Show off your aftermarket Model X wheels...

Thanks. I have always liked the factory 22s for the X (old and the new ones). But, i like this design a little better :) .

Show off your aftermarket Model X wheels...

From my initial observations, looks like the range did take a good amount of hit (~15%). I will have to go and check again. My wheels are about 32 lbs (F & R), which is about the same weight as the factory 20s; according to Tsportline, the factory 22s are 36 and 41 lbs I believe. But, the flush...

Haha; yep; the Michelin 4S tires were $2,562 shipped from Tirerack ;). But, not many options in those sizes, and they are good handling tires with decent tread-wear mileage. I also really like the sidewall design. Couple more photos in different angles to see how the flush, wide fitment bring...

Yep, I believe they are forged. No defects that I've noticed. Spec sheet that they gave me prior to production (~32 lbs).

Thanks. I had pointed out earlier in the thread, the wheels are made by Jova wheels. Costed me $1800 w/shipping from China. They can design pretty much any wheel I guess. They are a replica of the Cayenne Turbo GT wheels - the design of which Porsche seems to use on many of their cars like the...

Show off your aftermarket Model X wheels...

Alright, finally got my new forged wheels and tires installed today on my X plaid. Thanks to this thread, I was able to order the right offsets and tire sizes. Wheels are 22x10.5 +30 w/ 265/35/22 22x11.5 +30 w/ 315/30/22 No rubbing so far, the wheels sit flush with a bit of poke. Enough...

Early Plaid OE brake "upgrade" thoughts?

Oh, ok; hopefully, the gossip turns out to be true :). Thanks for the reply. It would be interesting to see if the new pads provide more bite and firmness in the pedal.

Early Plaid OE brake "upgrade" thoughts?

I think your theory is correct; the SSs below from Tesla's website almost confirms it. The rears look very similar to the ceramic brake upgrade option. A bit of a bummer to not have these for older refresh owners like me.

Vendor eas | ADRO Tesla Model 3 Carbon Fiber Program released

How much lower is the car with the V2 lip? It looks amazing, btw. Tempting.

After a wash. The car is sublime with the MPP coilovers and other MPP stuff; should have done it sooner :).

Another MPP sports coilovers review (had Ohlins on my S2000). Plus settings that worked.

Thanks. I am still on the Eibach bars, but switched the front to the softest setting, which seems like it is about 14% stiffer than stock. The rears are at full stiff. The reason for the rears is because I am still on a staggered setup with a beefy tire in the rear (285/30), so wanted to shift...

Based on some of the threads on this forum, you should be able to - with the right offset and the right camber, of course (may be some minor roll). Also, depends on how wide the tire is (tread width). MPP is running 305 square setup, so are many others that are tracking their car.

Your car looks great (I am sure the photo doesn't do it enough justice). I have seen some clean modded black model 3s like yours and they look amazing and all shiny. Makes me a bit jealous.

Another MPP sports coilovers review (had Ohlins on my S2000). Plus settings that worked.

Some background: I have a 2018 M3P that I bought in Sep, 2018, and the only mods I did were the Tsportline M3115 staggered forged wheels, and sway bars fro Eibach (on full stiff). I got the sway bars simply because in the stock form, the car had way too much roll when you pushed it. The sway...

20x10 +40 (with a 5mm spacer); 285/30/20 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 All Seasons (these run wide; 10.8'' tread width as per Tirerack). I've had these wheels for almost 4 years now. Tsportline M3115 forged wheels (they are really light, ~20 pounds IIRC). I don't think they make them anymore. My next...

After a fresh install of Mountain Pass Performance Sports Coilovers and other MPP stuff (camber arm, brake brace, etc). Always wanted this look; too bad it took me 4+ years to get there :).

The furthest hole towards the rear of the car is the stiffest setting (if anybody is a bit confused).

    Unplugged Performance Sway Bar Installed!

Had this bar installed on my X plaid today at AutoRnd/Zevcentric in Fremont, and all I can say is wow; it is insane that one bar can dramatically alter the dynamics of the car. It is so much more planted and stable during those freeway maneuvers, which was the primary reason I bought the bar...

First Impressions: RB Performance Brakes Big Brake Kit

Hi, Great review. How are the brakes holding up now given it's been a while? How is the pedal feel after repeated aggressive stops? The OEM ones are good and great great only sometimes; consistency is lacking. I am also looking to upgrade my brakes on my X Plaid. Thanks.

2022 Model X roof sensor not working

Just to add to this thread. The same thing happened to my trunk on my 22 X plaid in the garage when the trunk touched the garage door and stopped (obviously), that resulted in scuffs to the spoiler. I am parking the car in the opposite direction in my garage as the clearance is much higher to...

Switching from a Model 3 Performance to a Model X Plaid, anyone done it?

I agree. I have a M3P, but I am not any faster in it compared to my X plaid on my favorite backroads; in fact, I can sense some magic happening with the suspension (in the X) that makes the car insanely confidence inspiring when entering a corner. Also, the X does a tremendous job of carrying...

    Steering Wheel / Yoke option

This totally has been my experience as well. I love the yoke, but moving the horn to a tiny button could be fatal. I wonder what Tesla was thinking and I also wonder how much feedback they received from the beta testers. I understand that their philosophy or principle is to rethink everything...

Does the Model S now come with Red Calipers

Or, even those massive calipers and rotors that a lot of high-performance german cars have. Even cars like the base cayenne or a sporty macan seem to have bigger brakes. :(

Does the Model S now come with Red Calipers

I agree; but, for let's say a tilting screen or a bigger rear screen, I think most owners would be at peace somewhat for missing out, but something as critical as brakes, I would have hoped Tesla did a better job and homework to ensure customer satisfaction. As it is, for any spirited driving...

Does the Model S now come with Red Calipers

If the calipers are indeed "better" or "Higher thermal capability brake calipers", I hope tesla offers a way to retrofit these on earlier plaid cars. I also notice the rears seem bigger. I have a X plaid.

Why does Plaid come with skinnier front tires than long range?

    I am experimenting with those sizes on my X plaid. 22x10.5 (+30) F and 22x11.5 (+30) R -- w/ 285/35/22 & 315/30/22 tires. According to my calculations, they should "fit". I will know in a month or two :).

Show off your aftermarket Model X wheels...

After a lot of searching for the wheels I want on my X plaid, I think I will be going with these. They are the ones on the Cayenne Turbo GT, which IMO, are a modern version of the 991 GT3. Attachments source: Tesla Model X Wheels, tesla Model X Aftermarket Wheels, replacement Rims At...

    Bouncy Suspension Model S

I went through this thread after I accidentally came across it while searching for something. I have a 22 X plaid, which likely has the same air suspension like the S. I also have a 3P; the X's suspension is certainly way more smoother than the 3P while being stiffer/firmer -- in all settings...

Couple of Plaid photos in red for people still deciding on color and wheel sizes

Figured I'd post this. I think some of the lines are more visible in white, but the red is a beautiful color. I was also a bit worried that the 20'' wheels would look small, but they are not bad. I plan on upgrading to a set of forged 22s anyway in the future. Hope this helps someone who is...

Show off your aftermarket Model X wheels...

Great. Thanks for taking the time for the photos. Any "poke" at all in the front? Also, I am assuming there is enough clearance in the rear? I would love to go with a 285/35/22 F (22x10 or 22x10.5; +20 may be) and 315/30/22 R (22x11 or 22x11.5; +25 may be). Some decent tire options in that size.

    Model X Plaid brakes question

I agree with your theory; I have had the X Plaid for a month now and the brakes are the only disappointment. They seem to stop the car reasonably well, but I don't like the feel (not firm enough; some play at the start), and they also don't give me enough confidence when I am pushing it somewhat...

Refreshed 2021+ Model X and Model X Plaid waiting room

Picked up my Plaid last Sunday with a 4/22 build date. The car is nearly perfect (to my eye, that is); everything has been working well so far. The tracking sheet was very nice; thanks for that. Hope people on the waiting list get theirs cars soon :).
