I have an MCU1 vehicle with the non-operating USB music issue. I just was notified of 2020.12.11.5 software update availability. Hoping this fixes the issue. Has anyone else updated and did it solve the problem?

Since it was warranty work they would only replace the exact part, so I got a "remanufactured" MCU1. I assume this meant that they replaced the troublesome eMMC chip off of another failed return unit.

This will be my first SU since they replaced my MCU1. Fingers crossed.

Here's a bit of irony for you...

The SC would only say “the computer needs to be replaced”. I’m assuming they meant the eMMC crapped out, but they wouldn’t elaborate. Interestingly when I looked at the part they replaced, it had a “REMAN” suffix on it. I interpreted this as a refurbished MCUv1 with a new chip installed. YMMV.

My software update is also stuck for 4 days running now. Car is driveable with basic driver's display, but no touchscreen, nav, HVAC, music, etc. Service appointments in Houston are now 15-20 days waiting time. If so many people are having the update issue, why aren't they pushing out a bug fix?

Well, for one thing you can use voice commands to search for an artist/song/album on Spötify now. I was teetering on the verge of accepting an invitation to purchase Echo Auto for that reason and now I don’t need to have another peripheral junking up the car.

You can sort the order of your playlists using the webpage version of Spotify, not the phone app. Just drag and drop in whatever order you want. The playlists will then appear in the same order on Spötify Tesla. It only works for the playlists though. I like to keep the ones that update weekly...
