tire Rack jack is very solid but it's...

So it sounds like the cars are still coming from the factory with crappy alignment. It sucks you have to pay another $100 to get an alignment after picking up the car. As a side note, I try to keep track of inner wear due to camber on my cars, and then flip the tires around on the wheel to...

But it did come with instructions. Just because you're not competent to do the job, doesn't mean someone else isn't capable of doing the job. The instructions should be out there for people to see if they want to change the fluids themselves, or a shop should have the instructions to see if they...
