Hahaha! Touché! 😄
(although I doubt I would vote for Daniel Kawczynski even if I were allowed to vote in UK general elections).
But it's a serious question, though. The words "extreme", "far" and "radical" are used quite often these days, applied both to the left and the right, and I am not...
I’m not trolling, why would you go on the offensive like that? l just don’t quite understand what “radical conservatism” means.
I’m quite a conservative kind of person. At which point would my conservatism be considered radical?
Hah! Very good.... although Boeing's issues are a lot more complicated.
(Or, actually, probably quite a simple story of greed and hubris, come to think of it....)
Interesting link, thank you for that.
I really can't see a problem in having a precautionary approach to safety-of-life systems. Look at the aviation industry. VERY precautionary approach to change and yet innovation still happens.
Oh, I'm up to my eyeballs in Powerwalls and I heat and cook on electricity.
But I spent a ridiculous amount money on PWs because I kinda really wanted to (and my paranoia gets somewhat controlled by the added level of energy sufficiency and flexibility).
If I happen to get lucky and make a...
Of course it’s based on opinion, I never claimed otherwise. So are about 90% of the posts on here…
And I’m a firm believer that “if it’s too good to be true then it probably is”. I stand by my comment that it probably wouldn’t be sensible to make long term decisions for a significant capital...
Based on "it's too good to last".
It is not reasonable and certainly not wise to make long term calculations based on the expectation of us to being able to sell at twice the cost that we buy for a long period of time (although, of course, not impossible).
You’ll need some awfully creative man maths to justify a 3rd Powerwall… especially as I seriously doubt our current export tariffs will remain for much longer 😉
Annoyingly I’ve started exporting some power at peak, foolishly assuming there would be no more Saving Sessions.
That’ll surely have ruined my average for today.
Oh, well…
Yeah, they need to get money from somewhere.
Come to think of it, there are very few perks to driving an EV in the UK. Even in Portugal we often get either free parking or reduced rates in many cities...
What you say makes sense but it would seem to be a very significant drop in an I important metric for the system as compared to the PW2 and 2+.
You can get 5kWp from a not-very-large solar array. From what I have seen in the US your systems seem to be bigger than here in Europe (I suspect your...
I have emailed Octopus a couple of times asking for a Powerwall integration to Intelligent Octopus.
They said no, but I imagine with the API opening up and the number of Powerwall installations going up they may have more interest.
Worth dropping them a line, I guess....
Just like @Billbrown1982 I've had difficulties with bump charges pretty much from Day 1 as well.
Now I just disable smart charging from the Octopus app and start the charge from the Tesla app instead. 🤷🏻♂️
Yes, of course.
Yet another "better to remain silent and let people think you're an idiot than open your mouth and remove all doubt" moment from me...
This forum can be quite humbling, one of the reasons why I like it :)
Surely, then, the onus would be on Tesla to come up with how much exactly that value was?
My understanding is that FSD really has very little value in the second-hand market, although I agree that this would open a whole other line of argument which could prove time-consuming and rather costly...
I think maybe you've not been reading the thread properly. For some of us the system really isn't working well and we just wish we could override it.
It's yet another example of that Tesla AI inconsistency (a la Autopilot) where some people seem to have problems and others don't and there seems...
More than happy to leave it alone if it works as designed and doesn't cause inconvenience.
Auto Defogging coming on with a pristine windscreen and blowing hot air on my face whilst making my feet cold is not something you'd have to be a "control freak" to want to do something about....
I’m not sure if it can be set by the installer during commissioning but it certainly isn’t an option when running the Wizard subsequently (I had another look yesterday) :)
No, you can only set the Site Import Limit using the setup wizard.
A Site Export Limit has to be set by Tesla by emailing [email protected] and letting them know your Gateway Serial Number and what Export Limit you'd like them to set.
Your system would technically be able to output 10kW (5kW from he PW2 and 5 kW from the solar inverter).
If you're limited to 8.68kW then you can email Tesla to set a Site Export Limit on your gateway so that limitation is never breached should you happen to be exporting from batteries and...
Well, technically (and in a properly functioning society where the Judiciary and Executive powers are independent as is still the case in the UK) even governments have to abide by the terms of contacts they celebrate... But this may derail this thread quite badly so I'll just leave it at that ;)
Just to add. I just checked again and my older Powerwalls are reporting 13.151Wh of Nominal Full Pack Energy and the newest ones (about one year old) are reporting 14.477Wh
Well, I had a look at the API output and my 4 year old Powerwalls are still reporting just under 13.5kWh available. I think they ship with slightly more than advertised to absorb some of that first-year degradation so at the moment mine seem to be on track for a fairly long life span.
As I will...
