    Superchargers being increased in Scotland

I just passed the Glasgow Service Centre and the area where the Superchargers are due to go is fenced off and a Digger is on site. Obviously still some way off but at least work has begun.

Larkhall is badly needed as the Dakota is chocka these days completely full when I was there earlier today. There are also 4 relatively new V4's at Bathgate which is just along the road and were empty today.

Collision with a Deer on motorway. HELP

I had exactly the same collision with a Deer over a year ago and am also insured by Direct Line. In my case they decided it was a No Fault Claim since I did nothing wrong so I would definitely challenge their decision. Can't comment on the Repairer but Tesla Parts tend to have a long lead...

    Superchargers being increased in Scotland

I live near Glasgow SC and to date there is no sign of any Supercharger work so Q3 starting to look optimistic. The car park is rammed with literally hundreds of M3 and MY by the way.

Recommended Tesla-approved body shops in Scotland?

Can't comment on the Broxburn guys but Mitchell Inglis repaired the front of my M3 after a collision with a Deer and it was faultless, even I can't tell so highly recommended.

    Tesla Quality Reassurance Required?

I had the water in Boot issue and the SC replaced the Boot Lid to resolve it, apparently it was a design issue on early cars mine was an August 2019 Model 3 SR+.

    Driver Door Unlock Mode

Had exactly the same experience trying to open a rear passenger door for one of my Wife's Pals, now off and staying off !

    Tessie App

Mine has a Button to 'Update Charge History' or something similar, so seems to be optional. I've found the Support to be superb so maybe give them a call ?

    Road Trip EV Journalism

This programme was the usual mix of half truths and worst case scenarios. Driving to Scotland but not registering for Chargeplace Scotland in advance, not using Superchargers even when available etc. Home Charging costs £20 so how come it costs me £3 ?

M3 been in bodyshop for 5+ months - both batteries dead

Mitchell Inglis know what they're doing and did an excellent job of repairing my M3 after a collision with a deer last year. You may have a wait for parts but they will do a quality job.

    Wiring loom water ingress

This is a well known recall which I had done on my 2019 SR+ under Warranty so it's worth challenging then in this.

Charge Place Scotland Tariffs by Council

There are quite a few Tesla Superchargers in Scotland which are generally pretty quite which should allow you to Roadtrip with relative ease.

    Service history for used Tesla

Tyre rotation is not really a 'thing' in the UK, it may or may not have had the Cabin Filter changed and brake fluid checked, try giving them a call ?

    [UK] Price cuts

I drove past Tesla Glasgow earlier and there were literally hundreds of Cars in the lot, very unusual for the start of a quarter, wonder what's going on ?

    UK: Essential charging attachments?

The Car will come with a Granny Charger and Type 2 Cable, the Car is directly compatible with CCS so no Adaptor etc. needed here. If you don't do much mileage then you may survive happily on the Granny Charger but if you do quite a lot of miles then I strongly suggest you rethink the Home Charger.

New M3P owner - scheduled charging & Intelligent Octopus

I suggested exactly that to them several months ago, still waiting.

    Pre 2021 that bad?

I've got an August 19 SR+ which has been near perfect, only been in Service once in 3 and a bit years and then only for recall work. I think everyone's experience is different and based largely on expectations met or not. The main issue is how much a longer Warranty, Heat Pump and Powered Boot...

over 12 thousand miles and nearly a years ownership of Model Y

As a 3.5 year in M3 Owner I'd like to echo your comments, I absolutely love the Car and as you say on Octopus Go etc it's incredibly cheap to run. The car was recently in the Glasgow SC for some recall work and that process was seamless. I think on Forums like this there is a natural tendency...

    UK Charge Point Installer Recommendations

I used a Company called Smarter Utility who I believe are based in East Kilbride about £1,100 including Charger and Installation, not sure if they do Zappi's.

Really dependent on how busy local Installers are but definitely get this done in advance.

[UK] Would you buy another tesla

Love my M3 SR+ and have had no issues with it in now nearly 3.5 years and 22,000 miles, I'm retired so small mileage. I love the simplicity of driving it, the power when needed and how cheap as chips it is to run from Home Charging. That said an improvement in Customer Service would go a long...

advice on buying a second hand model 3

You are correct that early cars came from Freemont USA and they now come from China, I have a Freemont car and my neighbour has a newer China car and he's convinced that the China build quality is better but having said that I've had no issues with my USA car. Tesla tend to do incremental...

    London to Scotland

Certainly very doable you just need to match your 2 or 3 Charging Stops with Coffee / Lunch Breaks. Some Tesla Superchargers at Gretna and Scotch Corner can be busy and are best avoided if possible.

    Water in Boot

It's an August 2019 Freemont car, no issues until the last week or two, I'll get it checked in for a service.

    Water in Boot

The last week I've twice found quite a lot of water in my M3 Boot, planning to check boot seals and maybe Gummi Pfledge them in the morning any other experiences / ideas welcome.

I used Kwik Fit in the Glasgow Suburbs they had jack pads and they seemed to know what they were doing, easiest MOT I've ever had.

    Tesla App open door issue

There's an option under Locks something like Driver's Door Opening which you may have enabled by accident, I had done so and toggling it to Off resolves this issue.

Charge Place Scotland Tariffs by Council

The CPS Chargers are 'owned' by the Hosts the majority of which are Local Authorities hence you end up with a complete hotpotch of charges as they can't / won't agree on the colour of s****.

    supercharger data base?

If you want a comprehensive map of all Chargers including Superchargers then I suggest you check out an App called Zap Map.

    Sadly yes.
  39. Alan J

Model 3 RWD pre delivery hangout

Correct but you can get higher on a Public CCS Charger typically 40-50kw and the best is Tesla Superchargers which are astonishingly fast, you literally won't have time for a coffee and toilet trip.

Model 3 Service after 1 year...?

I contacted Local SC after 2 years (now 3) to be told that there is no Service Schedule. In USA they rotate the Wheels / Tyres but that's not really a thing in the UK, I think they also recommend Air Filter replacement but again I skipped that. If it ain't broken ..... but if you want piece...

    Twitter and the Chief Twit

No way to remote start heated wipers?

In the App hold one of the Icons and you will get access to all of them, then select the Icon of the car with 3 'waves' above it, this will rapidly defrost the car. You can move that Icon to the main list of 4 / 5 for the Winter if you plan to use it regularly.

Approved Bodyshop L&I Perth or Mitchell Inglis Glasgow

Yes it was an Insurance job as it was fairly extensively damaged at the front. Tesla spares are on long lead times so if the car is still driveable I would wait until they have the parts before surrendering the car.

Octopus Energy, including Intelligent and go

You can do this with either the Go, Go Faster or IO Tariffs, we have Go Faster with a 21:30 - 01:30 slot and so can shift Dishwasher, Washing Machine etc. into this slot as well as charging the car.
