Cyber truck will be the best selling vehicle ever

Sorry I disagree with ya there. Most buy a truck for the image of tough and independent. The Cybertruck is already getting complaints that it is too big to put in a smaller garage indicating first time truck buyers. I do agree that it will sell well with people who actually use trucks. As...

The real purpose of the tri-motor Cybertruck

I want the long range for remote driving down back country roads where even with a gas vehicle range anxiety can come up. Our F-150 has a 500 mile range and its been used to its limits.

From A Ford Raptor to Tri-Motor Cybertruck - Anyone Else?

I think the CT will be a touch more capable than my F-150 which is plenty capable for most forrest/BLM roads. The air suspension gives me a bit of concern due to what they tend to do to articulation when at full height.

This Cybertruck needs a service centre visit, are panel gaps future norm?

You know what I mean, compared to the KM2/Trepadors I have on my rock crawler they are quiet

This Cybertruck needs a service centre visit, are panel gaps future norm?

Especially with how quiet the rest of the truck will be. I had those exact tires on my Jeep, they are pretty quiet, much quieter than the ones I have on it now, but when there is very little other noise the tires will be very noticeable. Rocks thrown up from the tires wont have any effect on...

This Cybertruck needs a service centre visit, are panel gaps future norm?

Considering its skin is nearly as thick at the wall thickness of the tubes I used for the roll cage on my rock crawler... hitting a bush ... Nothing. Hitting a rock or a tree... depends on how hard

Cybertruck AWD - Will TRI motor be safer than DUAL motor in winter?

The bags of sand and salt are also so if they still get stuck they can pour some out on the ground to help get unstuck. Personally I don't think there will be a significant difference in winter safety

CT had better not beep at me when door is open & seatbelt not clicked in

I'll have to double check, but I think our F-150 stops nagging about the door when you start moving, and doesn't nag about belts until you hit 15mph. Having an I am doing stuff mode, or at least recognize when certain conditions are met then leave the driver alone for a bit.

    CyberTruck longevity

I do a fair amount of extreme off roading. The Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee are unibody and typically don't have issues until you get pretty hard core. At that level though there are plenty of other body on frame vehicles including my old CJ that need beefed up to handle the stresses...

Solution to carrying the spare tire

Living in the desert with sharp rocks, on my regular dailies about every 2-3 years, usually a nail or screw, but occasionally the inner liner will get spiderweb like cracks where it didn't flex well enough when going over a rock. With my weekend off-road toy about 2-3 times a year, usually a...

What will the actual range be when released?

A better route planner has their guestimate at 485wh/mile at 65mph, which is close to mine which was based on what the model x consumes then recalculated for the different CdA. That would give an approximate 120kwh for the rwd, 145kwh for the dual motor and 242 for the tri. The pack sizes...

    Undersized onboard L2 charger?

The problem with running those high currents is your household supply may not be able to handle it. I have a relatively high 200 amp service to my house. 48 amps is nearly 25%, then you add on AC load, Dryer, everything else running in the house and I might be overloading the service which may...

    Polycarbonate to replace Stainless Steel

In short not a chance. Per weight Polycarbinate is weaker, its softer and it degrades extremely quickly in sunlight.

[POLL] For Cybertruck Res Holders ONLY, what type of buyer are you?

I have owned truck on and off for quite some time. I currently own a 1999 Nissan Frontier that I bought when I was in college, its been used heavily and can do most things its full sized brethren can do, just not tow heavy loads. I voted that I prefer the mid sized truck because the size makes...

Can the Tesla Cybertruck Go Off-Roading?

You would probably be surprised about the power draw that slow will have even at low power levels. Climbing rocks with precision power will crank up the power on top of that. We will know when I get mine we are starting to get data on our vehicles for different off road levels. Our F-150 4x4...

    Washing the damn thing

When I was telling someone about taking my old Jeep to a mud bog he asked me how I clean all of the mud off. I told him with a rubber mallet. The look of shock and horror on his face made me ask him why. Apparently he was wanting to know because his daughter had gotten his Cadillac stuck the...

Can the Tesla Cybertruck Go Off-Roading?

I am basing this off of what little I know from youtube videos, but the lines are pretty tucked up and out of the way so not likely to get damaged. When off-roading I have seen damaged radiator, power steering, and brake lines. Most of the time we have been able to do rudimentary repairs to at...

Can the Tesla Cybertruck Go Off-Roading?

Has anyone actually confirmed that the 2 motors in the rear of the Tri-motor individually drive the rear wheels, or is that just pure conjecture?

Cybertruck Artificially Suppressing Model Y Sales

I was considering the Y a year from now so they can get all of the kinks out of it, and hopefully a battery upgrade. I didn't expect the Cyber to be affordable so in my case it likely stole me away from the Y.

Favorite options? I want a snowplow and a winch.

Spare tire, preferably in the fronk, or under the bed like a traditional trucks, not like the Rivian. Critical: 500 mile battery upgrade for the dual motor. I do occasionally tow long distances, and don't need the tri motor. Mechanical locking diffs.

Would be nice to have Crawl Control Mode

Crawl mode is to keep the wheels moving slowly without user input (typically forward). Its not necessary, but being able to run low speed and high torque for extended periods of time is. Some kind of mechanical locker in the differentials would be nice. You usually loose momentum while the...

Will Cybertruck get better range with "street" wheels and tires?

We don't know if the rating is with the off-road tires or not as it is, and won't know until likely next year. As far as towing range they can't publish towing range before hand because every situation is different. Though they have stated that the computer will figure it out and display a...

Offroad performance similar to a Humvee?

I was figuring if you mount a winch up front you would need to install a 12v battery and charge controller in the frunk to supply the power for the winch,

Why will you need a Cyber Truck?

I don't need one, we have a 2015 F-150, but are replacing our 1999 Nissan Frontier. We will keep the F-150 for long range towing and as my wifes daily driver. The charging network is not well suited for pulling a trailer, and the expected range decrease from the trailer. We do find that...
