    Third party charging in France

I found the Kiwhi card very useful (Auchan carparks mostly). Lidl has a lot of chargers that are free to use in their carparks. There is also Sodetrel/Izivia which is an EDF scheme. The house I was staying in had a 50kW charger near it, in a car park in the middle of nowhere, but the EDF card...

Seriously Considering Going Back to ICE

I think part of me hoped that when I posted those numbers, people's response would be 'there must be something wrong with your car'. But actually, the concensus seems to be that people would roughly expect that sort of range and have just learned to put up with it or never really considered that...

Seriously Considering Going Back to ICE

Exactly. It seems people are willing to defend the brand to the death (not a new phenomenon) but advertising and selling a car as having 257 miles range that can barely to 120 miles is a very real problem that I think people are entitled to feel mislead about. I'm pretty easy going and...

Seriously Considering Going Back to ICE

Yes, exactly. The real world range is a fraction of what you'd be led to believe from Tesla/Tesla diehards. I don't want to have to stick to 55mph on the motorway, it's not safe or practical. My original buying criteria was that I can make it work if it can reliably do 200 miles. That car was...

Seriously Considering Going Back to ICE

I probably wouldn't replace the model X with an underpowered diesel so could avoid those issues. I have other petrol vehicles that I use occasionally but really bought the X as the road trup, comfortable motorway car and it's struggling to fulfill those duties. Maybe that's where I went wrong...

Seriously Considering Going Back to ICE

Your second image is exactly what I had planned to do. But I got to Bristol with only 25 miles left or 16% ish. You're right, I could and should have stopped for a charge on the way down, but by the time I passed Membury services it was a margin call. It's just frustrating, as people have...

Seriously Considering Going Back to ICE

I don't think the 90 is the smallest battery pack, that would be the 75 on the X? I'm also not sure I would class 122 miles as very 'long distance'. I expect my average speed for the journey was more like 60mph than 80. I've never driven an ICE where the fuel consumption would double in 9...

Seriously Considering Going Back to ICE

I didn't know that going below 15% was bad for the battery, not that I do it often. I do normally use the expected arrival percentage and find it to creep up a few % as you get closer to the destination. Yesterday it did the opposite and continued to drop after I got out of the car. It was only...

Seriously Considering Going Back to ICE

I've had a few and I suppose it is partly the devil you know. If you are mechanically minded enough to spot issues before they become problems, and stick to the maintenance schedules, I don't think Range Rovers are any worse than any other brand I've owned.

Seriously Considering Going Back to ICE

I did actually ask Tesla to look at my battery pack to see how it was doing. They said it was performing 2.9 percent better than the average for that model and year. I assume they wouldn't make that up and it seems consistent with a few of the degradation threads on here. I might start looking...

Seriously Considering Going Back to ICE

I'll try this tomorrow and see how it affects the range. Thanks.

Seriously Considering Going Back to ICE

Yeah, I suppose my other option is an X with a bigger battery pack and newer self driving tech. Starts to get incredibly expensive for marginal gains in improvement though.

Seriously Considering Going Back to ICE

I've owned a 2017 X90D since May of 2019. I bought it on 35k miles, it's now on about 41k. There is lots about the car I love. Free unlimited supercharging and being able to charge the car at home for next to no money is fantastic. I think I'm probably saving between £3-5k a year on running...

    Blocked Charger!

I had to push on the other end of the charge port to get it to open. Should the port open when you press the button on the charger, even if the car is locked? I like to think there must have been something wrong with the car because the alternative is to believe someone could be that much of an...

    Blocked Charger!

This X has been here for over two hours. Cribbs causeway is a super busy charger and I really need a charge. Tried plugging it in but it wouldn't let me. No sentry mode and the Tesla store can't do anything apparently. Suggestions?

    X: What's your 90%?

2017 X90D with 37k miles. 214 miles @90%. Took it into a service centre last week who said the battery was actually 2.6% better than average for the 'fleet' and that Tesla had intentionally reduced the max mileage showing in order to be more realistic. Sounds like bull to me.

    X: What's your 90%?

    Hmmm, 215.
