    Supercharger - Prattville, AL

What a buzzkill! 😀 Thanks. It's now showing a wait, which can't possibly be right. Must be a software issue as you suggest.
  2. D

    Supercharger - Prattville, AL

This location has been offline for a couple of days now. Does anyone have any insight? Any chance they are upgrading the power cabinets to real version 4?

Highland suspension on 2019 Model 3

I had the Primacy Tour AS as my last set of tires (on a 2019 RWD LR M3). For the most part, they were really good tires. I wouldn't say the road noise was substantially better than the factory tires, but my car is an earlier build and is just louder anyway. I recall the handling being a bit...

Alabama getting some love this week. Florence Supercharger 372 Cox Creek Parkway, Florence, AL @Pluto @corywright

    Supercharger - Eufaula, AL

Got to sleuthing after seeing the updated Tesla supercharger map and found this one in Eufaula. City Council Resolution and Agreement Address: 137 West Broad Street, Eufaula, AL Approximate Coordinates: 31.892665, -85.1468146 12-stalls with a bathroom to be constructed by the City @corywright...

    Supercharger - Alexander City, AL

The legend MarcoRP already found it: 1061 US-280, Alexander City, AL 35010 at a Winn-Dixie. No plan, so uncertain on the number of stalls. Looks like it may be under construction soon. @Pluto @corywright

    CCS Retrofit Availability (2023)

Fair enough. They should at least add a manual precondition option then.
  8. D

    CCS Retrofit Availability (2023)

My bigger concern is that Tesla doesn't show CCS locations in the nav. They need to add these so preconditioning can be activated. As you allude to, parts of the Tesla experience are starting to lag behind what competitors can do.

    CCS Retrofit Availability (2023)

Interesting. I had to use that for mine, and I've not had any issues.

    Non-Tesla DC Fast Charging Infrastructure

    A bit of an update
  11. D

    CCS Retrofit Availability (2023)

I was worried about doing it myself, but it really is pretty simple. Works great. I'm not sure Tesla is ever going to actually offer the upgrade.
  12. D

    Supercharger - Kingston, TN

Oh thanks. I missed the stall count column.
  13. D

    Supercharger - Kingston, TN

Looks like Tesla will receive TN NEVI funding for a station in Kingston at the Food City. Address is: 1000 LADD Landing Blvd, Kingston, TN 37763 Unfortunately, no information is know about the size of the station. However, the award is for around 1 million, so my guess is it's a 12-16 stall...
  14. D

    Supercharger - Alabaster, AL

There was a pretty substantial drop from the old to new pavement when they first installed it. I wonder if it's as simple as them just fixing that. It does look like they have repaved around the stalls.
  15. D

    Supercharger - Alabaster, AL

Happened to be in the area the first day the MagicDocks were available. Got to use an adapter for the adapter. 😀 Worked great by the way
  16. D

    Supercharger - Alabaster, AL

I'm seeing the site in the mobile app now. Still not showing for non-Tesla MagicDock users.
  17. D

    Supercharger - Orange Beach, AL

@corywright , can you mark this one under construction?
  18. D

    Supercharger - Orange Beach, AL

    Yeah sure thing. See attached.

    Supercharger - Orange Beach, AL

Looks like a 12 stall Supercharger going in at the Wharf in Orange Beach, AL. Looks like V3 bases. Link to Facebook Lat/Long are: 30.292239890806496, -87.62709424633567 Closest address is: 4700B Main St Suite 108, Orange Beach, AL 36561 @Pluto ETA: Meant to put this under, if a mod could...

    Supercharger - Alabaster, AL

Wow! They must have just changed those out. That's great!
  21. D

    Supercharger - Alabaster, AL

Woah. That's a bummer on the stall change.
  22. D

    Supercharger - Cornersville, TN

I am fairly certain this is some of the conduit for charger cabinets and transformer. It's on the very East end of the site. The whole complex is under construction, but it will be a very nice stop when done.
  23. D

    Supercharger - Alabaster, AL

    Maybe they'll include a sky bridge to Chick-fil-A! :)
  24. D

    Supercharger - Prattville, AL

Yep! Showing up on the Tesla nav now as well.
  25. D

    CCS Retrofit Availability (2023)

My suspicion is that even if they could do this, it might spoof the Chademo proctocol. That could also limit the available power output to 50-100 kW.
  26. D

    Supercharger - Alabaster, AL

I was noticing that as well. A very unwalkable development.
  27. D

    Supercharger - Alabaster, AL

It appears to be based on the permit.
  28. D

    CCS Retrofit Availability (2023)

Limited testing from me, but so far, no issues. Charging is exactly the same.
  29. D

    Supercharger - Prattville, AL

C'mon baby. Show me some Magic Docks! Need them at this site badly. There's not other high power CCS chargers between Greenville and Alabaster.
  30. D

    CCS Retrofit Availability (2023)

Alright, I bit the bullet, bought the ECU off eBay, and installed it. Works like a charm! That probably means Tesla will offer the retrofit shortly. :)

Reuters: "Tesla readies revamped Model 3 with project 'Highland' -sources" [projected 3rd quarter 2023]

I'm most interested in the suspension and noise improvements. Those are big negatives of the early model 3s for sure.
  32. D

    CCS Retrofit Availability (2023)

Unfortunately my local service center seems unwilling to sell it directly.
  33. D

    CCS Retrofit Availability (2023)

I'm getting a bit concerned this is never gonna happen. The non-CCS compatible portion of the Tesla fleet is growing smaller by the day. Maybe it's no longer a priority for them to support upgrades. I'm tempted to source a part and do it myself, but I'm also a bit chicken that I'll mess...

CCS1 DIY retrofit: how long before adapter showed up in store?

Can you let me know how and where you got the parts? I have tried on multiple occasions to get my local service center to do the upgrade or sell the parts with no success.
  35. D

Supercharger - Montgomery, AL (Mobile Highway)

Thanks to MarcoRP on twitter for this one. Guessing it will be close to here: 32.31054166513683, -86.35042955777926 @Pluto , looks like this would be permit status.
  36. D

"New" Sources of Tesla 'OEM,' Tesla-like, and/or Third-Party CCS1 Adapters

One caveat to this. If your vehicle is not already CCS capable, it will not work with NACS on non-superchargers. You would still need to do the CCS upgrade so that your car could "talk CCS".

Model 3 LR not currently available to order (USA) [posted 08.12.2022 --Its back! 05.02.2023]

The inventory vehicles on the Tesla website pretty clearly state they do. I would be surprised if they did this without being sure.
  38. D

Shopping for an M3 LR, which year is the smart buy?

I have a 2019 RWD LR, and it's been great. The heat pump is nice but not a huge deal if you're in a relatively mild climate. I still get 250+ miles at highway speed in decent weather, which is further than my bladder can take me anyway. My only real complaint is the road noise above 70 mph...
  39. D

    CCS Retrofit Availability (2023)

I tried again to get it installed last week. The service center responded that it would be available July 1. Take that for what it's worth.

    Supercharger - Gardendale, AL

It was still under construction as of Monday.
  41. D

    Supercharger - Guin, AL

Surprised to not find this here yet. Construction of a 12 stall, 250 kW supercharger is well underway at 5750 AL-44, Guin, AL 35563 (Holiday Inn). See here for progress video. @Pluto , can you add this to supercharge.info?

Alabama Superchargers (location speculation and discussion)

Well, for better or worse, this wound up at the exit to the north. Still not a bad location, just a bit further off the interstate. https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/supercharger-gardendale-al.299011/
  43. D

    Supercharger - Gardendale, AL

I'd prefer it be a bit closer to I-65, but still not bad. I wondered if it might wind up at Publix or the new development going in at Odum Road.

    CCS Retrofit Availability (2023)

These are also viewable on fastcharger.info.
  45. D

    Supercharger - Sevierville, TN

Quick heads up, the GMAP link on supercharge.info is incorrect for this site. It currently points to the Buc-ee's in Athens, AL (which I wish was getting one as well).
  46. D

Supercharger - Decatur, GA - East Ponce de Leon Ave

Great! @Pluto, can we update supercharge.info?
  47. D

Supercharger - Decatur, GA - East Ponce de Leon Ave

When I stopped by last week, I believe there was no charge for the first 30 minutes of parking, which should cover must SC stops.
  48. D

Supercharger - Decatur, GA - East Ponce de Leon Ave

I'll say it for you. Magic Docks!!!

2022 MYP, Red/White with Tow Hitch

Hey all! We are looking to sell our 2022 Model Y Performance. It was purchased as a stop gap until we could get another vehicle we ordered, which is now ready. It's in great shape other than some curb rash on one of the wheels (see pictures). It also will need rear tires soon. Taking into...

    Non-Tesla DC Fast Charging Infrastructure

Sadly I think you are 100% correct on this. There is just limited incentive to roll out hardware in early 2023. Between grant funded CCS chargers and more magic dock Tesla locations, things should start getting much better in mid to late 2024.
