Practical kilometres in a M3 long range

2022 M3 LR went from Canberra to Central Coast and back again, just under 400km trip. Used 75% of battery going there and used 85% coming back. EDIT: We used to do the trip in our S85 and stop twice, once at Goulburn and again in Sydney (Broadway and then Macquarie Park when it opened).

Fixed my squeaky seat (issue I haven't seen on the forums)

Nice, thanks. I will investigate and report back regarding heatshrink if need be. Simply rotating the black plastic inserts seemed to have helped mine.

    Lowering the Tesla Model 3

It is weird there is not at least one workshop in Canberra looking to specialise in Teslas, at least that I am aware of. We have so many Teslas. I'd be surprised if it is not the highest market penetration in Australia. Back on topic, I am still looking at just lowered springs at this stage. I...

Fixed my squeaky seat (issue I haven't seen on the forums)

To add another data point, I have a MY2022 AWD LR M3 with a squeaky drivers seat because of this metal rod issue. Both plastic gaskets were in place. I rotated them around by hand and it seems as though it has mitigated some of the squeak noise for now. Just be aware the metal frame part of the...

High Mileage Model S/X Owners and Battery Degradation in Australia

Teslafi indicates 345km at 100%, 180k km 2014 S 85. I might do a BMS cycle/reset and see what it comes back with. Have not done one for ages.

    Lowering the Tesla Model 3

I haven’t purchased springs yet. I have reached out to UP and did not get a reply from David, but got a reply from a US-based member of their sales team. Not sure if the previous Australian rep is active. Pricing was around 900 USD shipped which does not make them competitive. I was after a...

    Model S aftermarket speaker upgrade

Yep, here you go: Tesla Model S Audio Installation – event mechanics Still have not got around to building the amp mount properly. With a 12in sub and proper amp, it sounds pretty good. Definitely loud enough for me. I have a DSP ready to go but not sure if we will upgrade to MCU2.0 and keep...

Group Buy - Eibach lowering springs for Model S

I would love to, that is ultimately the best option, but we don't seem to have any suppliers in Australia. The most reputable it seems like is Airtekk. There is a set advertised on ebay for very cheap but I am not brave/stupid enough to try them. My interest in all this is making the car more...

Yeah it sucks because they were a good option for used Teslas.

Carsales Extended Warranty: $4000+ Tesla Repair

Annnd it has been approved. Pretty good turnaround, just over 24 hours. So, almost paid for itself with first claim. Another 18 months of warranty to go.

Carsales Extended Warranty: $4000+ Tesla Repair

Delayed response! Yacht floor, no sunroof. I'm back here because I am trying to use my carsales warranty for the first time. Their warranty business was bought by The Warranty Group. So far it has knocked my confidence a little. The new number to call returns a recorded message about a...

    Did I invest too much?

Can you expand on what you mean by this please. The second hand automotive market is traditionally 4 or 5 times the size in terms of value compared to the new car market. Are you suggesting they are working to remove inventory and therefore produce a scarcity? Or that they are trying to...

    Why i'm trading in my 2018 P100D

Owning a later model S is a bad idea if your interest is in the latest tech, as OP suggests. Really now you'd only want a Model S after March 2018 or so from possibility of proper FSD etc. However, if all you want is an EV, then the older Model S (pre-facelift) is an excellent buy compared to...

Vendor Scan My Tesla, a CANBUS reader for Android

Hey mate, just wanted to say I’ve read through this entire thread and I wanted to thank for being a champion. WTB: 19" Tesla Model S Base Wheel (non-slipsteam)

I went with one of the eBay sliptsreams in the end. Comes with a tyre. Can't really be beaten in price for $300. For a spare it is fine.

Another front suspension control arm failure

This is the AWD technical diagram from Tesla's parts microsite. Bolt/bushing 11 correlates with approximately with the wear location. I imagine the arrangement would be slightly different for my RWD 85.

WTB: 19" Tesla Model S Base Wheel (non-slipsteam)

I'm after a single 19 inch wheel to use as a full size spare. There are various Tesla wheels currently available on eBay. The sale section of this forum is mostly US-based items and therefore not really effective for Australians. I'm hoping someone has bought a set for the same reason and is...

Another front suspension control arm failure

Just passed inspection last night *phew* Our statuary requirements for car dealers in NSW is that buyers get 3 months/5000km warranty. Im in ACT so need to have car inspected as interstate purchase. Failing registration inspection is clearly grounds for remedial work. The warranty insurance...

Canberra based Tesla friendly workshops for rego transfer inspection

Bushing failure front suspension, lower left control arm fouling on bolt at full lock. Bushing are one of the well documented problems. I've yet to hear back from them since last week and I've chased them up.

Canberra based Tesla friendly workshops for rego transfer inspection

I took it to the main inspection site in Hume. They identified an issue. So I've taken the car to MIT Automotive in Fyshwick so the issue can be addressed under stat warranty claim. Apparently they've done registration inspections for some Teslas previously.

Another front suspension control arm failure

I just bought a second hand Model S that has failed a registration inspection for transfer because one of the inspectors picked up on this exact problem. Left hand side. I’m in Australia so RHD car, not sure that makes a difference. 2014 Model S 85.

Canberra based Tesla friendly workshops for rego transfer inspection

Yes, this is a dealer purchased car, still has to be inspected. There is a good description of the process and a list of workshops that can inspect on ACT Gov website, but I was hoping for one that already had experience with Teslas. Even things like jack/hoist mounting points etc. I've booked...

    New and Used Prices

My issue at the moment is waiting for our Model S to be transferred to our Tesla account. It's been a week. Some US members were told 30 days. I find it frustrating that it is pitched as car plus platform. We're waiting for Tesla's 'service' to catch up. (Would we be waiting if it was a new car...

    Taptes Center Console Delivered Today

Here is a RHD Model S from Australia with the Taptes Centre Console Insert. Overall it is pretty good. The mechanisms for the piano black tilt compartment and the longer sliding sections are not as good compared to the rest of the design. I have carpet in my centre section and I'm not sure...

    New and Used Prices

IMO having gone through the process of researching all possible hidden costs and contingencies there is a big problem with the secondary and tertiary markets for Tesla. The new car value is designed to be competitive with other new cars, but the lack of proper general servicing expertise and...
