Tesla own body shop vs Tesla approved repairs in London

I had some work done under insurance by a Tesla approved company (Tesla didnt offer an in house service)and I had to use one many miles away - there aren't many capable of working with aluminium chassis and the HV system. If it's just a bump - unlikely that it will be an issue. If its is a...

Is it ok to supercharge more than one time in a day?

It’s fine. I had a model x with free supercharging. Tesla published data showing supercharging makes no difference to battery health or degradation. My colleague would supercharge two/three times per day. In four years he covered around 100,000 miles. I did 36000. I supercharged once a week...

    For anyone considering a lease...

I am on my second Tesla. The first was on a PCP contract - so technically - financed - like a lease for my accounts - but I was the owner. This time - I just leased it. Still only me driving - BUT - the lease company is technically the owner. That means that Tesla limit information to me (as...

    osprey now £1/kWh

I recently changed my home tariff. Settled on an EV special rate - otherwise it was £0.72/KWh. Domestic doesn’t pay VAT. Commercial does. So before discount it is £0.86. Add infrastructure costs for the company and a little profit - £1 seems about right!

    osprey now £1/kWh

Use Bonnet. Still at £0.50/KWh and can be as low as £0.40/KWh. Multiple charger networks.

Brand new Model Y won't accept Tesla Wall Connector?

Engineered safety is overly generous for a common and repeating defect. A defect which thwarts the intention of all that engineering! Tesla can do better.

Tesla adding powered frunk to Model Y?

Dot hold your breath. Soft close doors for M£ and MY would be nice - or a powered door function like the X. I don't see Tesla adding what it doesn't need to for a while yet - so I wont need retro fit because by then I'll be into a another car!

My 2020 model S with free unlimited charging was just declared totaled by my insurance, is there anything I can do?

There were some DIY builds that used salvage teslas and they got free SC. Maybe that’s a reason too. But I worked out when I lost my model x the free SC was worth around £1100 per year for me. That capitalises to around £10,000. Ask your insurance to cover that loss too.

Recommendation for skin protection without tinting the windshield

Glass doesn’t pass much UVA. https://www.teslaoracle.com/2021/09/18/tesla-shares-its-glass-technology-that-makes-it-quieter-tougher-and-safer-from-uv-rays/

Windshield tinting for heat rejection without rainbow effect?

Nano ceramic is non reflective. But heat rejection is built into the glass already.

Rear USB C Ports not aligned

But that’s a usba. Won’t fit the new cable. And that port is used for sentry mode. Better to use a plug in 12v socket charger

Are seat heaters more efficient than AC Heat?

Aside from efficiency - which is significant in terms of energy drain, seat heaters do not warm the floor/feet/ankles. So wrap up warm

Model x 5 Seats - Boot Liner with side covers

Hi I got one from Boot Buddy - and since the lease is up on my X - its up for grabs if you are interested. You can see it on the Boot buddy. I also had a rubber liner mat (the hard liner is slippery - the neoprene type mat makes it grippy. And I had the base in two parts - so I could get to...

    Caraoke Not Working

I have a mid-2018 MX - should be ok - and I still don't have it. And tesla were doing MCU upgrades for older cars - you should ask!

    Caraoke Not Working

No. And I just got the car back from the shop. Tesla engineers say a few vehicles have this - a work in progress. Patience was requested. Thinking of calling the leasing company and asking them if they have any patience for the next payment...

    Caraoke Not Working

Yep - seems about right. I updated to V.10 on my X about 3 days ago - then the car went into service for some fixes (Charge port, gurgling media sounds, blank batery screen. All fixed plus a firmware update then reload of software V.10. All great - but no theatre mode. Called Tesla support -...

    Load capacity seems low...

Looking at new tyres so just researching - took a snap of my tyre tag in the door post: Total load of luggage and occupants not to exceed 858 Ibs. Imagine 5 adult men - say the local football (US) or Rugby club (UK)... that's the load capacity exceeded right there - and they don't have their...
