    CPUC NEM 3.0 discussion

As few and far between that those rates are whatever battey system one would be using, it would have to have fairly flexible programming to take advantage of thosE few times that the export rate is high enough to be worthwhile. I am curious if the VPP rates are the close to the same?

    NEM-PS Annual True-Up Calculation [PG&E example]

I agree. I charge from excess solar during the day and use my batteries to avoid peak rates. I still have winter loads that exceed solar production so my total NBCs were $230 at True Up which covered my MDCs and that was all I paid because I also had a small NEM credit.

    CPUC NEM 3.0 discussion

Yes, the credits are from PG&E. However under NEM 3.0 they are insignificant and that is why batteries can improve the return on investment by reducing the amount paid to PG&E. As I mentioned I have never seen a lease that makes sense. I did a self install and it cost me $2.50 a Watt, Over the...

I never thought solar leasing made sense under NEM 2.0. With The lower compensation for exports my guess would be the economics of leasing would be worse under NEM 3.0 .

    $7500 IRA business tax credit

i bought a Model X seven years ago in a business and we took accelerated depreciation back then. It was for any vehicle over 6000 lbs. I don't know if it stll applies today.

    CPUC NEM 3.0 discussion

I have actually added more than that, but with some controls, overhead and other loads I make sure I do not exceed the AC rating of my NEM agreement plus the 1kW extra allowed. I also faced the new panels West so they peak later than my main system.

Except adding batteries won't bump you to NEM 3 as far as I know. Adding more panels than 1k will bump you to NEM 3.

    Roof Glass Replacemenmt?

Tesla gave me an estimate for both windshield and roof replacement and can do it as early as this Thursday.

    Roof Glass Replacemenmt?

Thanks, i remember the orange roof from my 2016 Model X. I would not think of getting my glass from anybody but Tesla.

    Roof Glass Replacemenmt?

The roof glass now has two long cracks so it is no longer a question about whether I should have the roof glass replaced. I have requested a revised estimate and hopefully it can be done the same day as my scheduled windshield replacement. I have sent a memo to service over the weekend.

    Roof Glass Replacemenmt?

While driving, a rock hit the spot where the roof glass meets the windshiels. The windshiels clearly has two cracks 15 and 10 inches long. The roof glass has a chip but no signs of any cracks as far as I can tell. I already got an estimate from Tesla and it was $800 less than Safelite for...

Tesla special Cybertruck aftermarket group to create 48V products

As mentioned earlier it may have a longer warranty. Also if it does need to be replaced the Ahr capacity only needs to be one fourth of the capacity of a 12 volt battery. For example 100 Ahrs at 12 volts is the same power as 25 Ahrs at 48 volts. I don't even know if it needs that much capacity...

    CPUC NEM 3.0 discussion

I agree. I recently read a California Energy Commission policy directive that will require the IOUs to begin implementing hourly rates periods beginning April 1, 2023. I just changed from EV2 to TOU C effective March 29th because the latter rate gave me a greater value for my solar production...

PG&E NEM 2 with EVA rate plan with powerwall question charging from grid

I am actually a Net consumer of one mWh at True Up and had a small dollar credit. Zeroing out that credit meant that the one mWh of consumption was free.

Perhaps you need to request electronic billing..PG&E does accounting for CCA. You will get one bill with details for distribution and generation in different sections of the bill.

    CPUC NEM 3.0 discussion

You may not call it compensation but my Net generation shows up as a credit that offsets most of the other charges. CPUC NEM 3.0 discussion

Unbundled rates are a result of deregulation, when the Investor Owned Utilities were required to divest themselves of generation facilities. This may go back twenty years or more. Technically the IOUs are not allowed to profit from generaton but they are allowed to add significant overhead to...

    CPUC NEM 3.0 discussion

Call them what you want. I agree, in the long term they are not fixed, but in the short term they are not variable or controllable as revenue declines. That is not an optimal scenaerio as far as forecasting profits. i would call those variable costs which go up and down in direct relationship...

    CPUC NEM 3.0 discussion

Here you contradict your earlier statement, which does make your logic hard to follow. The utility argument is based on cost shifts not revenue shifts. Since they are guaranteed a rate of return based on assets deployed, their argument has some validity since the only way to maintain a rate of...

It also has significant fixed costs for distribution and transmission When revenue declines, fixed costs stay the same and the overhead allocated to the...

Will The CT Beat Dual Motor Rivian

The Rivian is already shipping. I have had a Cybertruck reservation since 2018 and don't expect to see a delivery until 2024. The features on the CT make the term "equivalent" meaningless. Some features I think I will see on the CT are, four wheel steering, steer by wire, more efficient brakes...

Model Y Not Worth the Price Now [Nov 2022]

I got more cameras and all the functionality that came with them including sentry mode. I love the turn signal activating the camera view for that side. Model Y Not Worth the Price Now [Nov 2022]

    NEMA 14-50 home charging advice

It has probably been mentioned, but it is a Mobile Connector not a charger. The charger is in the car. So yes, it is okay to leave it plugged in because it is just a relay that does not connect or power the plug unless the car is connected.
