That was my understanding as well. But @KCapital indicates otherwise, at least at one Service Center.

May I ask which service center provided the quote for the RFS install? Working with Highland Park, IL, service center concerning whether they can install RFS after purchase. Also interested in whether one can install in any model year S? Looking at 2020s as well as prior model years...

Absolutely true if your only goal is to get there without running out of juice. Not the case, in my experience, if you are attempting to optimize for sufficient charge AND time.

Sorry, @dmurphy, I missed your initial post above. Yes - ABRP is, in my one trip experience, time optimized. Tesla Nav would do fewer stops with longer drives in my experience, while ABRP would optimize for fast (low charge state to mid-charge state) charges that reduce total charging time...
