I put E revision cameras in my ‘19 to resolve the glare from the repeater indicator making them completely useless at night. They work great.

They’re still doing well. It’s in the 10-20”F range here now, but there hasn’t been any real snow or ice yet. I’m anxious to see how they do in those conditions as well. UPDATE #3: 7/25/22 I continue to be impressed with these tires. We took a 1000 mile trip over summer vacation in June. No issues at all to report. Just smooth, quiet cruising and competent handling of wet and dry roads. I’m really starting to believe that these tires are a great purchase.

Mine just started squeaking like crazy. Ironically it started doing it immediately after they performed a proactive reseal of the ball joints with urethane. I’d never had any noises prior to them doing that. I have another service scheduled now, I guess we’ll see if it ends up getting delayed.

UPDATE #2: It turns out that my car did have some toe-out issues in the rear. Hopefully now that everything is aligned within spec it will prevent these tires from becoming cupped. The tires continue to do well. I should mention that they do have a little bit of a rim protection rib on them...

UPDATE #2 5/23/22 Longer trip today. 72 degrees, no precipitation. 76 mile trip, 90% highway at 70-75mph, fairly hilly terrain, A/C at 68 degrees. 258Wh/mi

$595 shipped for the 19" from Walmart.com, believe it or not. The 18" are like $20 more each for some weird reason.

I had considered the WR G4's, but it seemed like overkill since I have Hakkepelitta R3's for winter. I will say that Nokian's vehicle selector on their website doesn't always turn up all the options for a particular vehicle. I had to search by tire size. They do have them in 18" for Model 3.

I will try to update this periodically. Was there any other indication of your toe issue other than the cupping? Were they toed in or out? I may have to look into an alignment specifically for that reason to prevent it from happening to these tires. Tesla Service was actually who alerted me that...

I wish they would implement a 'time before auto-lock" setting. I've lost count of the number of times that I've gotten out of the car, walked around the rear to get to the right rear door to get my son out only to have it auto-lock right as I reach for the door handle.

Hankook is also releasing the Ventus ION series tires sometime this year, as well. All-season, summer, and winter variants. No real details on them yet that I've found though.

Hakkapellitta’s are great winter tires. I imagine the new R5 can only improve on what was already a great tire. It looks like there’s an R5 EV version with acoustic foam, too.

I just installed these yesterday. I love my Hakkepelitta R3 winter tires so I figured I'd give these a shot. Pretty impressed so far.

After some shopping around, I got mine from Walmart.com believe it or not. All four 19" for $595 shipped. Mounting and balancing was $120 at my local shop down the road. so all in all I'm pretty happy.

I am simultaneously completely amazed and deeply saddened by the Herculean efforts I see in this thread for working around Tesla’s truly pathetic implementation of an MP3 player. They should hire you guys to get this ridiculousness fixed once and for all.

Mine does this too. Service Center told me it’s because of the high torque that these cars produce. I thought that was an interesting variation on the standard “it’s within spec” response. Still annoys me to this day, though.

That’s a good point. Honestly, I’m more worried about the generic, unbranded amp that’s included with this setup. I think I’ll end up going the DIY route with a better quality amp.

So, if you order the professional version of this with the DSP amp and the subwoofer, does that mean that all of the disabled factory speakers are also powered by the amp along with the subwoofer? Doesn’t seem super clear on the website. I am also curious how good that amp is. The wattage specs...

Bass is omnidirectional and usually mono. Most other car stereo systems and home theater systems only have one subwoofer. It’s possible to have more than that, but usually for volume, not stereo.

I put Hakkepellitta R3’s on mine for the winter. Fantastic winter tires but they are definitely much squirmier feeling and darty in the dry than the stock all season Continentals. The tread blocks on them are huge by design and contributes to that feeling. I think once you’re not on winter...

Mine has done this since it was first made available. I have to switch over to Streaming or Careoke once or twice before Spotify finally loads anything. I really hope they revamp their implementation of it, it’s barely functional, and the layout/organization is pretty awful. Albums not sorted...
