Tesla now using deep neural net for auto wipers (2019.40)

My wipers occasionally start up in my garage before I back out, even though it's completely dry; and when it's raining they often do not go fast enough to clear the windshield. This is one of the most surprising shortcomings of our M3! Presumably will be fixed at some point...

    Tesla autopilot HW3

My confidence in AP grew substantially within the first few weeks we owned our Model 3. I (it :-) drove over 25 miles on I-75, at night, in a downpour, during which it only lost the lane markers once. Now this stretch of I-75 is newly repaved with bright lane paint and reflective markers, but...

Blog Tesla Owner Cleared of Criminal Charges After Explaining ‘Dog Mode’

Not the wife, but the (adult) daughter. We all get a kick out of what's displayed on the screen! She's never been approached by anyone outside the car demanding to confirm that she's not being abused. BTW, you can just leave climate control "on" rather than in Dog Mode if you're leaving...

    Rattle in rear (Model 3)

Follow-up on my earlier note about rear seat rattle: Mobile Team came out and fixed the thing that was rattling for us once we pointed them to the back of the rear driver side seat. There is a place a few inches below the latch opening on the seat back where the middle seat belt is secured to...

Annoying rattle from rear of Tesla resolved.

Same symptoms here. Noticed that the back of the left rear seat, under the carpet layer, seems to have loose plastic sounds easily discernible if you tap on the carpet. Do you have the same? I'm thinking that might be the issue, unless it's local to my car...

    Rattle in rear (Model 3)

We've had a rattle that we've recently isolated to the left rear seat back. When it's down, no rattle. When its up, intermittent rattle. We then noticed that under the carpet layer on the seat back there's all sorts of rattle-able material: tap on the carpet and it seems like there are sheets...

    Getting too used to Autopilot

Agreed. While I find AP helpful on the highway and in traffic jams and see it do amazing things, there are also times (that other 5%) where I really have to wonder whether FSD is really so close. I'd be skeptical even if it were that other 0.5% or 0.05%.

Another tragic fatality with a semi in Florida. This time a Model 3

We have a new M3 and I just saw behavior that suggests the truck perhaps was not identified by AP. A truck with a flatbed trailer turned left about 50m in front of me while AP was engaged, and my car immediately slowed when the truck cab entered my lane. But as soon as it was out of the way and...
