    2013 glove box won't open - solved

hi all, spoiler: this was Tesla Service's fault! I noticed a while back that my glove box wouldn't open, but it was a low priority issue for me. I thought it was going to be a simple fix. In the end it was. Usually I can use google and this forum to diagnose the issue really quickly, but I...

audio stutters choppy at start up / booting up

I think ANY. But I only use Slacker and FM Radio. Definitely with the FM Radio. With Slacker, it may just result in a long pause or network error. But I think it was both.

audio stutters choppy at start up / booting up

I may have found the solution - probably relates to MCU1 and "Energy Savings" turned "ON" After turning that "OFF" I think that solved multiple issues including this choppy audio

taking long time to turn on / start up: 2013 Model S 60

thanks all! @earcandy -- thank you -- the energy savings was turned "ON" so I turned that off and I think it has solved the issue. Subsequently, I found a similar thread (not for lack of searching) that had the same advice...

Taking a long time to get rolling.

@AustinP -- thanks I was looking around the forums for information on this issue and I think your post solved my issue. I'm still scratching my head how various updates have changed how the car performs. That is, I think I had "energy savings" turned to "ON" but my car used to start up /...

audio stutters choppy at start up / booting up

2013 Model S 60 s/w ver 2020.48.37.8 During initial start up, that is, turning the car on, the audio often comes on but choppy, stuttering. It lasts for 5-10 seconds and then recovers. This is not a huge problem by itself, but I'm wondering what else it might indicate / what else is going on...

taking long time to turn on / start up: 2013 Model S 60

2013 Model S 60 s/w ver 2020.48.37.8 By taking a long time to turn on, I mean, open the driver door, get into the car (with key), sitting in the seat, brake pedal pressed and . . . waiting . . . waiting for the car to boot up. This used to be almost instantaneous upon getting in the car. Now...

eMMC recall replacement - had 3G to LTE modem replaced for parts cost

hi all, dropping to see what other people's experience has been with the eMMC recall. I have a 2013 Model S 60. I got the letter, like most people did in March 2021, but then didn't hear anything after that. I finally started contacting Tesla via the app to ask for a priority replacement in...

eMMC issue? Only the eMMC or more? And can 12volt battery cause issues?

2013 Model S 60,000 mile (March 2013) So, I think Tesla is being really shady with me. I was having a lot of problems with the screen and infotainment system going back to May/June of this year. Tesla SC said that had to replace the eMMC / MCU, sent me a bill to authorize and then told me it...

Warranty Adjustment Program – Touchscreen Component email - Wow - watch for it

2013 Model S 60,000 mile (March 2013) hi all scanning this thread and trying to watch others too. So, I think Tesla is being really shady with me. I was having a lot of problems with the screen and infotainment system going back to May/June of this year. Tesla SC said that had to replace the...

Vampire drain, how much is normal per day or overnight?

Thanks for these replies. Well, let me add some more info, because the 12 volt battery comment is really insightful. So, I had my 12 volt battery replaced in April. I actually had to wait 4 months for the part to come in, so I was pretty pissed. I was sending Tesla Service cheeky modified...

Vampire drain, how much is normal per day or overnight?

Hello all, I have early 2013 MS60 (yes, still, yes original owner). Lately I have noticed a lot more vampire drain when the car is in the garage. For purposes of this thread, please note that I am combining all my observations relating to leaving the car overnight (unplugged), leaving the...

eMMC issue? Only the eMMC or more? And can 12volt battery cause issues?

Hi all, first, I apologize if I failed to search existing threads and find all this info already. I did go pretty deep in the eMMC wiki sticky, which was very helpful. But it didn’t answer all my questions. I have a 2013 Model S 60kwh with about 54,000 miles on it. I did not have the eMMC...

    Key Fob solutions

@ Kevin Thank you!! I agree. I hate the FOB. I was going to start a thread about a blog that doesn't look like a cheap hot wheels car. I assume that before too long there will be parent blog posts that say "6 months later and we found the Tesla key in the kids' toy box." This was another...

Coated windshield impacting door openers and EZpass

@Cheerose not exactly what you were asking for, but here is this got Peach Pass to work (in case any of you are still having issues) | Forums | Tesla Motors you can also go to the peach pass website to see the rfid strip. To answer your question, I could have used the front bumper mount, but...

60kWh supercharging - I want my money back please!

@StephRob - highly sympathize with your frustration on this issue. Like you, I opted for the 60kWh option. For me, buying this car was a stretch purchase. I didn't want to sit on the sidelines and say how cool it is. This, for me, is one small example and individual actions can lead to...

Coated windshield impacting door openers and EZpass

just to add my 2 cents (to this dead horse?): I have two AVI/RFID type stickers, Peach Pass (Georgia tolls) and one for my work garage. It took some experimentation, but as a couple of other people already noted (and I thought I was going to be the first), I have slide each of them under the...

    Where to hang a coat?

I gave Ownership Experience a work around for the hanging a coat/dry cleaning. I didn't read all the pages in this thread to see if someone else came up with the same idea. What I told them was that where the rear seat reading lights are, that they could go back to their plastic injection...
