The’ve got the registration number wrong again! What to do!?

Thanks Cardo, great tip. Luckily live not too far from MK SC - picking up plates later! Tesla systems say that the plate should be what’s on the V5 …but that wasn’t the case last week as their system allocated that reg. Lets hope someone isn’t running around with the plate i’m putting on and...

The’ve got the registration number wrong again! What to do!?

Had a previous Model 3 and got told what the registration would be, insured on that basis - car turned up with a completely different plate on it. But the V5 turned up and matched what was on the car. Picked up my new car at the weekend. V5 just came in post with completely different...

    Back End Stepped Out

Yep, i’ve done it too i both a 2014 Model S RWD and my M3P….gonna stay away from the ‘track mode’ switch (appropriately named - not for use on her majesty’s highways)

    Indicated Range 2021 vs 2019 Model 3 P

George, you are the man! Exactly the specifics I was looking for. Great info on option codes in image string. …I can see MY317…so question answered. A big thank you! Ashley

    Indicated Range 2021 vs 2019 Model 3 P

Thanks Testy - i’m on my 4th too - and aware that bigger batteries (as per previous S) show longer range on screen. So my question stands - for those who have the update Model 3 with the supposed larger battery show more than 310 as the max range?

    Indicated Range 2021 vs 2019 Model 3 P

Folks, just picked up my new Model 3 P…to replace a Model 3 P. My understanding is that from early 2021 the battery was slightly larger (82kw vs 77kw) and i expected the max range displayed through Tesla app or Stats app to be slightly larger. However my new one states 310 miles …which is...

    Model 3P 2019 vs 2021/22 model question

Folks, i currently have an M3P, delivered March 2020, so US built and pre double glazing, power boot, battery upgrade etc. It’s a company owned vehicle and i’m changing jobs. Thinking about getting another with the new job and want to know: - Are UK M3P’s now built in China, and if so better...

    Range increase on 2020.24.6.1

And i just thought it was me! i briefly saw 326 range on my M3P when i first charged after 2020.20.12 whilst my charging rate dropped to 16amps! It then reverted to 310... (Stats App 100pct range). Bugs, showing the entire battery as range when its meant to reserve some, managed to improve...

Return of phantom 16 amp charging

Yep weirdly mine charged fine last night too. I do have a service call logged and they said they would remotely diagnose...wonder if the service team push code as well as pull data? Still on 20.12

Return of phantom 16 amp charging

This is interesting and i suspect behind the charging at 16amps rather than 32, i.e if some maths is one binary digit out then the value is halved in decimal...someone got their maths wrong in a bit of code.

Return of phantom 16 amp charging

Maybe we should all start tweeting Elon. After all an electric car that isn’t charging properly is a fundamental issue that needs to be fixed pdq. Can’t be hard to do a code diff between last release and this one to see what’s been changed that will affect the charging rates. Then fix and new...

Return of phantom 16 amp charging

Ditto, got a text message earlier and replied with info. Hopefully enough of these will generate a fix / rollback!

Return of phantom 16 amp charging

I have the same issue so it definitely looks like a bug. Did a big journey yesterday. Charged to 100% did the round trip and down to 30 miles of range remaining (lowest i’ve used the battery). Started charging last night at 32amp, then after a while dropped to 16/17 amps. Stopped it and...

    Norfolkngood

^this Big trip to Norfolk coast this weekend and back. Planning on using the SC at Elveden but have no idea how busy it might be - do any of you have experience? If busy may need to come back via Necton instead

Why are all the apps, maps, info, etc. so sh*te?

Has anyone found a good app / map for charging station information, etc. as far as I can see they are all rubbish, or poor at best, designed by what appears to be 2nd rate designers and developers. i.e - Tesla can't tell you historic informaiton of how busy a supercharger site is, i.e. days of...

Model X Performance - brief thoughts

Agree with the comments on the paint and fit / finish. Have the car detailed and ceramic coated will help how it looks and its longevity. Had exactly the same issue with the passenger tail light. Mobile service actually changed it yesterday. Came a week early which was nice, texted in...

    New Polar 150kW chargers, MK

As Norfolk Mustard says Polar was a Chargemaster brand, then BP acquired Chargemaster. They were based at Capability Green in Luton (may still have an office there). In fact I met the CEO one Sunday about 4 years ago when both of us were getting our Model S’s cleaned at a local hand cash wash...

    Ceramic and PPF

Funny story regarding the Lambo. When i dropped off the e-Niro last Saturday neither of my kids wanted to come - but we had to take one otherwise they’d likely kill each other. My little boy (big car fan) won the call, so my daughter came. Took a picture if her in front of the Lambo and texted...

I bet Graham was less than impressed with his door being damaged! Yes they do a good job. Just about to pick up the Kia...i’m sure that won’t make it to his gallery pages give the finery currently on display!

    Ceramic and PPF

Such a coincidence...i missed you by minutes today. Dropped the Kia off and saw your Tesla parked up. Graham tells me you have a rather nice private plate going on?! Was due to be collecting Wednesday too, but work got in the way so will be picking up on Thursday.

    Ceramic and PPF

Hey Anthony, has Graham done the work for you now? Are you pleased with the results. ...just about to get Azuri to Mrs D’s Kia e-Niro too. Gtechniq only though, no PPF :)

    Ceramic and PPF

btw - he did my number plates too. Stick on vinyl one looks so much better - even if not strictly legal since the front of the car isn’t completely vertical. However i figured folks who butcher the spacing of letter / use screw heads etc to make it look something it isn’t are much more likely to...

    Ceramic and PPF

Some *really* nice cars. Though Graham is the first to admit that he generally posts this stuff, but also does a lot of more ‘normal’ cars. When i dropped mine off there was a Mini being done. Hopefully he’s doing the centre console in PPF too for you - so much easier to clean off finger marks...

    Ceramic and PPF

Hi Anthony and Ant - yes Graham and the team do a deep clean and paint correction (to get rid of swirls etc) first as part of the cost. They really did a fabulous job. Meticulous, sent updates every day with pictures, talked me through everything they’d done when i went to collect etc. Graham...

    ICE disappointment

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head regarding the gearbox. DSG / Tiptronic / slushmatic sap the fun out of driving ICE cars. Previously had a Golf R in manual form and i found it so much more engaging to drive than the DSG version i tried before buying. Wife had SQ5 Plus and though...

    Range Showing When Charged

Folks i’m not overly concerned since i’ve only have my M3P for 6 weeks and 400 miles since lockdown, but wanted to see what others display on range. When charged to ‘daily range’ @ 90% it shows as 280 miles. I only charged once to 100% for the one long trip i’ve done and it showed 310miles...

    Ceramic and PPF

Folks I just wanted to put out a recommendation if you’re looking to get either / both of these done. Home - Azuri Car Care Graham and his team, based in Stevenage, just detailed my Black M3P with Gtechniq (the top end Crystal and Exo) plus PPF on the front bumper, sills, inner edges of the...

    Ceramic Coating Advice

Price is about right, actually reasonably good. Worth every penny, makes it easier to clean, protects from bird sh*t, tree sap, etc. You will need to top it up every year or so (less than £100 ish). Had 3 cars with Gtechniq applied and well worth it. I have a new M3P in black too and...

How noisy is your A/C compressor from outside

300k in an Elise is hugely impressive, both the car and you! I traded in my S1 135 Sport against the Esprit. I then went to a 997 C2S, but it was never a patch on the Esprit to drive nor as an event. Now being an all electric household, i keep looking at S1’s to have as something for fun.

How noisy is your A/C compressor from outside

Ah OK, thanks. Either it’s ‘normal’ or we’re both unlucky! It is surprisingly loud. With your username, I assume you’re a Lotus fan too? Many moons ago had a V8GT Esprit in Norfolk Mustard!

Model 3 cover available in the UK

Gtechniq crystal serum pro is the Daddy. Had it on 3 cars now and yes it isn’t cheap, but worth every penny - great protection from birds and tree sap, etc.

How noisy is your A/C compressor from outside

Just moved my new M3P (had 2 weeks) and it was 27 degrees inside, but a/c was set to 19. Compressor kicked in and when i got out of the car it was still running - and surprisingly loud. A low / mid range loud buzzing sound. Is it normal to be quite loud and buzzing? Thanks in advance

    2019/20 Orders and Deliveries [closed]

Hi Harv3y i got mine yesterday delivered from Heathrow, 2 cars in a covered small transporter. So only had 10 miles on it. Chap who brought it said It was pandemonium as Tesla were trying to deliver as many as they could. He worked for a firm that usually transported racing cars and supercars...

Should just be able to call them and make the change. They’ll likely charge you a fee for the change, but shouldn’t be more than £40. If you did it less than 14 days ago, remember you’re stilling the ‘cooling off’ period anyway.

My car just turned up on a two car transporter, very happy to see it. Only issue is that the reg number is different to that which they told me...and I specifically asked them to confirm it yesterday on the phone when they said they’d deliver in. And of course LV phone line is closed today...

Many thanks, i was hoping someone would confirm similar, ie most likely the poor, confusing Tesla systems combined with current pressures. I’ll call them again tomorrow to confirm. Its a real shame they don’t have a better order tracking, delivery, invoicing etc process - if they did they’d...

Folks, anyone else seen the following? I’m meant to pick-up my car on Friday. Yesterday (before lock down) i called Tesla as i still hadn’t got a final invoice. The chap i spoke to pressed the appropriate buttons and i got the ‘Final Invoice’ on the Manage Page. Great... ... I now have a...

A true moral quandary... Sadly my father died recently and is being buried next week. Tesla Brent Cross is between me and the funeral home and cemetery. Do i collect the car on the way? I know what the answer is really, it’s just hard when you’ve waited exactly 4 years for the car
