    Phone App: iPhone/Android app

**Mods - I am in agreement with 99.9% of all of your decisions and 100% a fan. But when the iOS and Android threads were first merged this seemed like a big mistake. Each platform was bound to have different feature sets and release cycles. I think the comments since have only confirmed this...

"Unable to start update. Try again later."

As anxious as I am to get the update, I'm not quite that anxious. Would be interesting to see how someone else's care would handle that though... :)

"Unable to start update. Try again later."

Has anyone seen this message when trying to install an update before? I've tried rebooting several times and then applying the update with no luck. I do also have a message indicated that my 12V battery needs service. Unfortunately, the service center can't get me in for another week and a...

    Firmware 6.0

I've only tried if a few times, but the Bluetooth problems I was having previously seem to be gone since getting 1.67.42. Don't know if that was part of the bug fix or it was just the extra reboot that fixed it.

Is anyone going to order a 2wheel drive model S?

I think in the end there will only be 3 cars here: economy, range, performance. While there may be some folk who like the real wheel drive, if performance is your thing then you almost have to go for the P85D. Afterall, you're already getting less range and paying more than what the 85D would be...

    Firmware 6.0

I am having the Bluetooth problems on my 60 with v6 (1.65.15) pairing with iOS 8.0.2 on my 5s.

    Firmware 6.0

I've been having quite a bit of trouble with Bluetooth since getting 6. Every time I get in the car my phone tried to connect, fails a couple of times and then I get a message "Bluetooth resetting" and then everything works for a while. Anyone else having that problem?

    Firmware 6.0

Agree that this would be very nice. Unfortunately still not possible with 6.0.

What's your 6.0+ car name (if you are willing to share?)

Love that one. But for now I went with: Silent Bob

    Firmware 5.14

There are still several of us on 5.9. So there are actually a string of releases that have been halted before going out universally of late.

    NRG eVgo

I honestly don't mind signing up and carrying the cards for Blink and chargepoint since there's no monthly fee. Just not a big deal to me. But eVgo's monthly fee makes it a crazy choice for Tesla owners in Texas. There are always better options.

+1 Too many differences to lump them together.

H&R Block now supports EV tax credit (updated)

Ouch. I filed with turbotax last week. If it didn't send the form is there something I need to do?

    Flat tire procedure

So the end of my flat tire story is a bit uglier. Had the car towed to Discount Tire. Worst experience ever. First, they quoted me the wrong tires. Then when we got they worked out the tires had to be sent in from the local warehouse and that took all day. They never called me to tell me the car...

    Flat tire procedure

All was fine in the end. The tow truck driver said he had towed a tesla before, but when it came down to it, he didn't follow the directions from the owners manual that I had so kindly left on the screen for him. He also insisted on putting the straps through the wheels even though the manual...

    Flat tire procedure

Just had my first tesla flat after 23k miles. Though it was a screw, the air escaped very quickly. First of all, I liked the message the car provided. It was a cold morning and my first instinct when I heard the warning beep was that my tire pressure was low due to the cold. But a quick glance...

    NRG eVgo

Agree. If we could get a-la-carte pricing in Texas, I would be thrilled and eVgo would get some of my money.
  18. S

    NRG eVgo

When I talked to them the pricing on the website was for a "standard EV". They wanted $50/month for a Model S and closer to $100 for CHAdeMO. They said it was because the Model S batteries were larger than other EVs so we would use that much energy. My response that the bigger batteries meant...

    Unions

It bothers me a bit that some (not all) of the posters on this thread paint unions as all good or all bad. Unions do have a place in the world. Capitalism is the best economic system we have, but it's not perfect. It works very well when there are high numbers of buyers and high numbers of...

    Tesla Supercharger network

Jerry - Having watched your posts for a long time, I believe you to be an exceptionally focused and disciplined driver. I'm envious of those traits, but can't yet claim them myself. CC generally help with my efficiency as well. Without it, I tend to drift speed a bit without realizing it and...

Folks who stretched: Will you do it again given another chance or regret buying Tesla

I definitely stretched. I've never spent much on cars. My most expensive car prior to the Tesla was my 2006 Prius that I bought for $26k. In fact, I spent less on the 6 cars I've owned in my life before the Tesla combined than I spent on the Model S. I'm not wealthy and spending this much on the...

    Garage Wiring Fire

Every charging solution for the Model S involves some type of metal on metal connection. Plugging the HPWC into the car also is a metal on metal connection. All of those metal on metal connections are subject to wear. It sounds like your assumption is that it's impossible to design a connection...

    Garage Wiring Fire

What's the basis for this comment? Can you provide the engineering analysis for this? A great number of owners charge with the UMC daily and Tesla has never stated that this practice isn't recommended. If they feel that the UMC is engineered for daily use, what additional knowledge do you have...

Texas Supercharger Locations (location speculation, discussion)

Oh well. So much for my I20 idea. Looks like I10 is the way East. But the updated map doesn't mention Grapevine or Tyler...http://www.teslamotors.com/supercharger.

Texas Supercharger Locations (location speculation, discussion)

Great question. I wish I knew the answer. Like Waco v Temple, it might come down to where they get the best opportunity. My guess is that I10 will be the route to NO and Destin, and looking at the now crazy out of date 2015 map that was their initial focus. But that may have changed so looking...

Texas Supercharger Locations (location speculation, discussion)

East of Shreveport seems too far. They've been placing the cross country SC's so that a 60 can use them so you would need something between DFW and Shreveport. Also, thinking about east-west travel on I20, if you have an SC a little West of Fort Worth, then Tyler is the perfect place.

Slacker Any Song only worked in the beginning [Confirmed - pending resolution]

My play a song on request worked until this week. (5.8 change?) The other frustrating change that seemed to start at the same time was that I now get warning messages when I'm logged in on my PC and the car at the same time. Previously, it would just let me Slacker Premium account work fine from...

Texas Supercharger Locations (location speculation, discussion)

That's a fair point. Just not sure how many people have a similar use case. Personally, the investment in cross-country travel still seems to make more sense as a priority. Eventually, I'd love to see Superchargers everywhere.

Texas Supercharger Locations (location speculation, discussion)

For charging at an airport, a 110v is fine. Why go to the expense of Supetchargers?

Texas Supercharger Locations (location speculation, discussion)

Honestly, I'm happy either way as I plan to use both. Just hope Grapevine isn't next. I'm fine if they want to build it later for advertising purposes, but the first priority should be cross country travel.

Air Suspension no longer lowers at highway speeds (FW update v5.8)

I think Andrew is just saying that the improved handling is more important at 100+ and they might have decided that the safety advantage of that improved handling was worth the slightly greater risk of running over something. I don't know if that theory's right or not, but it seems to be a...

Petition to rollback 5.8s suspension behavior modification at high speeds

I don't necessarily agree with their decision to stop the car from lowering at normal highway speeds, but now that I know it will be addressed in or around January, I can live with it until then. No petition necessary; I'd rather just let the story die.

Keeping passenger comfortable while driver steps out

Thanks all. Had no idea this worked. Been getting out of the car and then turning the climate control on with the phone app. Kind of a hassle and once I got distracted before getting to that screen. Results in a very unhappy wife on a hot day.

Charged at the Domain last night for a bit (down for college visits with my daughter, not F1). The are doing test drives this week and one of their hpwc is not working. There may be more cars than chargers today by far.

Texas Supercharger Locations (location speculation, discussion)

Even if the I45 Supercharger's aren't complete, I recommend the drive. Drove to Houston and back from my house in Denton through Waco/Columbus last week and it worked just fine. Including charge times the trip was 7.5 hours which means about 7 hours if you're stopping in Dallas or Fort Worth. I...

Texas Supercharger Locations (location speculation, discussion)

I had a small problem with supercharger 4b in Waco. It seemed to max out at 85amps. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the cable, but that didn't help. I moved over to station 3b and it immediately jumped up to over 200 amps as expected. I tried the same stall about 2 weeks ago with no...

Texas Supercharger Locations (location speculation, discussion)

Thanks for the recon! I'm driving from Dallas to Houston again Wednesday afternoon. If Corsicana and/or Huntsville are powered by then my route will be very different. It would be awesome if you could reach out to Leslie early next week and post and update. Thanks again!

Any chance you know if they might be powered up in advance of the official opening as some of the other SCs have been?

Why is there a current battery supply problem?

My WAG has been that Panasonic was unwilling to sign the agreement until now because they were concerned about Tesla's long term viability and didn't want to invest a ton in new manufacturing for lion batteries if there wasn't going to be a long term market for that kind of volume.

Hotel/Airport parking in Texas with Charging Stations

Houston Four Seasons - Disappointing After a very good experience charging at the Austin Four Seasons twice now, I expected a similar experience in Houston. No such luck. I called three times before I arrived to make sure they had charging facilities for an electric vehicle. Every time I was...

Texas Supercharger Locations (location speculation, discussion)

For those with 60's, in case you were wondering, the drive directly form Waco to Columbus is definitely possible. I left Waco with about 195 miles of rated range, drove a ~2mph over the speed limit most of the way and arrived with 20 miles of rated range. Expect that is you had a full charge and...

First trip planning and a little range anxiety

Agree. I'm about to take a long cross-country drive in my 60 with 2 or 3 stops. Three things keep me from having range anxiety: 1. I planned ahead and have backup plans for every stop and in the middle of the longest leg (all RV parks). I can always use the app to find another charging spot if...

Texas Supercharger Locations (location speculation, discussion)

Anyone have any update on Huntsville? Have been hoping that it might be ready for my trip to Houston this weekend, but it's starting to look like my fastest way down might be through Waco to Columbus to Houston. Maybe I can at least take the fast way home on the 9th...

    Valet Parking with a charger

Just a gentle reminder to everyone so they can avoid the inconvenience I'm currently subjecting myself to... When a valet charges your car for you remember to make sure that the j1772 adapter makes it back to you with your car. All week long the Four Seasons in Austin did a great job of...

Texas Supercharger Locations (location speculation, discussion)

I agree that the crew was likely misinformed on 121/114. That location does nothing for people going north/south or east/west. Right now the map looks like it covers the east west route with something just west of Fort Worth. Really hope to see a station spring up north of Denton to close the...

    Panoramic roof creaking noise.

I had my roof fixed for the 2nd time last month. It's still silent, but temperature had a big impact before Nd the weather's been relatively cool. I probably won't fully trust the fix until next summer.
