    Washington State Vehicle Sales

March 2024 Update Compared to February, overall vehicle sales increased by almost 2,000 to 23,198. However, BEV sales were down 739 vehicles, a 21% drop from February. BEV's were only 12% of all sales in March; both ICE and HEV increased their share of vehicle sales. Most of the drop in BEV...

    Supercharger - Kirkland, WA (LIVE 7 Dec 2023, 12 V3 stalls)

It looks like there are plans to double the number of stalls at this location. There's a recent permit for 12 EV parking stalls on the same parcel as the current Supercharger and the contractor is listed as "TESLA ENERGY OPERATIONS INC".

Supercharger - Issaquah, WA - Gilman Blvd. (permit Feb 2022, 16 V3 stalls)

More activity today, with a bunch of excavation work done and dirt getting taken away. There are still 8 Supercharger cabinets on site, but apparently that was a mistake and only 4 will be used on this site, with the other 4 being used elsewhere.

Supercharger - Issaquah, WA - Gilman Blvd. (permit Feb 2022, 16 V3 stalls)

I checked the location today - no progress - no digging has been done yet.

    Supercharger - Sammamish, WA - Issaquah Pine Lake Rd (pre-application, 8 V4)

Moderator note: The first half-dozen or so posts in this thread came from two different threads that have been merged together. There's also another application for a location a couple of miles away from Klahanie on Issaquah-Pine Lake Road. Note that neither of the applications specifically...

Supercharger - Issaquah, WA - Gilman Blvd. (permit Feb 2022, 16 V3 stalls)

No digging yet. There's a large area fenced off with the supplies as previously shown. No-one was there working, so I couldn't ask for more information. I took a closer look at the supercharger cabinets. There is 8 of them and from what I could tell 4 cabinets are labelled V3, and 4 cabinets...

Supercharger - Issaquah, WA - Gilman Blvd. (permit Feb 2022, 16 V3 stalls)

I'll try to head down there early this coming week to find out more. According to the plans, there are only 4 SC cabinets plus the switchgear cabinet for 16 stalls. Electrical design specifies total design load of 1548 KVA, with 4 cabinets at 387 KVA each). It does look like there may be room...

Supercharger - Issaquah, WA - Gilman Blvd. (permit Feb 2022, 16 V3 stalls)

Here you go. The pizza place is the building on the bottom right. I think the dig ticket is stating they'll need to dig in front of the pizza place (which is west of the building) for the main site and to the north for the pizza building for the electrical vault and connection.

Supercharger - Issaquah, WA - Gilman Blvd. (permit Feb 2022, 16 V3 stalls)

I got details of this future site by submitting a public record request to Issaquah! Here are the main points: Is going to be located opposite Tutta Bella pizza, off NW Gilman Blvd. 16 V4 charging posts. Posts have payment capability, so I assume open to NACS. Hopefully we'll see a dig ticket...

    Supercharger - Sammamish, WA (LIVE 12 Mar 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

I believe this is recent - the Tesla supercharger map on their web site shows a new Bellevue location opening in 2024. Much needed addition to the existing 8 x 72kW site.
  13. P

Supercharger - North Bend, WA - North Bend Outlets (Permit applied 1/9/24, 24 V4)

Great that you found the permit. Tesla updated their charging locations on their web site in the last week or so and I saw that North Bend was now shown; I don't think it was there before. Forthcoming 16 stall Issaquah Supercharger is also shown, but I think was already listed. 16 new stalls...

    Supercharger - Sammamish, WA (LIVE 12 Mar 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

It’s in the app now (although photos are incorrect!) and listed on Tesla web site :) Currently $0.25/kWh at all times. Not open to NACS.

    Supercharger - Sammamish, WA (LIVE 12 Mar 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

Disappointing to see that the site not open yet. They have started to fill in the trench where the power was brought in and all around the electrical equipment, but that's it. Given the charging posts are in a different location, I think they could have opened the site without the landscaping...
  16. P

    Supercharger - Sammamish, WA (LIVE 12 Mar 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

We now have a meter! The trench still needs to be filled and all the landscaping needs to be done. The charging posts still have their covers on and the "Tesla/Charging" only signs need to be attached for the parking spaces.
  17. P

    Supercharger - Sammamish, WA (LIVE 12 Mar 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

I checked yesterday - no sign of any Tesla chargers; the property manager was vague, but I believe this permit is for future resident AC chargers.

    Supercharger - Sammamish, WA (LIVE 12 Mar 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

One other thing ... I checked the Sammamish permit - it was marked as 'Finaled' on Tuesday 2/20.

    Supercharger - Sammamish, WA (LIVE 12 Mar 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

There's now a transformer. No meter yet. Lots of landscaping to do.

    Supercharger - Sammamish, WA (LIVE 12 Mar 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

More activity today - wiring up the new switchgear cabinet and getting wiring prepared for transformer. Really friendly worker was there who told me transformer is getting installed tomorrow. He thought the site could be ready to go in about a week; mainly depends on inspections.
  22. P

    Supercharger - Sammamish, WA (LIVE 12 Mar 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

Finally some progress! The fencing was open, so I could get a good look. A pad-mounted switchgear cabinet has been delivered - PMH-9 from S&C Electric Company. I assume the tie in to the high-voltage supply under the road has now been completed. Presumably a transformer is needed and would...

Supercharger - Issaquah, WA - Gilman Blvd. (permit Feb 2022, 16 V3 stalls)

This is progressing about as well as the Sammamish Supercharger ... correction required on the second land use revision.

Puget Sound Energy (PSE) - time-of-use pilot

My feedback to PSE would be that the difference between TOU and standard rates isn't enough and may not incentivize enough people to move. My blended rate for TOU is 11.8 cents per kWh compared to 13.4 cents if I was on the standard rates. It's easy for me to shift loads though, so I'll take...

    Washington State EV Infrastructure Funding

TL;DR - IMO, the $75 is put towards a huge number of transportation items which don't seem to further the goals of RCW 46.17.324, the $75 charge. Hydrogen fueling stations, electric school buses, lots of studies! Most of the money seems to be transferred to the 'multimodal transportation...

Puget Sound Energy (PSE) - time-of-use pilot

For some of those in greater Seattle, I thought I'd raise awareness of the pilot that PSE is running that should, in theory, benefit EV drivers. PSE states the program is fully subscribed, yet some customers may still enroll???? PSE: Time-of-use (TOU) pilot program / rate summaries I've been...

Supercharger - Issaquah, WA - Gilman Blvd. (permit Feb 2022, 16 V3 stalls)

Washington State Vehicle Sales - December 2023

The data for vehicle sales in WA was made available this week from Dept of Licensing, with sales based on new vehicle title transactions up to end December 2023. This data has been filtering to only include cars, SUVs, and trucks. Question: What is the market share of ICE, hybrid, and EV...

    Supercharger - Sammamish, WA (LIVE 12 Mar 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

The trench in the road that was filled in last Friday has been dug up and widened this week. There's now a bunch of steel plates on the road covering it. The conduit has been extended and runs into the trench. According to one of the guys there, the next step is for linemen to finish hooking...

Washington State EV Population - December 2023

This is the first of two posts that provides information about EV adoption in WA State as of end of December 2023. Both posts use the data provided by Washington State Department of Licensing, which is updated monthly. In this post, 'Electric Vehicle Population Data' is analyzed, which lists...

    Supercharger - Sammamish, WA (LIVE 12 Mar 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

Some progress ... the trench in the road was being filled in today, so they must have reached the powerline, but metal plate still on sidewalk and all the conduit and vaults still exposed. Slow!

    Supercharger - Sammamish, WA (LIVE 12 Mar 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

A lot of activity today and I managed to talk to a couple of the guys working on the project. They are digging a trench out to the middle of the road to hook into an existing powerline that is there. The power is being brought back to a transformer that will be installed underground in one of...

    Supercharger - Sammamish, WA (LIVE 12 Mar 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

Looks like they did some excavation around the vaults so that conduit could be placed.

    Supercharger - Sammamish, WA (LIVE 12 Mar 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

This latest ticket looks promising. I took a look at the location today and there are a bunch of new markings in the parking lot, on the NE 8th sidewalks and on NE 8th itself. I'll aim to head over there in the week to see if work has started.

Supercharger - Issaquah, WA - Gilman Blvd. (permit Feb 2022, 16 V3 stalls)

Permit issued today. Let's hope construction moves quickly. Look forward to reports of construction starting, hopefully soon.

Supercharger - Issaquah, WA - Gilman Blvd. (permit Feb 2022, 16 V3 stalls)

The 3rd review corrections were processed quickly and approved 12/4. The permit is now "Ready to Issue" (just need payment to issue). Can anyone change the title - the title states 8 stalls, not 16 as in the permit.
  41. P

Supercharger - Issaquah, WA - Gilman Blvd. (permit Feb 2022, 16 V3 stalls)

Corrections must have been supplied - the third reviews are assigned for the remaining two items:
  42. P

    Supercharger - Sammamish, WA (LIVE 12 Mar 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

Checked today - no changes. The vaults are still exposed, so looks like power is still required. Maybe waiting on Puget Sound Energy?

Washington State Vehicle and EV adoption - October 2023

I thought I’d share some of the data from a project I have been working on to perform analysis of EV adoption (using Microsoft Power BI), especially with some recent media stories of EV adoption falling, EVs not selling, and Tesla losing market share. I was also inspired by the work from James...
  44. P

Supercharger - Issaquah, WA - Gilman Blvd. (permit Feb 2022, 16 V3 stalls)

Second reviews have been completed. Most items now approved, but two corrections are required for 'Engineering' and 'Engineering Tech'.
  45. P

    Supercharger - Sammamish, WA (LIVE 12 Mar 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

I checked the Dairy Queen location today. There's nothing there - no markings and no digging. IMO it would be a terrible charging location - too cramped and not enough parking spaces for the businesses there anyway. Compared to the current NE 8th location (near Kumon & Mod Pizza) with the...
  46. P

    Supercharger - Sammamish, WA (LIVE 12 Mar 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

Significant changes - presumably the work covered by the One Call ticket. Large trench with four concrete electrical vaults placed in it. I was wondering where the transformer was going to go, so my guess in on one of these concrete vaults. As there's four of them, maybe they're future...
  47. P

    Supercharger - Sammamish, WA (LIVE 12 Mar 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

Was just there - some progress, but not much! The Drybox container has gone and the fencing has been taken down (still needs to be collected). There are thin black posts now with the pedestals - look like they're for "Tesla / EV Charging Only" signs. Still no sign of the transformer and meter.
  48. P

    Supercharger - Sammamish, WA (LIVE 12 Mar 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

Some progress over the last couple of weeks ...
  49. P

    Supercharger - Sammamish, WA (LIVE 12 Mar 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

Good progress this week - huge hole filled and most of the island created where cabinets and transformer will be located.

    Supercharger - Sammamish, WA (LIVE 12 Mar 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

Got a few minutes today to look around and get a few photos. I was surprised at the amount of construction involved, which seems to be due to where they decided to locate the pedestals. There's a trench from the pedestals to a huge hole in the middle of the lot - see the photo with the conduit...
