Supercharger - Sammamish, WA (LIVE 12 Mar 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

Significant changes - presumably the work covered by the One Call ticket.

Large trench with four concrete electrical vaults placed in it. I was wondering where the transformer was going to go, so my guess in on one of these concrete vaults. As there's four of them, maybe they're future proofing, so can easily add more charging posts and associated cabinets?

Definitely looks like 8 more stalls. 2 small ones are for SC cabinets, mid sized is for switchgear cabinet and large one is for transformer. Maybe with needing to bring more power in they decided to add more stalls.

Any chance you checked out the Dairy Queen for activity?

I checked the Dairy Queen location today. There's nothing there - no markings and no digging. IMO it would be a terrible charging location - too cramped and not enough parking spaces for the businesses there anyway. Compared to the current NE 8th location (near Kumon & Mod Pizza) with the recent digging and new vaults - there's loads of space there for another 8 or more charging posts - and it near a substation!

My guess is that the One Call ticket for the Dairy Queen location is invalid - it was quickly followed by the ticket for the current NE 8th location, plus a bunch of the companies on the ticket have responded stating invalid location or no markings present.

Thanks for checking!

Gotta be the longest supercharger construction ever! Haha

A bit to go. Stalls up Aug 2022 and just turned on Nov 2023.

Not even, one in vancouver around 440 days, castlegar was over 400, tukwilla was over 400, and I can't remember where but I think one was reported over 700.... can't swear to it. The good news is, I track 3 provinces and 3 states and used to be like 24 under construction, down to 15 so they moving right along!

This latest ticket looks promising. I took a look at the location today and there are a bunch of new markings in the parking lot, on the NE 8th sidewalks and on NE 8th itself. I'll aim to head over there in the week to see if work has started.

A lot of activity today and I managed to talk to a couple of the guys working on the project.

They are digging a trench out to the middle of the road to hook into an existing powerline that is there. The power is being brought back to a transformer that will be installed underground in one of the concrete vaults. Power then goes to the existing equipment to power the already installed charging posts. They didn't know if there would be more stalls added. They didn't have any information regarding when the transformer will be installed and overall timeline.

I’m not sure if any of those vaults is big enough for an underground transformer unless underground ones are half the size of pad mount ones.

The trench in the road that was filled in last Friday has been dug up and widened this week. There's now a bunch of steel plates on the road covering it. The conduit has been extended and runs into the trench.

According to one of the guys there, the next step is for linemen to finish hooking into the high voltage electricity supply in the road. He didn't know when that would happen, but said it might not be that soon as they're really busy at the moment. The slow progress continues!
