Post your Travel trailer that you tow with your Y

Here are the length and rise limits per the manual for the hitch: "Attaching and Removing the Ball Mount The Model Y towing package does not include a ball mount. You must purchase a ball mount suitable for the type of trailer you are towing. The Model Y hitch receiver supports a ball mount...

Post your Travel trailer that you tow with your Y

One camper I was looking at, sadly it was delayed, was the nuCamp Barefoot because of the footprint and aerodynamics....plus love the retro modern look. Travel Barefoot - nuCamp RV

Post your Travel trailer that you tow with your Y

That was my situation at a KOA in Glenwood Springs. I had a 30 amp line for the camper and a 50 amp line I used for the car. Had a couple of times where it said the 50 amp wasn't grounded and the car wouldn't charge but got it to work by changing the order I turned on the breakers. I have seen...

Post your Travel trailer that you tow with your Y

Wish the range boost had come in a week early, but happy to have it for sure. I did speed down to make sure I had a little more padding in some areas, and some areas were only a 55 limit so that helped. The range impact from the rack is negligible from what I have seen having it on empty, and...

    Cheap tool for hitch cover

I printed mine a fraction smaller than the original, and with a bit more infill, and it works perfectly! LivingTesla to the rescue.

Post your Travel trailer that you tow with your Y

Haven't committed to anything yet but rented this little guy (T@B 320s) and took it into the Colorado Mountains. Going up the range experience was super impacted and the trailer was well under the Max 3,500 lbs. At a full charge, I was running at 25-35% efficiency at max 60 mph (806 Wh/Mi)...

    Model Y towing/tongue capacity with 20" wheels

I posted this on another two hitch post in this forum somewhere but wanted to share it here. It is a screenshot from the in-car manual and it clarified the 3500 vs 2300 etc. I had checked it after the install as I wanted to buff up on the towing package. It says the 20" wheels with up to 3...

    Platform bike rack

Consensus on this forum, probably not as there are a lot of options out there. For my part, I genuinely think the Kuat is a good option, has great features, looks good, and they support their products...you just might have to get a different hitch pin from them, or Amazon like this one. I have...

    Platform bike rack

Hey, sorry been off the forum for a little while. My NV 2.0 has a different hitch pin than yours. Wow, the winter this pin was on my Rav4 really did some wear on it as I look at this photo. EDIT: Read on down the forum and was glad to see Kuat offered you an alternative. I really like and trust...

I know there has been a lot of conversation about the Kuat NV 2 so thought I would toss it up here for reference when folded up.

    Is load capacity too low?

Wanted to follow up on this as I had the same feelings when Tesla stated the capacity of the 20" wheelset. I had my hitch installed last week and wanted to triple check I knew what all the little colored trailer icons meant again and went into the most current owners manual and discovered the...

    Tow package now available post-delivery

I believe they (LivingTesla) were nice enough to share the 3d Printing File if you have the ability to print your own. I think I saw the link to the files in the original post from LivingTesla in Interior/Exterior Forum.

Tow hitch dust cover too hard to remove

You may want to look over at this thread for more info on this: Hitch Cover is Kind of a Pain to Remove. Not a perfect answer but some solutions going back and forth there.

    Tow package now available post-delivery

I did something similar to you....I decided based on what I had read across the forum to go ahead and schedule the install for the hitch and homelink at once, plus some small delivery items. Included my order number etc. It was originally a mobile service but then they reviewed the service...

My Model Y's "Near Death Experience"

Sorry, I realized when I was saying "plugging it in", it wasn't to the charger, but rather reconnecting the 12v and disconnecting it, then reconnecting it. But still not a bad idea to keep it within charging distance :-)

My Model Y's "Near Death Experience"

Maybe adore was a little strong, It was more that I was really disappointed that it happened to the car, and realized that I really like this car and having a hiccup like this on something so simple to install bothered me, again as I really like this car. My homelink was part of a bigger service...

My Model Y's "Near Death Experience"

Follow-up, though hesitant to jinx it, but it seems the tech was successful. Decided to go for a 100-mile trip and see how it all played out and everything went as expected. Happily, on this trip, I learned my favorite brewery has Tesla chargers right upfront. Too bad I was just running in for a...

My Model Y's "Near Death Experience"

Had my first service experience today with the Model Y and as the header denotes, could have gone better. It was a routine Mobile Service visit to install Homelink. The gentleman came and installed it in little time. He drove off and I hopped in the car to roll it into the garage. I noticed the...

    Rear under seat vents

My, at the time, toddler son managed to lose a small hand-sized flashlight right into the very open vent in my Toyota Highlander. It was never seen again. It is a universal issue, not Tesla specific. I do like the no coin policy idea, that made me laugh. Thinking maybe someone like LivingTesla...

Any issue with 4 bike carrier?

Agreed, I decided after I posted to go and learn more about vertical weight (As I have never heard that term) and all references I found always equated it to tongue weight, so it is probably an extra safety measure as you observed.

Any issue with 4 bike carrier?

You may want to pop over to this thread: Platform bike rack as it was pointed out by another poster that that the 350lbs is not a vertical weight limit and that it is limited to 160lbs vertical. I need to go reread the newest manual with the hitch info it seems, as that was a surprise to me.

    Platform bike rack

Thank you, everyone, for your info! Super glad I followed this thread as I was also thinking it was the 350lbs limit vs the 160lbs. It would be only my ebike and my pre-teen son's Mtn Bike so have a few LBS to spare. Have the roof rack too so that can always be a backup. Thanks everyone for the...

    Platform bike rack

I have the Kuat NV Base 2, getting the Telsa hitch installed in a few weeks. I really like the NV and a lot of the integrated features it has, the pivot worked great getting out of the way on my previous 2019 Rav4 tailgate. The hitch bar is about 19-20" in length so I am not too concerned about...

iPad Headrest Mount for Kids in Back Seat

With so many quality issues after delivery - how many people are actually happy with their car?

I have had my early Model Y since the end of March and am very happy with it. It came with very minor issues, so minor I have not gotten them corrected yet to allow others with more severe issues to get first priority. They were documented at delivery so they are in the system. Tiny scratch on...

Congrats...sorry the tweet didn't show who the original image came from otherwise I would have given you the full credit. :-) Beautiful car, very similar to mine, sans the tow hitch of course. Congrats on your fame and car!

    Tow Hitch (Factory) Waiting Room

Don’t know if you all saw this yet, but apparently here is the factory solution out in the wild. Found on Twitter. Now just need it on the shop site for the rest of us.

    Jeda pad w AirPods

I believe the Taptes charging pad, which has the horizontal option will do it. Or I have also seen things like this that could work on both Jeda and OEM. Thought about doing it for mine, but just ended up using a USB 12v adapter for now. Tesla Wireless AirPods Holder

Tesmaian just got their mats in stock

It may sound a bit crazy but each part has a lip on it so, in theory, you could cut the rear panel into two parts and still have it work in most cases. Not a perfect solution but it could be a feasible option.

    Center console wrap

I know it wasn't one of the voting options but I would recommend NikolaPro's console wrap. They also have great support options if you mess them up at all. The template they use was great for the cup holder location. (p.s. Not affiliated in any way with NikolaPro. Just like the product and...

    MY roof rack dimensions

Went out and measured my set...comes in around 3 1/4" wide +/- for width of bars. (Assuming you want the mounting width vs the actual side to side of the vehicle width.) I don't have my Thule here to try for you, but the bars are similar width to the aero bars Thule sells. Let me know if you...

Cleaning black metal trim around windows? After wash oxidized (rainbow colors)

I will add to O3DSG’s list... I have used Prima Car Care for my cars and have never had a bad experience and the car comes out perfect. I recommend the Hydro line, used it on my Mini, MB, and now the Y. For black trim I use their Nero spray...clean look and feel without the “armor all” glare...

    Homelink on MY?

Semi-related: Saw on twitter today that someone asked Elon if those of us with wifi garage doors could get a button on the screen to open/close them, and in usual Elon style he said coming soon. So that will be another possible solution down the road. Ryan Knapp on Twitter

Taking 3 day old Model Y for repair, and $100 Uber credit per day!

Hopefully, they will extend that paint repair window beyond the 100-mile marker with everything going on so long as it was documented at the time of delivery. It just seems like the right thing to do unless they plan on sterilizing the vehicles after servicing.

    Taptes and Jeda hub preorders

Hello Everyone, Saw today that both Taptes and Jeda are already in the works for Model Y versions of their USB hubs and are available for pre-order. Just wanted to share.

Anyone taking delivery of Model Y this week?

Hi Everyone, Got my VIN and delivery text today...taking delivery of my DBM AWD LR no FSD on Friday @ 2:30 pm. They are delivering it to my home now vs me going to the delivery center. I feel like we are a few days before shelter in place here so hoping to get in under the wire. At least the...

    Tow Hitch?

My delivery rep stated yesterday there would be a roof rack for the MY, and that It was specific for MY and not a repurposed M3 version. He was also very clear about no towing and no idea if/when there will be that option in the US. My concern is that I have a eMtn bike that sits just shy of...

Congrats! I just drove past the Broadway delivery centre and didn't spy any Y's but assume they are hiding them inside. Hoping to get my VIN soon to join you.

    Tow Hitch?

Just searched the owners manual for the Y and saw that it stated: "Model Y is not equipped with towing" (P. 189). Guess we may have to wait for a third party after all. :-(

Model Y INCLUDES Wireless Mobile Phone Charger

That is great to see! I have a Taptes sitting here next to my desk that I may not need after all. I cancelled the hub as there was a rumour that the console USBs were updated to USB C from USB A. Wondering if that is indeed the case. Holding off on any other accessories until we learn more tomorrow.

Tesla Trade Value in Vs. CarMax Trade in Value

Hey NY_Rob, Did they say anything about you needing to get another estimate when the delivery date comes because it would over the 7 day carmax appraisal window? My primary delivery person said I would as my delivery is in 2 weeks? Does that make any sense?

    Model Y Delivery E-Mails Incoming

The call and text were reminding me that they sent the email and to fill in the delivery form.
