I have a 2018 that now has the option for $2k. If Tesla had done a better job managing vehicle values, I’d consider. But, to put in $2k into a car that is worth 10-14k is lame. And after they take everyone’s money, Tesla will abandon HW3 and focus on HW4. No thank you

you need to have an ability to work on the car without going to a Tesla service center. If you can address stuff like drive unit repair or replacement, battery issues, door handles, air suspension, infotainment cluster issues, emmc issues, etc.. on your own or a third party, it may be worth it...

sounds like you found the issue, OP, and it is being addressed. Don't expect to ever receive reimbursement for supercharging you do now though, Tesla is awful with reimbursements

If you get a new (not reman) battery from Tesla, it’s not rolling the dice. It’s a solid investment into a vehicle that may have other issues down the line. Going third party, no matter how cheap, is a gamble IMO

OP - for sure you've been getting "remanufactured" or refurbished batteries as replacement (ie: your 2nd and 3rd battery).. reman batteries from Tesla have the original cells (with wear/tear/degradation, etc..) on them and just have a fixed core w BMS. Reman batteries don't last, and folks...

I think the thought was that early (2012-14) cars that were pampered and had very little mileage were the ones that were having multiple issues later on when they were out of warranty... the early cars that were driven into the ground had the issues addressed promptly by Tesla and then ended up...
