    Scraping noise over bumps

I had a rubbing noise at low speeds in my 2019 M3P. About two months ago I booked it in and it had both front control arms and lateral links replaced under warranty.

    M3P range

Ha! Thanks for checking. I was trying to mind a toddler and seemingly failed to multitask.
  4. Andrew_SE23

    M3P range

M3P from September 2019, so about 3 years 10 months old with 59,788 km / 37,151 miles. Sat in a bar in Brittany right now but 47% showing as 220 km, which equates to 268 miles at 90%.

    European Tesla road assistance

In the UK at least, they will flatly decline to deal with tyres. I would never rely on them in Europe.

Model Y onboard charger Voltage Tolerance?

I presumed that the low voltage threshold is determine by the charger firmware or the sow are running on the MCU, i.e. it is just a variable set to reduce any damage to upstream components and not a technical limitation of the physical charger. Is the message you mention from the CTEK...

    First drive few problems

Re the cameras, are you leaving the air conditioning on? It is a good idea to do so as it dries the car out and prevents fogging inside (and uses little energy).

Flimwell Supercharger - new parking fee?

I tweeted the UK tesla opener group. I doubt that the paid for parking while charging arrangement is allowable by the site licence but let’s see.

Flimwell Supercharger - new parking fee?

Charging and parking are separate acts according to the sign wording. See, for example, the term “No parking permitted for any other reason” after discussing the EV bays and charging. The sign is badly worded but a literal interpretation is clear (and contrary to all other similar sites). It...

Flimwell Supercharger - new parking fee?

I agree with @guru1 - a straight forward reading is that everyone pays to park unless they are dining at the named restaurant in which case they must register. The above may breach the agreement the car park owners have with Tesla but that doesn’t mean that you can, in turn, breach the...

    No power = broken window!

I’m just waiting for someone to tell you that they always lower the windows on their Tesla when their battery is low so that they can open the doors without damaging the car.

    Most requested features list

I don’t think that is correct. If you walk up to the car when it is locked and empty, the car will unlock due to your phone and let you open the door; however, the charging port will remain locked unless you open a door first.

EAP and FSD price at UK

I think that it’s a simple contractual issue that needs to be considered separately in each territory. There is a loss to customers who bought FSD as it has little residual value and hasn’t been delivered in a reasonable timeframe bearing in mind the average duration that owners of new cars keep...

EAP and FSD price at UK

The fact that the software sucks isn’t the fault of regulations, but because Tesla don’t bother to work on the software stacks that our cars receive.

Owning a Tesla in London without a home charger?

I did over a year with no off street charging in London zone 3 and it was fine. Pretty much all my charging was Source London utilising the overnight cap to bring price per kWh down. Now I have moved but there are loads of lamppost chargers near me and more every week so it would likely be...

Disc brake significant grooves - performance only?

So, these undisclosed simple step because cars with regen need to be managed differently. What are they? It seems that some of the disc wear patterns show uneven braking surfaces that regular hard braking would not help with.

just got this alert, not sure what it means

I had the same issue since the update a few days ago (USB drive error shown but drive still working). Just did a two button reset and it seemed to fix everything. I’ll post of the error reoccurs. UPDATE: error is back. I will just live with it.

Anyone had M3P brake discs replaced?

The argument that the OP’s issue is not covered under warranty seems to be flawed as he was operating the vehicle (in respect of braking) in accordance with the manual. The hard braking directed by the manual was to cure noise issues so is not relevant. The cause of the issue is not a lack of...

PCN at supercharger Kings Lynn despite reasonable efforts

I’d also suggest that anyone affected leaves a Google review. Keep it short, honest and accurate, but I doubt the hotel will change their policy of using Parking Eye unless the cost to their PR outweighs their commissions from Parking Eye from fines being issued on their land.

Wife, kids and dogs in a M3?

You could consider putting the single rear seat down. The middle rear seat is spacious, so both the kids should be happy. With the seat down there is a large area for the dogs and it will feel much bigger as the space would open into the cavernous boot.

    KICK mats?

I ordered these a few months ago and were very happy. They are pretty much unnoticeable, which is what I was looking for. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08V1NLCNN?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share My issue was a baby seat rubbing on the seat back when people sometimes moved the front seat. The clips used...

    Supercharger Scotch Corner Fine!

For the long term, I think the only thing to do is remember to go in to register for ‘parking’ and be an annoyance to the hotel staff by complaining loudly or trying to discuss the signage every single time.

UK and Ireland sub forum - your thoughts

To echo what has been said before, nearly every conversation we have is UK-specific either initially or eventually. This is generally because we get a worse service from Tesla pre and post-deliver. We get older and/or worse features for our cars that are frequently priced differently. We have...

UK accessories for RHD Model 3 [megathread]

I also got a frunk bag recently. I just had a baby so space is now at much more of a premium! Really happy with the bag (it was for 2019 M3) and would recommend it. I bought mine on eBay from a supplier that is no longer selling through the site, but said that he would be able to offer a...

    Charging in an apartment block

    Mattress Recommendations for Model 3

I’ve seen a few youtube people that were happy with a tri-fold memory foam mattress. There are a lot of width/thickness/cost options available. I’d imagine that this would be more comfortable than an air mattress in a model 3 as the back seats to boot aren’t quite level. The disadvantage is...

    Low Brake Fluid Warning

The original issue was that not enough fluid was put in initially. So during transit from the US, trapped air bubbles in the lines escaped and the fluid level decreased soon after first driving which initiated a warning. There was never any brake fluid leaking, just not enough being added...

For those whining about the UI in the last release...

I feel that it was easier to follow directions on my old 7” iPhone displaying Google maps than it was to follow directions on the old, larger Tesla UI. The contrast of the Tesla directions is not great and their placement on the screen keeps changing while driving. Also, the map zoom seems to go...

    Model 3 performance price increase

That seems like the best decision. I’m quite sure that Tesla largely price their cars based upon demand and competitiveness in the market, and I’d be amazed if the demand holds up. I bought the M3P over a year ago, but I don’t think that I would have paid the new price.

    Supercharger Scotch Corner Fine!

I’ve previously read that forum members have added to the signs for the benefit of other users so it could be that the paper notices are from them. Also, I doubt that Parking Eye have permission to add signage onto the Tesla chargers.

Show us your dirty pics - of your car au naturel

Photo of my dirty back end. I’ve got a Tesla ranger visit this week to replace a tail light, so I washed the rear panels today for him after I took the photo (obviously didn’t wash the whole car).

    Condensation in rear lights

I’m having a ranger visit in a few days to service the light cluster on the right in the photo. The car is about 14 months old and I think the water retention is new. Other rear lights have been misty, but never standing water. FYI: people have mentioned approving high value cost estimates...

Did you buy FSD (Full Self-Driving)?

I bought the MS with EAP. Like many people, I think I can say that I don’t regret it, but... - I would never argue that it was worth even the old lower cost, and - I wouldn’t recommend to a friend that they necessarily should buy it.

DC charge pins cover - a warning

I had one of the hard plastic eBay covers. It was a very loose fit and I found it on the floor near the car twice after windy nights with the charge flap open; third time it was not found. I didn’t bother replacing.

Cost for Model 3 Tyres from Tesla

I’m not sure of the official policy, but that was my experience about 9 months ago. The special Tesla recovery helpline were useless and washed their hands immediately. The service centre tired to be helpful in finding a local distributor of a replacement M3P tyre, but none were available...

    Facebook Tesla Owners Group UK

I joined the Tesla’s Owners and Model 3 Owners on FB. To echo what was alluded to above, there were a few toxic people in the general Tesla Owners Group on FB that made it a bit unpleasant. The Model 3 group was good, but posts there are often quite repetitive because new M3 owners/members are...

    Moving house

The issue could be a potential civil breach of contract claim if the charge point (a fixture) is removed without notice. However, the fixture could be negotiated as not foming part of the sale - speak to your conveyancer. It would not be criminal damage as you would be taking it while you still...

    Moving house

TBH, I’d check what the charger is going for second hand and then deduct any selling fees applicable. Then see if this would cover the cost of having it capped by an electrician plus leave you enough to compensate you for your time. I’m sure than anyone buying a second hand charger would be...
