    Price Increases

Given that sales of Teslas in the UK are more than 33% down on 12 months ago and market share is significantly down they are going to have to do something to incentivise the market.
  2. A

    So… Highland is out…

It’s certainly true that the bottom has fallen out of the second hand market. Given that initial purchase price is significantly higher than equivalent ICE, insurance costs are higher and resale values lower it’s hardly surprising that private buyers are so reluctant to buy a BEV. I need to...

    So… Highland is out…

I have a feeling of Déjà vu. Weren’t there supposed to be one million robotaxis on the road by the end of 2020?
  4. A

    So… Highland is out…

So in March 2023 Tesla sold 10,493 cars in the UK. This March they sold 6,995. That’s a drop in sales of 33.34%. Market share fell from 3.65% in March 2023 to 2.2% this March. I’d describe that as absolutely disastrous, but I’m sure someone will be along soon to explain why it’s actually...

My experience taking Tesla to court about FSD

I certainly wouldn’t describe myself as rich and maybe it’s because I change my cars more frequently. My September 2019 M3 is the first car of mine that’s ever needed an MOT, and I’ve owned cars for 40 years.

My experience taking Tesla to court about FSD

My car was delivered in September 2019 and “autosteer on city streets” was promised by the end of that year. Which is why I took Tesla to court for a refund for a service that I paid for in good faith but didn’t receive.

    UK - FSD, Motorways, Regulation

Exactly. They “might” solve FSD in the US in a few years and achieve Level 4 autonomy, but that’s if no relevance to me. I admire the optimism of those who think Level 4 will be a reality in this country anytime soon but I can’t help but be sceptical. FSD development has consistently been...

Tesla reduces output of Y and 3 in Shanghai

I don’t see the issue with climate change. Isn’t Musk taking us all to Mars?

    Tesla Alternative?

I agree that it’s a hideous thing. If it ticked all my boxes, though, I wouldn’t let its looks put me off. After all, I bought an M3 and I consider it to be by far the ugliest car I’ve ever owned. I had my heart on getting an A8 e-tron in the next 12 months but it seems it’s delayed until...

    [UK] 2023.44

Yes, it’s all about perception and I’m more than happy to admit I was wrong about the frequency of updates. My rejoinder wasn’t meant to be witty - it was a statement of fact that will no doubt upset those who cannot tolerate any criticism of Tesla. I will be dismissed as a “moaner” for...

    UK FSD Discussion

So he is. There were supposed to be one million of them on the road by the end of 2020 🤣
  12. A

And a reminder that no update has fixed the crap wipers, crap headlights or phantom braking. That’s reality 😂

    2024 Insurance Costs

The increase might be steep but your insurance is below the national average. Not sure what you’re complaining about.
  15. A

    2023 Holiday Update

Exactly this. It does amuse me that after nearly every update someone will claim the wipers have improved. It never happens. I’ll just have to accept that my supposedly incredibly technically advanced car has, in some respects, worse tech than a cheap 20 year old hatch.
  16. A

    Tesla Alternative?

People still buy cars from dealerships? How silly. Before Tesla I bought my last three cars through autoebid. Configured the cars online, never spoke to a salesman, no on tried to sell me crap I didn’t want and I always got a hefty discount - 22% off on the last car.
  17. A

    Tesla Vision

I don’t “look” for evidence. The evidence is clear, obvious and unavoidable.
  18. A

    Tesla Vision

Absolutely no surprise to see who disagreed with me. @spdpspa is probably one of those people who knows Vision only doesn’t work but can’t bring himself to admit it.
  19. A

    Tesla Vision

Exactly. There are some who seem determined to shut down even well deserved criticism by having a personal go at the poster. It’s a bit pathetic but it doesn’t bother me. I’m also someone who loves most aspects of my car but gets incredibly frustrated by the simple things (such as lights and...

    Tesla Alternative?

The reviewer really liked the EV9. He did mention that wind and road noise was overly intrusive so Tesla drivers should feel right at home 🤣

My experience taking Tesla to court about FSD

Anyone who bought their car in 2019, as I did, will presumably have a good chance of settlement. I get the impression Tesla knew they had no chance of winning in court. Having said that, if a fair number of people put in a claim for a refund (I certainly will be) it will be interesting to see if...

My experience taking Tesla to court about FSD

Can you not buy the car without FSD and add it in the future if functionality increases? I think Tesla generally give advance notice if there’s going to be a price increase in FSD so hopefully you wouldn’t be caught out. Though I really don’t see how they could justify an increase in the UK...
  24. A

My experience taking Tesla to court about FSD

Same here. Tesla have for years treated their customers with contempt by knowingly and deliberately misleading them. The only way they will change is if they are held to account. I would expect any company to refund me if they didn’t deliver a product or service I paid for in good faith. Why...

    [UK] ‘Highland’ order discussion

Probably to try and fool people into thinking it’s of comparable quality to real leather. Which, of course, it isn’t. “Cheap vegan crap” seems to me to be a pretty accurate description.

Maximum length extension cable for use with granny charger?

I use a 25m 2.5mm cable when I stay in a remote farmhouse in Snowdonia. Works perfectly and It doesn’t even get warm.

    Instavolt

Well I was staying in Keswick for ten days and there was no way I was going to make a 70 mile round trip to use a SuC at Tebay every time I needed to charge. Thank goodness for reliable, convenient Instavolt. Plus, I like shopping at Booths ✅

[UK] Hands free (Level 2) driving has arrived

Is that two weeks in “Elon Time”, i.e. an undetermined time in the future that repeatedly gets pushed back and might still be many years away?
  32. A

    Instavolt

Yes, I charged at Keswick a couple of times last week and it was 85p. On the plus side I’ve always found Instavolt to be extremely reliable, and as I rarely use public chargers the price is pretty much irrelevant.

    [uk specific] Software 2023.32

Autosteer on city streets, as we know, was promised by the end of 2019. It was then listed as “coming soon”. Now it’s just listed as “upcoming”. Don’t hold your breath indeed. How much has FSD actually improved in the UK over the last four years?

Here's how to charge with 32A commando in UK

I’ve been charging with a 32A commando for more than four years. I decided on this option as I wasn’t eligible for the £500 OLEV grant. I installed it myself and just got an electrician to wire it into the consumer unit and check I’d done it properly. it’s been 100% reliable and saved me a lot...

    UK Highland Orders

So I’m not allowed to relate my experience just because I’m not going to buy the car? Only a fanboy, true believer or Tesla sycophant would describe my comments as trolling.
  36. A

    UK Highland Orders

As a Tesla owner of more than four years I’m perfectly entitled to comment on my direct experience of ownership. I find it baffling that you have a problem with that. 🤷‍♂️😏🙂

    [uk specific] Software 2023.32

My last phantom brake was this morning on the M6, and it was a bad one. Cue suggestive gestures from the driver behind who nearly rear ended me.
  38. A

    UK Highland Orders

I can’t see any point in registering an early interest. Look back to when the M3 became available to order in the UK in 2019. Some people had put deposits down years earlier but they had no real advantage over those who put their orders in when orders went live in the May. I’ve already decided...

    Wipers

I’m on 32.6 and I had exactly the same as this driving 100 miles home from the Lake District yesterday. Wipers absolutely useless in surface spray, had to put them in manual and consequently couldn’t use AP. This morning I drove to work in low bright sun and the wipers were thrashing around on...

    So… Highland is out…

Except it isn’t constructive criticism, it’s delusional moaning. Sycophantic hero worship, on the other hand, is perfectly acceptable 🤣😂

Yes we are. Nothing gets past you 🤣🤣 Worthless, low brow reply 🙈😂
  43. A

    So… Highland is out…

Well it is a UK forum. Telling us how unbelievably brilliant FSD beta is really isn’t helpful. And we don’t all feel obliged to honour the Musk or Tesla with sycophantic hero worship, though there are plenty of people who do.

    Charging raye

I do, but the pathetic dribble that comes out of the scooshers is completely inadequate for cleaning a really dirty windscreen, such as salt from gritting in winter or the Saharan dust on Saturday. Well below average in my book.
  45. A

    So… Highland is out…

Someone (with no sense of reality) will be along soon to tell you that Tesla are so ahead in EV development that no other manufacturer has even a scoobies of getting close for at least 10 years. Which those of us rooted in the real world know is complete tosh. Just a shame that Tesla, with...
  46. A

    Charging raye

If the pathetically inadequate scooshers fitted on Teslas did a better job the windscreen would be perfectly clean.

M3 Refresh - Are Indicator buttons really poor design?

There will be some people who will (pretend to) love this just because Tesla introduced it and Tesla can do no wrong. It might even be that people can get used to no stalks over time. But do the more rational among us actually think that buttons are an improvement over stalks?
  48. A

    So… Highland is out…

If innovation brings improvement then I’m all for it. But I see absolutely no benefit in removing indicator stalks. There’s a reason they’ve stood the test of time - they are easy to use, intuitive and extremely effective. Tesla like to be “disruptive”. Vision for wipers instead of a cheap...

    V4 Supercharger -UK

I don’t think anyone would disagree that the SuC network is fantastic. However, just occasionally there are better alternatives. When I charge at Gretna I usually find there’s a queue at the SuC. Instead I use the Ionity chargers which give me a faster charge than the 150KW SuC. I’m charged up...
