Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Just a quick reminder that Citadel Securities is in no way manipulating TSLA to maximize their options market making and hedge fund profits. They're just lucky!

How are there so many trolls here now? It's like 50% of this thread. Anywho.....going 100% in-house for next generation drivetrain(or was it all components?) is game over for nearly everyone. At this point I don't see how anyone survives with anything near their current footprint. So clearly...

Hey-yoooooo! Super Bowl is over and I'm back in action. Anyone got a way to get invites for tomorrow's event in Austin? My roommate is in Austin with a friend and wants to go. I told him to just walk in, but thought I'd ask here anyway. Hold!

So what's the procedure when I have BPS with both ends DITM expiring this Friday? Assume I need to close the spread Friday before close of business for max loss? These are in my Fidelity IRA.

Not a NFLX fan, but listening to these shorts try to spin a good earnings quarter on CNBC is hilarious. I guess we'll be seeing a lot of this "fake news" logic from TSLA shorts tomorrow as well.

What do you think this is? Some kind of Tesla Motors club? Lol @ our recent troll density. Excited to turn the page tomorrow and move into the "real undeniable earnings era". If we can lock down TWTR and get past that too......gravy. 🚀🚀🚀

WTI down nicely since Monday morning, getting itself back into the plummeting trend. My hope is this is related to to the bear short squeeze and TSLA earnings are another huge punch in the face for the "bad guys".

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

I think they're gonna be considerably worse off when half a billion dollars in oil & gas profit isn't dropped in their lap every day. By 2028 that'll pobably shrink to what.....$50M? And down the tubes from there. Let's not forget they're not about to invest in this transition. While...

    Elon and Ukraine

Reading thru some of Elon's tweets.....he ain't entirely wrong. I know the tough guy act and punch-a-bully-in-the-face crowd runs deep here, but that puts end of days on the table. We don't need that if the only cost is Russia holding on to Crimea (a dbag peninsula almost entirely full of...

Trying to salvage some deeply ITM BPS for this Friday. Is there any way to eat a reasonable debit on these and roll to far higher strikes and just hope for the best? My alternative seems to be contract execution and total loss of cash margin, no? Currently have in my IRA: 16x BPS 10/21...

Elon pulls no levers until he has to. If we go deep into recession, I'm sure transferring FSD will magically become available. Unlikely that happens, so I think you're waiting til maybe 2025 when "the competition" actually shows up to the fight.

You mean the building that doesn't currently build anything and for which there's no plan have it build anything in the future? I think your concern that an empty building may not have enough power 2.5 months from now is a bit irrational. There are plenty of battery cells available.
  26. TheTalkingMule

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Huh? It's my understanding Tesla doesn't produce cells in Germany. Elon stated that global cell supply is no longer a concern. So what the problem?

I don't see this NASDAQ headfake/MMD holding, sentiment seems positive today. Shorts still feel short to me, time for more covering. Oil down on the rumblings of big repercussions for Saudis trying to cut supply even further. Good to see!

Nice to see: https://news.yahoo.com/dem-senator-calls-on-biden-to-cut-off-sales-of-anti-missile-systems-to-saudi-arabia-204420600.html I love the idea of taking missile defense access from the Saudis and hand it to Ukraine/NATO. Let them source something from their friends in China.

IMO I still think Elon would prefer to manufacture cells and even packs elsewhere in Europe. The German govt has taken a few pokes at Tesla to try and support VW, and I think Elon's response will be similar to when Panasonic tried to lean on him. There's no shortage of cells today, so he can...

Again, this does not fit the narrative. If you're not gonna drill and pump on a spike to $120 WTI and a Russian export ban......when exactly do you plan to drill? When EVs are at 40% of new cars? If investors and banks won't let you drill in late 2022, are they gonna let you in late 2024...

Implying that the oil majors and their largest investors care about something other than short term profits? Sorry, not buying it. Let's continue in the oil thread, there's a ton of interesting stuff to look at heading into the elections. Maybe supply is being held back specifically for that...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

And that's basically my point....these sentiments don't reconcile with the story being told. If supply is truly tight, then surely boosting Permian production via drilling is logical with WTI at $80-100. That was the whole point of the majors buying up the Permian. It's not like fracked wells...

Max pain is $225 tomorrow and there's a nice call spike at $220 too. MM's are more than happy to eat these share orders all afternoon just to print profits on letting those calls expire. Good volume today tho, so I wouldn't be surprised to see some covering in the last hour or AH. A glimmer...

I'm seeing commercial crude build of 9.9Mb and a SPR release of 7.7Mb. To me that's a crude supply build of 2.2Mb. And we continue to net export at a pace of 2+Mb/d of crude and refined products. All this with domestic crude production still 13% below pre-pandemic peak. Clearly some...

Oil recovering today, on "tight supplies". Nevermind the weekly US report indicated the exact opposite. I think this was a big part of the post-cpi hedge funder's plan. Once again they're executing a planned rally even tho the trigger event(a lower CPI) never happened. We're in a pattern of...

I think it's likely this. For me personally, I'm only holding puts as part of spreads and am exercising a long put for every early assigned short leg. I would imagine there are tons of people doing exactly the same. IMO these are all rolled remnants of positions opened earlier in the year...

We went thru this exercise last week. Institutional ownership of TSLA is about 43.5%. They need to get that to 60%+ in relatively short order, and making them affordable (or stealing them) is the first step. I suspect we'll be above 50% by the time 1Q earnings are coming out.

We're exporting record amounts of crude oil and refined products. Well above and beyond the amount of crude released from the strategic reserve. US demand for crude oil peaked 4 years ago and is headed downward while domestic production is today still 7-8% lower than pre-pandemic levels. I'd...

Elon's most recent commentary from Battery Day was that we could power the world 10x over with just solar and batteries if we do desired. I doubt he's gonna hold that thought in his mind and a willingness to explore satellite elevtricity.
