Agreed, I decided after I posted to go and learn more about vertical weight (As I have never heard that term) and all references I found always equated it to tongue weight, so it is probably an extra safety measure as you observed.

You may want to pop over to this thread: Platform bike rack as it was pointed out by another poster that that the 350lbs is not a vertical weight limit and that it is limited to 160lbs vertical. I need to go reread the newest manual with the hitch info it seems, as that was a surprise to me.

It may sound a bit crazy but each part has a lip on it so, in theory, you could cut the rear panel into two parts and still have it work in most cases. Not a perfect solution but it could be a feasible option.

The call and text were reminding me that they sent the email and to fill in the delivery form. They called again this morning and I spoke to them and they said they were going to get the final report of what people submitted in the next few days and will have more info about delivery next week...

I ordered when the mileage was increased early this year, though I did have a reservation on reveal day that I cancelled to invest instead. I have a Blue LR AWD + Induction upgrade. I got the email yesterday and the call and texts today.
