New model Y seven seater picked up on 04/09/2021. Anyone know what the cup holder metal ring is about? My older 2020 model Y did not have this ring in the cup holder.

This is not always the case. I’m on my 4th Tesla, and I received a VIN on the website but no email for my Model Y 7 seater. Would be great if they did send an email in all cases, but they don’t.

Do you recall if the 2nd row seats in the 7 seater any more or less comfortable compared to the 5 seater? I am interested in any comfort changes for the 2nd row in regard to thinner cushions or other material changes outside of the sliding rails.

I had to look it up too, so don’t feel bad. The design is not nearly as intuitive on the X as it is on the 3/Y, which is on Tesla. Once you figure it out as mentioned above, it’s easy. But on the 3/Y it’s easy to find without having to read the manual or googling it.

For anyone who traded in a Model 3, or added to their Tesla garage family: Do your existing Model 3 floor mats (factory or aftermarket) fit in your Model Y? Interested in wether or not the 1st row and 2nd row fit either close or exactly. I assume frank and trunk don’t fit at all, so ignore those.

That “crazy orange color” when wet also occurred on my model 3. Interesting if they added different material to the glass roof of the model y to alleviate that odd (not bad) phenomena.

Did you model Y come pre-tinted? That white one has some decently dark tint on the 2nd row, whereas the model 3 I have came with no factory tint difference between 1st and 2nd row I’m hoping to hear it came tinted from Tesla, rather than having to get it tinted aftermarket.

That’s a pretty fast ramp up, from zero to 100k production. Would be awesome for EVs I’m general if they pull that off, but in all reality that is way to optimistic and we’ll likely never see one in a residential driveway sooner than a few years.
