Does this sound like control arm?

In Fairbanks, AK and I have a 2020 M3 with only 15k miles and the squeaking and creaking and had a loud crunch too. Is really loud. Started when we got back from winter travel. People turn and stare. Have been waiting for mobile service for 7 weeks now. Injected some grease and now it squeaks...

Precondition car plugged in vs not plugged in

I have had my M3 plugged in and sitting for two months so far, in temps as low as -10 and it does wake up and charge a bit every day. Local mobile service guy said better to leave it plugged in and keeping battery up and allowing updates to load than to unplug the battery and store it inside...

Engineering Explained- wheel size effects on electric cars

My AWD M3 has never spun a wheel except when stopping on a transition from gravel to pavement or when I stomp it on snow. The front wheels stopping on the pavement have better grip but the rears back on gravel will skid a little.

Charging Issue Level 2 at Home

So, I Tweeted Elon this morning and asked for the update NOW. Within an hour my car was updating to 2020.36.15 and, YES, it is now charging again! I have Tweeted Elon twice, and as if by magic, my two issues were resolved. Never got a Tweet back but both times it seems to have been a good thing...

Charging Issue Level 2 at Home

Mobile tech told me yesterday it is not the charger and is a software issue. He also has told me it is limited to AK and some areas of CA with fires. Not. But, 36.15 gives me hope. It has been over two months of this nonsense.

Good information MOMedic82. Thank you and good luck.

Charging Issue Level 2 at Home

Put in the surge protector and, as expected, no change. I still cannot understand how the car can accept the mess my 8kW generator gives it but not the pretty good wave our utility sends us.

Charging Issue Level 2 at Home

Looking at the waveform (shown in previous message) on my utility and that on my generator makes me laugh. The utility is giving what you would expect but the car will not charge on 120V or 240V. My old generator with lots of noise charges the car at 240V 24A just fine. ???

Charging Issue Level 2 at Home

We put a old scope out of the barn on it and were not surprised. Our grid power looks like a typical sine wave, proper frequency, voltage and pretty clean. My old generator had a bit of noise from the rectifiers and such but cleaned up under 22A load. Scope vertical would not cal so you get what...

Charging Issue Level 2 at Home

I had a FM radio failure on a update last winter. Then I had complete HVAC failure after another. Now, after another one in August we started with intermittent charge interrupted and now that's all we get on 120v or 240v (unless we are on our generator). I will be waiting on the upgrades after this.

Problems with home charging after over a year of charging with 240 V 30 A

I followed the link to the other thread mentioned above and it is a better place for this message. I copied it to there. Charging Issue Level 2 at Home

Charging Issue Level 2 at Home

I put this on another thread before I found this one, Here's my tale of woe. Our (Dec 2019) M3 LR AWD charged on a 120V receptacle all summer just fine. Ran 12A and we got 5 mph. A couple of updates ago (before Aug 26) it started giving us intermittent "Charge interrupted" messages. It sits at...

Problems with home charging after over a year of charging with 240 V 30 A

Our M3 LR AWD charged on a 120V receptacle all summer just fine. Ran 12A and we got 5 mph. A couple of updates ago it started giving us intermittent "Charge interrupted" messages. It sits at 120V and 0 amps with occasional trips to 1-2 or even 3 amps but then drops back to 0. After a bit it...

Blog Musk Touts ‘Quantum Leap” in Full Self-Driving Performance

I'm with you Wingsy, I'd also like it to drive to my home at the 35 mph speed limit instead of suddenly slowing to 20 mph and even crossing the centerline in curves. But, I have to say when driving it on Interstates and such it is grand. I DO WANT POTHOLE DETECTION!

Will not charge after software update

Once again, immediately following a update I have had another failure. First it was loss of FM radio, then we lost HVAC after another and now we cannot get the charger to work. All LEDs on the cord, the car and the display say green and charging but no amps flow. Eventually it stops trying and...

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

Got update 2020.28.5 yesterday. Now the battery will not charge. It sits at 120V and 0 maybe up to 2 amps occasionally but sits at 0 most of the time. Then, after a bit it stops charging and says to reset. Anyone else?

I’m sorry I claimed Tesla support was helpful

After trying to reach a parts person in any Seattle area store for weeks I sent a unhappy message to customers support. I had left phone messages, emails and even had a sales person in the Westlake office send the service team an email requesting they give me the part numbers and price for a...

Is the insane lack of email responses/customer service I am experiencing common?

I have never had a good experience with Tesla via the app, emails, phone messages, or texts. From delivery that was a cruel joke, to no-response from service to questions or suggestions, and I have tried calling and emailing the parts department in Seattle-Westlake multiple times in an effort to...

Our Model 3, 2 years later

We love our Model 3 and while it has had two minor failures, temp sensor and no FM radio, and one manufacturing error (glovebox is bent) which is waiting mobile service, we are happy with the car. As for Tesla Customer Service, it is worse than any car company I have dealt with. After a lousy...

    Source for OBD cable?

And how did I end up here in Model S land? Oops, back to model 3
  23. R

    Source for OBD cable?

Thank you. Is that the cable for a model 3? What I have seen elsewhere is more of a T with the OBD connector spliced into the Tesla canbus. This looks different. I sent them an email.

    Source for OBD cable?

Ah yes, of course I found Maxwell as soon as I posted the above.

    Source for OBD cable?

I ordered a cable from GPSAmerica on May 3rd. I have never seen it and, I did not notice the NO TRACKING listed with the $10 shipping option. They don't sound like they will be offering me anything. So, looks like I am looking for a new supplier. Where is the Maxwell Automotive you folks have...

    Rust Oleum experience

How about using Rain-X on that area if that's where the snow and ice need to be minimized? Or maybe adding a heating element to that area if you can get to it inside the body? What is everyone doing to headlights? Isn't it hard to keep LED headlights clear with no heat from the bulbs?

Delivery... No word from SA or updated documents in account

We took delivery in Las Vegas on December 6th and have yet to see the Manufacturers Certificate of Origin which we need to register the care and our lender needs to get the title. Not one person at the delivery center including the manager has returned our multiple phone messages, texts, emails...
