Holy crap Tidal makes the audio system come ALIVE.

MQA is legitimately a downgrade and a scam, avoid it. I'm still mad at how it's also screwing with the lower quality options on Tidal as well. It does not improve the quality, it lowers it by actually making it lossy (yes, despite their advertisements to the contrary), adding noise to the songs...

    A/c fan seeming very loud

Actually it's 10dB that is perceived by the human ear as doubling the volume. 3dB is just a doubling of the power used, which is different. Using your metric, human conversational speaking volume (~60dB) would have been 16 times as loud as the A/C measurement here, which we all know is...

That crappy degradation chart made less crappy (you know the one)

The chart is still pretty difficult to read (aka, can be misleading) without aligning the x-axis among all the lines.

    Regen Braking with Brakes

I'm fairly certain it isn't able to regen to a full stop because the regen doesn't work at low speeds, not because they decided against it. To facilitate what you're asking, they would likely need to energize the motors to slow the car, using power in the process.

    Autopilot saved our lives

At this point I'm willing to believe you don't even have a Tesla. Your stories don't even line up with autopilot's current functionality. And even if you do, the fact you think it's on 90% of the time shows you're not observant. You can't even drive through a city without having to take over at...

    Autopilot saved our lives

Like I said, definition of survivorship bias. The fact that you haven't been in an accident yet does not say anything to the safety of the car whatsoever. And if you ever bothered to watch one of the many videos of what Autopilot "sees", you'd understand why it's insane to trust your life and...

    Autopilot saved our lives

If anyone ever needed a perfect example of survivorship bias, this guy is the definition. Statistics will claim you eventually, I just hope it doesn't include others.

Thoughts on the "World's First Tesla extension cord"?

Unless I'm mistaken, I don't think the Supercharger would cause a fire. Superchargers don't instantly feed maximum power, they ramp up to it. And it likely does this on purpose, analyzing the resistance drop as it does so, and killing power if it goes out of spec. So in theory, it should shut...

    Autopilot saved our lives

This should have been closed back when the guy literally admitted to breaking the law by driving while suffering from a medical condition that renders him unable to safely operate his vehicle. Bob: If you aren't trolling, take a taxi or stop altogether. When your ignorance gets a kid killed...

    A/c fan seeming very loud

I'm pretty sure this is one of those instances of "I only notice because there's no engine noise". My previous car had a noticeable A/C compressor noise when it was on full blast as well, but it was somewhat masked by the engine itself.

Let's talk about audio: Immersive Sound

Well, there's nothing pure about analog either, if you want to be that technical. The audio that makes it to vinyl is heavily modified from the master tape. High quality records require immense processing work to fit as much of the audio signal into the limited tracking size. They'll do things...

Let's talk about audio: Immersive Sound

I think some people don't understand that car audio is, effectively, impossible to get right. You have a noisy environment (unless you only listen while parked), very poor options for speaker placements, very poor acoustics in a car cabin area, etc. There's cars that cost 5 times that of a Model...

Let's talk about audio: Immersive Sound

The Bluetooth system supports AAC at bitrates of at least 256kbps. As long as your phone actually supports it, it should sound imperceptible in a car audio system. You're not going to be able to discern differences without a silent room and good headphones.

Navigation says “stay straight” on interstate/shows next exit (pic) What?

It would still be using Google's data for the route instructions, regardless of what service is calculating said route, it would bug out really bad if it didn't...

    Anyone tried this?

Unless you just really like the live content on XM, you'd probably be better served by picking up one of the many music streaming services available, and having your phone cache a playlist of music for your trip. Then you don't need cellular OR satellite reception, you have better quality audio...

LTE lost in underground parking. How to Recover?

No it doesn't. Cell phones will re-establish with a strong, usable signal within 30 seconds, regardless of time spent away from one. From a hardware standpoint, there is no reason for it to take longer than 15-30 seconds to re-establish with a strong LTE signal. Tesla either has a bug with the...

Navigation says “stay straight” on interstate/shows next exit (pic) What?

The map data is from Google, so if you have a map data error, you'd want to report it via Google Maps. Also note that Tesla only updates the map data every few months, unlike Google Maps where it updates map data every time you request a new route.
