for some reason, this just flat out disturbs me. cars have issues but having a unexpectedly door pop open is not something you think you would see in this day and age. i would imagine a handle failure in a regular car would fail close and not allow the door to open; if not, it should be mandatory.

For a while, Tesla has been claiming they were either production constrained or battery supply constrained. Their actions with this program and coming out with lower margin vehicles seems to contradict these claims.

Did you read the article? He did do a recommended re-calibration which did show and "increase and recovery" in lost range. The amount or range increase was deceptive because the amount of energy extracted from his battery showed very little improvement.

I think you're missing the point of the article. His point was that you can't tell if you have degradation from what is showing on your screen. The miles shown for him was different from what he was able to extract from his battery.
