Solar power math for a custom camper shell on the tri-motor.

I hadn't even thought about angle. Hmmm. So what if we added a low Profile camper shell extending up the Apex/peak of the triangle roof. That would add a bit more square footage. Awesome post

Solar power math for a custom camper shell on the tri-motor.

I love how there's a ton of replies yet only 1 other answer that actually does the math. Let's figure out the math peeps. Everything else is a moot point until then.

Solar power math for a custom camper shell on the tri-motor.

Thank you! I was using 5 hours of daylight. This seems more doable.

Solar power math for a custom camper shell on the tri-motor.

I think so. In order to anchor the shell, the cover would have to stay open. Unless the exoskeleton is magnetic which is being debated right now. In that case, industrial magnets like the ones that keep police lights on the top of their car might work.

Solar power math for a custom camper shell on the tri-motor.

The idea is too put the needed amount of solar panels on a custom camper shell. So please keep that in mind.

Solar power math for a custom camper shell on the tri-motor.

If we assume a big 200kwh battery on the tri-motor, how many solar panels would we have to put on the camper shell to cover a daily 40 mile commute? My math is at 15 of the 250w panels based on a 3.8Kw/day need. Is this right?

We can tow 5th wheels! Here's how...

We can tow 5th wheels using a 5th wheel tow dolly. Something like mrtrailer.com. So I guess we have to subtract weight of tow dolly and weight of 5th wheel from our 14k on the trip motor.

    5th wheel towing?

So it can tow 14k lbs. For those that have seen the bed first hand, think we can put a 5th wheel hitch in it?
