2019 Tesla Model X Trunk Panel Removal

Nope. Unfortunately haven’t had the time to look into it any further. Hopefully someone else can chime in and provide assistance.

Not sure what I’m looking for but everything seems ok

2019 Tesla Model X Trunk Panel Removal

So anyone done this yet? Looking into doing mine tonight but don’t want to break anything.

Beware of the $100 that is not being credited on final contract

Just FYI I had the order fee twice on mine. Once when ordering via credit card and once in the finance contract. No-one on the phone could figure it out went in to service center and they said it was a mistake and created as case for me. About 10 days later had $100 credit to my credit card...

    Extension Cord?

If you’re charging regularly on extension cord go with 10awg. For rare or emergency use I’d be fine with either 10 or 12awg 50’. In fact I’ve got a 50’er 12 Awg in frunk right now.

    Charging over amp limit: 34/32A

Haven’t seen it on my 3, but likely because you’re slightly under voltage. I believe the UMC rated to provide 7.7kW. Volts X amps= watts. And it’s the watts that matter here. So really nothing to be concerned unless you’ve get heat and voltage drop via undersized wire.

    Waxing Model 3

Turtle wax Seal N Shine. Slightly less glossy but much more tenacious than everything but a ceramic.

    Coating/Sealant Advice

Cquartz is high very good. Can use Cquartz UK 3.0 for $80 or Cquartz lite (like I did) for 50. Avail online at several retailers. FYI paint protective film doesn’t stick well to ceramic (found out the hard way)

    Tax Questions (specifically TurboTax)

This is correct. TurboTax was rejected earlier in the week. Refiled on Friday and was accepted. The number you put in is 7500 then adjust down to 1875(for me purchased in December). Otherwise TurboTax is fantastic

Got an 85D as a loaner... handles surprisingly well vs. my 3

I had a ‘16 P90d loaner for a few days. I also thought it handled very well. However the seats were much less comfortable. Also the range dropped like a rock. I’m sure it was faster than my 3 AWD, but in insane (not insane+) mode seemed similar. I did really like the EAP on AP1.

    Dinged!

Bummer. Drop something on it? Yeah don’t think the paintless dent guys can fix that ( but doesn’t hurt to ask.) There were some paint blemishes on the bumper of my new 3 but wasn’t interested in an aftermarket respray. Seen several resprays that were worse than original.

Battery Management System - What I Learned At Tesla Service Center

Thanks, I put mine on % so don’t get concerned with stated range, but occasionally take trips that use 95% of battery (250 miles on LR AWD in winter)

Battery Management System - What I Learned At Tesla Service Center

I understand the once in awhile, but am wondering if this affect the actual range (number of miles that can be driven), or the “stated” range. In other words does this process just affect the interpretation or actually range vehicle can be driven?

    Outdoor home charger doable? Cost?

14-50 outlet can be use for nearly any EV. My Juicebox Pro, (for Pacifica PHEV) uses 14-50 also. Ironically I charge the Tesla on a 6-20 (240v 20amp) because the range on the van is so much less we need to quick charge between trips.

    Buy or pass?

Unless the deal was stellar, I’d pass too. I’m sure he’d be able to sell to someone else as there are people lined up for 3s. There will always be other deals (perhaps not quite as good), but without some known problems.

More charging stations or better range Tesla?

I’d say either. I drive about once a week to the ski slopes 95 miles each way. So standard range 3 or X wouldn’t do it round trip. (Winter, 90% interstate, thru hills). So if there was a supercharger within some miles, otherwise must get LR vehicle. Unfortunately in Indiana there’s no charging...

    How to remove this?

Try Goo-b-gone. Then clay bar. Do not recommend magic eraser at all. Of course DA polisher with orange pad and ultimate compound would take care of it too

    Real life with ceramic coating?

cQuartz lite here. Two coats. Of course prep took much longer than actual coating. I topped it off with Seal N Shine, which is amazing by itself.

    Tesla’s Auto Insurance

I’m not in California, but would worry about umbrella coverage excluding tesla warrantied vehicles. Of course doesn’t matter if you don’t have an Umbrella.

    Million mile motor?

I had my front drive replaced about 2500 miles from oscillating noise/decel clunk. No idea what the failure was just replaced entire drive (line replaceable unit). I don’t think we’ll find much info about what the actual failure is, as they don’t replace individual pieces, just modular units (LRU).

    Ghosting windscreen model 3

I had problems with my wipers skipping off the glass and it turns out there was something contaminating the outside glass. I don’t know if it was clear coat overspray, fallout or something , but I polished it with orange pad on DA polisher and it solved the problem. This could be similar...

Locations for Clear Bra, Paint Protection, ETC

I do it myself using cQuartz lite for ceramic coating and ppf from Clearmask.com. Clear mask has taken a month to deliver both times I’ve ordered from them though. Just watch some YouTube videos on how to apply both. The ceramic coating took about 4.5 hours to do two coats (prep and apply)...

    Rubbing noise/clunk on decel

I’ve got a ‘20 Model 3 AWD LR, got on Christmas Eve. Currently has 1900 miles on it and I love it, but... shortly after pickup I’ve noticed an intermittent rubbing noise. The noise is like a rub that oscillates faster with faster speed. Rub...rub..rub.rubrubrub faster and faster. I’ve taken both...

Needs recommendations for polish and pads for windshield

You want the windshield treatment, not the cleaner/repellant.

Needs recommendations for polish and pads for windshield

I certainly wouldn’t use any steel wool, but polishing glass is quite common although a clay bar does usually do the trick. Mine must have had some overspray on it as it was almost tacky. As for applying a sealant, you could get wiper noise from using a ceramic or polymer sealant on windshield...

Needs recommendations for polish and pads for windshield

First post! I got my new model 3 and noticed the wipers were horrible. Lots of streaking and skipping on windshield. I used megs ultimate polish and a standard orange pad, using cross-hatch pattern. Made huge difference. After I applied two coats of rain-x and is now great. Cancelled my mobile...
