Tasmanian Fast / Ultra Fast chargers

Yep - I think I was asking those questions about a year ago, so I am definitely sorted with a cable now! Over the weekend I tried out the Campbell Town charger, and was a bit alarmed to discover that the first stall I tried didn't work at all. Luckily the second one did. Although I had enough...

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

We live in Tassie - no superchargers! Haven't been able to use my credits at all. I did ask about that at the time of purchase, and they told me then that they wouldn't expire, but that was just one sales rep, so who knows.

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Yeah, if you were sitting on the fence you'd probably want to lock in an order quickly!

Rear Heated Seats upgrade for Model 3 SR+

I'll try and remember to have a look over the weekend, but I have a feeling we don't get them.
  5. Dave3333

Rear Heated Seats upgrade for Model 3 SR+

I haven't checked for that. Just to clarify though, which ambient lights do SR+ not currently get?
  6. Dave3333

Rear Heated Seats upgrade for Model 3 SR+

Yep, I also got it about a week and a half ago. It hasn't really been cold enough to try it out yet, but as I'm in Tassie I know it will come in useful!

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

I can understand that, but it's great on major highways or slowly creeping along in heavy traffic (in my opinion). You do have to pick your roads though, and you get used to recognising situations that are going to be tricky for it so you can take over ahead of time. At times I wish I had FSD...

    ChargeFox EV charging Network

Hah! Well, since they announced those grants last July there doesn't seem to have been a lof of noticeable progress on them (maybe there is behind the scenes) - except for Scottsdale, which does make the state a little top heavy with regard to fast chargers...!
  9. Dave3333

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Not yet. You can get it in the US, but it's not on offer here, and as far as I know there hasn't been any indication that it will be anytime soon. And I think it's only available on the performance variant (unless they've changed that to add the LR version as well). I have the black interior...

    ChargeFox EV charging Network

Nice! Now if they could only get that connected up quick and then get onto some charging sites elsewhere in the state too - their July deadline for all those installations will be here a lot quicker than they realise otherwise!
  11. Dave3333

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Maybe - although I only usually try it when I'm driving! The voice command I wish they'd enable is playing a particular Spotify playlist that you've already made.

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

I reckon you'll find that if you try it again, many of them will work. Because it's, errr, Wednesday. Or you've just had a cup of tea. Essentially I've found that they're a bit fickle between uses of the car. I use, "set temperature to xx degrees" as my barometer. If that works, then it...
  13. Dave3333

    ChargeFox EV charging Network

This happens to me too. I've never been able to log in to Chargefox via the website, only the app.
  14. Dave3333

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

I have the problem in my SR+ that the recording seems to be a bit flaky - I first tried a 128 GB pure Tesla USB stick, but after a few weeks that failed as the car would say that the write speed wasn't high enough. If you unplugged it and plugged it back in again it would be fine until the next...

How to get premium connectivity on SR PLUS?

I also see in the article that SR+ will get live traffic and satellite view on the maps with premium connectivity - which we currently don't get with our "trial". Hopefully they will be included when we eventually start paying for this. I'd be more than happy to hand over a reasonable amount...

    ChargeFox EV charging Network

Nice! I wonder how long it will be before it's operational? I would have preferred that it was somewhere like Perth, but at least they're installing them (and the more the better)!
  17. Dave3333

Tasmanian Fast / Ultra Fast chargers

Nice! Hopefully the "coming soon" translates into actually coming soon... I was hoping some would be ready by Christmas, but that doesn't seem too likely.
  18. Dave3333

Tasmanian Fast / Ultra Fast chargers

Anyone know if there's been any progress on the installation of these new rapid/ultra-rapid chargers? There haven't been any updates on the plugshare, chargefox or goevie sites regarding these for some time...

    Model 3 Accessories

We bought the all weather mats from Ali Express (Luckeasy, I think?). Anyway, they're good, but the two front ones don't exactly fit perfectly. Frunk mat and rear seat mats are good. The driver mat is not bad, although not super snug on the dead pedal. The front passenger mat isn't wide...

    Naming Your New Car

Ours is mostly my wife's car, so it's the "Mr Darcy" (Pride and Prejudice). It's particularly exciting when it rains...

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

This was the version 10 software update I got which added Netflix, Spotify, etc. to my car. This was the first version 10 upgrade that we got.
  23. Dave3333

    ChargeFox EV charging Network

Oooh! Right, will go give that a go...
  24. Dave3333

    ChargeFox EV charging Network

I also find the plugshare site misleading - It knows I have a Model 3 (great!), but won't show me the Chargefox rapid chargers near me that have CCS, that I know will work. It pretty much only shows Tesla Destination Chargers and wall outlets to me. Hence, I tend to look at the plugin from...

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Hey there - our car just updated to version 10 (SR+, no FSD) and my wife says she can't login to her Spotify account on the car - did anyone else have this problem?
  26. Dave3333

    Model 3 Accessories

Hey there, just got the car yesterday - so far I've only driven 3km (frankly, it's a miracle I'm at work today) - but I did get a good sit in it last night to check out the state of the accessories I bought. 1) PureTesla Cam USB stick - this seems like it will be good. Haven't checked any...

    Model 3’s Arrived in Tasmania

Hobart area. Our delivery is scheduled for the 25th. When they called me in September I think I was the first on their list as they offered me any time in that entire week. Sadly I'm away most of the week, so the 25th it had to be!
  28. Dave3333

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

The Chargefox chargers in Tasmania have CCS and chademo. And all the new superchargers (Chargefox and Evie) are required to have CCS and chademo. In Tasmania at least anyway. I assume that's true for elsewhere. Doesn't the Leaf use chademo?

    Model 3’s Arrived in Tasmania

Yep, the week of October 21-25. Yesterday I got FOUR emails from Tesla (almost unheard of), with a bunch of forms to fill in (registration) before delivery.
  30. Dave3333

    Model 3 Accessories

Bought the AliExpress ones. Although I don't have my car yet (next week), so can't really comment on the fit just yet!

    Model 3’s Arrived in Tasmania

Damn! That blue one could be mine!
  32. Dave3333

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

I'm not even sure we should joke about that!!!!!
  33. Dave3333

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

On the other hand we can generally guarantee that the cars will be running on renewable energy here though! Ah well - just glad that my delivery date is finally almost here.
  34. Dave3333

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Those of you in Tassie - another future owner just posted on Facebook that she got an email from Tesla confirming that her car is now in the state and getting processed before her scheduled delivery of Oct 21-25.
  35. Dave3333

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Started transferring payment for my car yesterday (daily banking limit means it'll take a few instalments). Just noticed then that the first payment I've made now shows up in my source code. Good to know that it's going through!
  36. Dave3333

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Yeah - they're generally a bit busy! Also, I don't think the sales department opens until 10:00am. I called the Melbourne Chadstone store directly yesterday and got straight through.
  37. Dave3333

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Likewise, I'd also be very interested in paying for this upgrade. Hopefully this (trial?) free connectivity is also still there when they finally start delivering to Tasmania. Curious question though - has it also unlocked anything else? Like the rear seat heaters?
  38. Dave3333

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

I wonder that if there is no longer going to be a mad rush (now that it's October), whether cars that are delivered now will be more carefully detailed? Might be the silver lining for those of us in Tassie still waiting for cars delivered on the Cap Capricorn!
  39. Dave3333

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

For those that already have the car - will a regular lightning cable not fit? Or do you need one of these L-shaped connectors? And if you do, how long does the cable need to be?
  40. Dave3333

    ChargeFox EV charging Network

Just sent Chargefox a message with a helpful suggestion!
  41. Dave3333

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Well my car was manufactured on July 10, arrived in Australia on August 16, and I got a VIN on August 30! Don't have the car yet - that won't be for about another four weeks...
  42. Dave3333

    ChargeFox EV charging Network

That would make a lot more sense!
  43. Dave3333

    ChargeFox EV charging Network

Nice! I see the "Central Tasmania" one is at Kings Meadows. I think I would have preferred Campbell Town (very convenient place to stop when driving between Hobart and Launceston), but I'll certainly take this! Hopefully Evie out one in Campbell Town then.
  44. Dave3333

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Or potential personal ramifications if the perpetrator figures out who you are... (slim odds I know, but stranger things have happened) Probably best to just leave it with the police.
  45. Dave3333

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

You could always move to Tassie... :) No Tesla store, No Superchargers, No Model 3 deliveries at all yet (about 4 weeks to go still!)
  46. Dave3333

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

I'm not an electrician, or have many skills in that area, so I wouldn't know. I do know that I was told that my house wasn't wired for 3-phase (I guess most homes aren't), but if you already have 3-phase then you're probably a step ahead of most of us! You could always call up an electrician...
  47. Dave3333

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Another guy on Facebook in Sydney was saying he got quoted $1,700 (although a slightly difficult install), so $800 doesn't sound too bad!
  48. Dave3333

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

I'm in that range, but delivery will be via truck in Tassie - hopefully I don't have any issues!
  49. Dave3333

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Just got an estimate from a Tesla approved electrician to install the wall connector next month (Hobart area), and it was far better than I thought - about $300. Although he did say that I've got one of the easiest installs he's ever seen!

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Mine arrived via email about 6 hours after I got the call.
