    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Got the Tesla bug again (sold the M3P last year)... Placed an order for the MYP 3 weeks ago. I've also been changed in the portal to Jan-Mar -- it was Apr-Jun before. Maybe this means our orders are getting clumped together.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Yeah the blue line is on the whole time which means FSD active.

    Pretty interesting to watch.

    Numberplates mounted crooked

It's not a service NSW requirement they are full of it. If you email ServiceNSW ask for confirmation of this and send it to Tesla. This is pretty frustrating for you I can imagine. Tell them you are sending it to the Northern Territory. This is bordering on ridiculous...

Tell them you want to register it in ACT.

    Numberplates mounted crooked

We bought a 3 in Sept 2019 and a X middle of last year. If you say you want it unregistered (to register in ACT for example) they will just sell it to you unregistered.

    Numberplates mounted crooked

I bought mine unregistered in NSW. I told them I would pay for the rego etc myself. Easy done.

You can always ask them not to do it. It is your car after all.

Still have them. Haven't had the chance to post anywhere else yet lol.

    Should I chase delivery date?

Got an email from tesla today saying immediate delivery available on a range of M3.

    Tesla Model Y in Australia

Not even sure how they be a customer as they can't even order them here yet. In any case, being the first adopter for the Model 3 here I certainly hope they have fixed their issues. Was a bit of a hassle. But I imagine now that they are doing high volume deliveries it will be much better.

    Tesla Model Y in Australia

Tesla can ask for an embargo date on RVCS so in theory it could already be in the system and complied and we would see it on the release date.

    For Sale: T-Sportline 18" wheels (set of 6) w/ PS4 tyres (fits P3)

Yes you can, but the tyres themselves are summer performance tyres. Would suggest you get winter tyres. Or you could buy 2 more wheels from T-sport line and have a set for winter, and a set for summer :)

    For Sale: T-Sportline 18" wheels (set of 6) w/ PS4 tyres (fits P3)

Hi All, Up for sale are six T-Sportline 18" wheels, 4 of them with PS4 Michelin tyres, you also get the lug nut caps and Tesla logo caps. I will measure the tread remaining but it appears very good as the wheels weren't very old.. They also have Original Tesla TPMS sensors, (which are about...

Ovens site management encouraging ICEing of Supercharger stalls

I'm not arguing with you but you purport that somehow Tesla (with a market cap prediction approaching a trillion dollars) should be owed any sympathy, as if they are a struggling charity rolling out fast chargers. What exactly did Tesla say? Their "reputation managers" and BDMs seem to come out...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

My other complaint is you can truly see the stupidity of other drivers at work, my car automatically brakes while on autopilot right before the speed cameras on eastlink in Melbourne from 102 to 90. This has happened to me in both our teslas while on autopilot, indicating it is centrally...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I definitely have it on do not prompt for lane changes, but it still wants me to jiggle the wheel to confirm lane changes. The only time it doesn't prompt is when you are exiting, at that point it just takes over.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

What's frustrating for me having driven a US model 3 is navigate on autopilot in Australia requires a bump on the steering wheel to change lanes even though automatic lane change is enabled. Is this purely an Australian nanny state requirement? The US model 3 software seems to automatically...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

No it doesn't. It's working fine. Wifi has always been able to be activated in driving mode. You just need to click on the LTE button up top and turn it on.

My favourite new feature of the update is that solitaire can be used while driving, and so can netflix if you connect to wifi.

State based EV road user charge (Overturned 18/10/23)

Registration of imported vehicles is beyond my scope but if it is not RHD it will be much more difficult.

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Thief’s big mistake left behind in Tesla I don't understand how this car was even stolen to begin with. She must have either had a phone in the car or the key in her purse which was also in the car. Lots of missing information. I figure they don't want to publicise much as most insurance wont...

    M3P smelly aircon

Just threaten the Australian consumer Law. Tesla falls pretty fast if you threaten the ACCC. No reasonable consumer would expect their less than 1 year old car to smell when the AC is turned on. The fact they issued a software update to help with this is proof positive it's not a "normal occurance".

State based EV road user charge (Overturned 18/10/23)

    pretty much. It’s easy

State based EV road user charge (Overturned 18/10/23)

I definitely don't agree with that either. Carbon tax is a stupid way of achieving things.
  28. M

State based EV road user charge (Overturned 18/10/23)

There is no requirements for ongoing roadworthies in VIC. The other option is just to register in ACT again, same as when you register there to avoid stamp duty. It's more of a principal than the actual money. I have zero moral qualms not paying an immoral tax.
  29. M

State based EV road user charge (Overturned 18/10/23)

Not if you sell it interstate or to a wholesaler. To be honest I wonder what happens if you just don't put in your odometer readings.
  30. M

State based EV road user charge (Overturned 18/10/23)

This looks totally unenforceable. I either A) wont respond or B) will just outright lie. We have 2 vehicles registered. Totally plausible that we don't drive one.
  31. M

State based EV road user charge (Overturned 18/10/23)

I I won't be paying this fee if introduced in Vic. Happy to register the vehicle in another state, or flat out not keep a logbook. I find it counter to the implementation of a sustainable environmental policy.

Model 3 Australia - Massive Price Cut

I spoke to Tesla today and they confirmed they are coming from the US and the next shipment as well from the US. I wouldn't expect much from Shanghai as the only model 3's that are approved in Australia at the moment are US factory based.

Model 3 Australia - Massive Price Cut

I'm going to trade in my 2019 M3P+ for one of the new ones. Looks nice and I've already gone 24,000km in the current one. The new upgrades will be much appreciated.
  34. M

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

same for me, but it’s now doing it for every green light while at speed. No confirmation anymore. At some intersections it just says “slowing for traffic control” step on accelerate / gear to go full speed

Just call tech support or service when they are open and they can remotely push it. You can also brute force a chat with them with this link (as the chat box does not open all the time on their site). The link only works during business hours. Salesforce - Unlimited Edition

    [VIC] ASG 231

My favourite is when I saw someone turning down the charge amperage at a destination charger to make it "look" like they were still charging, but by slowing the rate effectively monopolising the charger for longer.

One Pothole, 2 Flat Tyres on a Model 3P+

Just an FYI the Tesla “T0” pilot sport tires just have a strip of foam in them. Have a read around to see how much of a difference it makes, as I understand it’s not much. Costco can also order them significantly cheaper than bob jane

Tesla registration in ACT, transfer to NSW

It's easy to do any you just provide a garaging address, no actual proof required. Especially useful if you do a lot of work in ACT like I do and just rent an apartment for half the year. You'll want to move the rego at some point when you are back in NSW because the registration fees in ACT...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I've come to realise the whole "checking for updates" thing is basically a lie. If you do a hard reset, then go into that same menu.. while the car has no connectivity (wifi or LTE), it will still quickly tell you "your car is up to date". I suspect it's essentially the equivalent of a crosswalk...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

The laws that apply to phones don't apply to the infotainment systems. If a carmaker certifies a vehicle as ADR compliant, there is really nothing the states can do. In "Australian Road Rules" which the states have adopted more or less universally, there is a special exemption carved out. For...
