    Supercharger - Kemptville Ontario

I charged there Dec 11 - about 15% SOC - preconditioned. I was the only car there and got about 140-150kW. 2019 Model 3.

    Tire change in Ottawa

Kal Tire or Costco have done my Model 3.

    Snow clearing mode???

Good point - I always have my wallet on me separate from my phone. Though I don't see why it would lock - though just because its never happened to me doesn't mean it's not a possibility!

    Snow clearing mode???

I leave my phone in the car while I'm brushing off the snow and it doesn't turn off. (Model 3)

    Possible location - Renfrew, ON

I saw that too - I guess they think Nepean fills the gap - but that really hurts for day trips in the winter on this side of Deep River.
  6. M

Supercharger - Nepean, ON - Robertson Road

It’s not showing up on the app yet but it’s now showing up as live on Tesla’s supercharger map on their web site.

No more TOU electricity in ON! Charge whenever you want

I'm surprised by the results - calculate my last 3 bills and I would save $2 to $5 a month on tiered rates - that's will 70% of my usage off-peak (I still only charge in off peak hours today). I would have thought TOU would be cheaper.

    Tesla-sourced Winter Tires vs Third-party

I bought my tires from Costco and wheels/ TPMS from Wheelwiz. Costco did the install.

Supercharger - Nepean, ON - Robertson Road

I had to stop in to Canadian Tire yesterday so I tried while I was there - still no power.
  10. M

Supercharger - Kingston, ON (Dalton Ave)

I was at the Panera on Saturday Aug 23rd (while charging across the street) and no construction going on.

    Supercharger - Perth ON

it shows up as live on Tesla’s supercharger map.

Need to drive at 131% efficiency to achieve advertised range.

Similar to how it's almost impossible to achieve posted fuel consumption on ICE vehicles. It usually assumes ideal conditions.
  13. M

    Supercharger - Brockville, ON

It's also more convenient for anyone crossing the border at Ogdensburg - in 2025 when the border reopens :)

    Cheapest CDN roadside assistance?

You don't have to be towed to a Canadian Tire location. OP's original question was which roadside assistance was the cheapest to get him to his nearest Tesla Service centre - 244km away. CT Roadside assistance on the WE MC covers up to 250km.
  15. M

    Cheapest CDN roadside assistance?

Canadian Tire World Elite MasterCard is no annual fee and includes roadside assistance with 250km towing to the destination of your choice.

anyone received 2020.12.5 update yet in Canada?

I'm also wondering that - I got the notification last night but today, no update available and I'm also "up to date" on 20.8.3

Ottawa: Delivery or pickup in Toronto?

I had home delivery and would do it again in a heartbeat - best car delivery experience I've ever had because I didn't have to leave the house, deal with upselling, etc. Here's a link to a thread I found helpful when I was trying to decide. Home Delivery Timing (Ottawa)

SR+ rear heated seats purchased through the app

Don’t forget fog lights used to come standard with the SR+ so some of us have them. Later builds don’t even have the HW for them.
  19. M

Model 3 Standard Range Plus or Long Range AWD in the Ottawa Area?

Ultimately it depends on your driving patterns. Having now gone through most of the winter with my SR+ I have zero regrets. For my usage, there is no way I could justify the higher cost and losing the $5k rebate.
  20. M

Model 3 Standard Range Plus or Long Range AWD in the Ottawa Area?

So tonight’s storm was my first chance to try the SR+ in true Ottawa winter conditions. I was incredibly impressed with how well it handles. I had a 328 x-drive previously and the SR+ is better in the snow.
  21. M

    UMC bricked in Cold Weather?

The issue I seem to be having with my UMC is that below -7 or so the button seems unresponsive. I have to open the charge port from the app or the screen. Otherwise works fine. Only used in the garage. I was going to mention it next time I have the mobile service team over.

Tesla Mud Flaps / Paint Protection Kit

Anyone know if you can schedule an install with mobile service or just in the SC?
  23. M

    2019.40.50.5

maybe this update takes it away? I have SR+, no FSD, HW3 but have 50.1. I do have Satellite / Traffic View etc
  24. M

Front left safety restraint system fault

SR+, July 2019 build. Tesla is replacing my entire passenger seat. In my case it's apparently the weight sensor and seat heaters conflicting. Seat is on order.

Road trip Ottawa to Newmarket , use Kingston or Belleville SC?

I'd suggest the same thing - don't try Belleville to Ottawa via 401/416 in winter without a stop in Kingston.
  26. M

    Central Ottawa winter tire install?

I will second that. Very good experience with Costco Kanata.
  27. M

    Premium connectivity

I’d consider $10 but agree $20 is too high. But I suspect they aren’t looking for the price most people will pay. They will want the price that will be most profitable for them. Given the cost to deliver the service $20 might be the number. Tesla would likely be better off with fewer people...

Payment in full before seeing car?

Correct - and also make sure you have insurance on the car valid from the payment date. You own the car from that point on so if it gets damaged in transit you want to be sure you have coverage. That's the advice my insurance company gave me.

Tesla new owners meeting , worthwhile to attend?

Home delivery is done with a shipping company, not Tesla - they just hand you the keys and have you sign. That being said, it was an incredibly convenient delivery experience. I have no regrets taking home delivery. There's also a Home Delivery in Ottawa thread that has lots of great info -...

    Did you reserve the cyberTruck?

It's definitely...different. I'm not saying that in a bad way - I thought the model 3 front end looked bizarre when they launched it and yet now I like it. I'm just curious as to who the market is for this truck - definitely not traditional truck buyers. If any want to go electric, I suspect...

Does a Model 3 plate frame come with the car?

I got one with my car - August delivery. I think Tesla has a 30 day return policy. Or use one for the front, one for the back!
  32. M

Best online retailer for wheel/tire package in Ontario?

Ordered wheels and TPMS from WheelWiz.ca - they were great - delivery in less than 24 hours and prices were better than I found elsewhere. I bought my tires from Costco.

Ontario Buyers: Green Plates vs Normal Plates

It’s the government of Ontario that establishes eligibility for green plates in Ontario, not the feds. Ontario does not have any 2020 Tesla listed.

    am I making a mistake

I have the SR+ and don't regret it at all. Agree that with the $5000 rebate it is the absolute best deal - not just for a Tesla but I would argue for any BEV. Based on you commute, the SR+ should be completely fine. You say the extra $17.5k is doable financially. It would have been for me...

Costco told me Michelin X-ice Xi3 wont fit with my SR+

That's so strange that it's not chain wide. The Kanata Costco had no issues at all - they explained that they have the correct lift pads and didn't blink at all when I gave them a card instead of a key fob. It was really a great experience.
  36. M

Costco told me Michelin X-ice Xi3 wont fit with my SR+

Had the X-Ice installed at Costco today. No issues installing on the SR+ with Replika 187. They clearly were experienced dealing with Tesla’s and had the proper lift pads. Great service.

    Winter Tire Efficiency

I'm in Ottawa, but with the drop in temperatures the last few days, I'm averaging 206Wh/km. This is with 2019.32.12.2 and the stock tires. I don't switch over to winter tires until this weekend. Most of the fall I was averaging about 160-165Wh/km. I don't think Toronto has been as cold as...

Which winter tires are you biying?

Probably better to ask the Costco location if they have the jackpads. I also bought the X-Ice through Costco and having them installed this weekend. I confirmed with my local Costco that they have the jackpads and have worked on the 3 before.
  39. M

Which winter tires are you biying?

I've read the same thing on several forums. It's one of the main reasons I didn't go with another set of Aeros (I bought the Replica 187) for winter. I'll save my Aeros and covers for summer when we do the most of our long distance driving.
  40. M

Costco told me Michelin X-ice Xi3 wont fit with my SR+

That's bizarre - if you spec out tires for the SR+ on the Costco.ca site, the Xi3 is one of the recommended tires. I have them on order to my local Costco. I would be shocked if they refuse to install them.

    Model 3 price including taxes?

Don’t kid yourself. As with the Ford government it will be one of the first things they do because it’s easy and appeals to their base. Incentive will be gone within 2 weeks If CPC is the government.
  42. M

    Model 3 price including taxes?

You're right - but only on top of the $110 (AC and OMVIC)
  43. M

    Model 3 price including taxes?

Here were the additional fees on my SR+ (delivered in Aug 2019) PPSA Fee: $136.61 Licence Fee: $200 (doesn't matter when your birthday is - they charge everyone $200) Federal AC Tax: $100 OMVIC: $10.00 Total: 446.61

Which winter tires are you biying?

Have you considered the narrower WS90s? they are 95H XL.

And increased the price to $55990

    299km at 80%

Don't get me wrong - I don't worry about it at all. Just interesting - and using it for comparison. Too many variables to consider to worry about it. 2 months in and I've never had to charge anywhere but home. Knowing I always have a "full tank" in the morning is great. Never have to worry...
  48. M

    299km at 80%

Was that post V10? Since the upgrade, my mileage at 80% has consistently dropped to 304. I charged to 90% last night and I'm at 335. Used to get 341 pre-V10. Could just be a coincidence and I'm finally seeing battery degradation.

Ontario Buyers: Green Plates vs Normal Plates

Let's not give the Ontario government any ideas. It's bad enough Illinois tried to raise EV licensing to $1000 because they don't get the gas tax revenue. (I think they ended up at about $250).
