    1st World Problems?

I got mine at the end of Feb/2013 and I got an A pack. Wonder if I got one of the last of the A packs. anyway, I'm just waiting for it to fail any day now so i can get a B pack. I can only hope. Many of you mentioned here that you would not trade your current models for the newer one if it...

My regen was limited for no apparent reason?

Update to the temperature noted on dash and regen limit. Techs told me that the temperature shown on dash is different from the actual battery temperature--so regen limit is based on actual battery temperature of around 55F. seems bit high to me, but oh well.

My regen was limited for no apparent reason?

45F was the next day. outside. Tesla engineers said they found no problems and are blaming the "cold" regen limit as normal. They couldn't reconcile the contradictory temperature and mileage (higher temp showing regen limit while lower temp showing no limit). they said likely software...

    connectivity plan coming soon?

Funny you mention that. I just went through the whole switching plans for my 3 lines with ATT. I was a fool to not realize that caveat, and the store person said nothing about that. I went back the same day to switch back to my own plan and the persons who helped earlier said I never asked...

My regen was limited for no apparent reason?

I live near San Jose, Ca., and I have S85. Noted regen limit come up to 30kwh with outside temp around 55F. with 186miles rated several times since I've had the car for a year now. Most of the times, I've had full (normal charge) of 220 miles at 48F without regen limit. Seems random for me...

    The high-pitched whine during acceleration...

I get that same "whine" between 30-40mph, maintaining an acceleration of 15-25kW. noise started ~8-9000 miles and worsened over 3-4 months. I'm at 12,200 miles now. will ask when I take it in for an annual.

Older Teslas limited to 90kW Supercharging

What Bonnie says makes sense (I mentioned similar scenario earlier in my post) where Tesla genuinely thought the A packs could handle the increase in SC rate, but realized later that it "MAY" lead to more sensational journalism should even one MS catch fire while charging at a SC. So, they...

Older Teslas limited to 90kW Supercharging

@highedu...I tell that to my wife all the time and she just rolls her eyes. I guess I should just be happy that she let me buy the 85 battery after all.

Older Teslas limited to 90kW Supercharging

I feel "somewhat" betrayed, although that maybe a bit too strong. What upsets me the most is that as a VIN: 5486, it was a crapshoot as to whether you got A vs. B. I can't get upset about upgrades down the line that I didn't get (parking sensors, folding mirrors, etc) since that was never...

    connectivity plan coming soon?

I'm hoping that Tesla will not charge for the current 3G connection. However, they'll charge for 4G connectivity.

I didn't know how to add mine either. A type battery Model: non-perf 85 VIN: 5486 Delivered: 2/27/13 Max charge: ~80kW (although it was at Gilroy new charger with some issues--will try again at next trip).

I agree with you about clear communication. It's sorely needed.
  20. J

Older Teslas limited to 90kW Supercharging

Hans, what bugs me a bit is the fact that someone with lower VINs (mine is 5486, 85kwh) got "B" battery. Assuming "B" means it can take recharge at 120kwh, then, whether you got "A" vs. "B" is not clearly demarcated temporally. At the time I got mine in Feb 2013, some received "A" while others...

@apacheguy: thanks for the update--and specific timeline of the announcement--I couldn't remember. bottom line: No communication from Tesla regarding this issue.

Older Teslas limited to 90kW Supercharging

I believe there were announcements about faster charging coming down the pipeline that all model Ss will be able to upgrade with firmware on the cars (not specifically 120). what they didn't say was it would be limited to those with B battery (yet to be confirmed). There are some of those who...

Older Teslas limited to 90kW Supercharging

Well, just giving them the benefit of the doubt. but you're right. I wish Tesla would make an official communication. Also makes me wonder if "older" A battery vehicles were throttled down after that charging fire--also the reason for the newest firmware update.

Older Teslas limited to 90kW Supercharging

I don't feel screwed about + susp, folding side mirrors, or 500 mile range battery (for the future), but just as everyone else mentioned on the thread, I did expect my MS to have 120kwh charging and faster in the future. They made those announcements for all vehicles. they did not exclude them...

Pano roof (sun roof portion) not closing at highway speeds

Hi, I was traveling at 75mph with pano roof open to 80% (opened fine). When I tried to close it, it started to move for a split second, but then stopped at 78%. When pushed again, it moved to 76%. I slowed down to 60mph, but it would only close by 2-3% each time I pressed the button to close...

Air Suspension no longer lowers at highway speeds (FW update v5.8)

Another data point. went from 4.5 to 5.8. At 78mph, suspension at Standard. when I pushed Low, dash board warning: selected level is not available. Don't have to "balls" to drive much faster in the Bay area. There are too many crazy (idiotic) drivers here already.

What did you drive before getting the model S and why did you change?

camry hybrid xle. great gas mileage, but just not cool enough. economically speaking, for someone who drives less than 12,000 miles a year, camry makes more financial sense, but who cares, right?

Hi, I have similar situation with main panel being outside of my garage, pulling in 200A. My sub panel pulls in 100A in my garage. Solarcity placed a mini sub panel next to my sub panel drawing 50A, just for NEMA 14-50. ~10ft of wiring and a small sub panel added for $450 all together. I...
