    Autopilot saved our lives

Too much discussion of the price of Autopilot and whether to buy it or not.....Is it worth it? You bet. A recent trip south on I95 in VA had me in the left lane of a 3 lane stretch going 65 while on "Nav on AP" with cruise set at 70 in an AWD LR M3. The car suggests moving to the center lane...

Model 3 rear-ended by driver insured by Leader/Infinity/Kemper Insurance in GA

I hired an expert appraiser and filed a claim for "diminution of value" It cost me a $200 fee, but he gave me expert filled-out forms and we claimed $7800 in DV on my Model S. I settled for $6900 and got a check for that amount from the 3rd party ins. co. This is no small matter. Your...

Model S: Best Car ever for the Mountains!

Phil David......Sunroofs that open are fine, but glass roofs like the M3 are awful. Maybe OK for Philly, but for FL, my wife's M3 gets to internal temp of 140 degrees unless I vent the windows. Then it "cools" down to 120. What a terrible engineering design. My head is within 2" of the roof...

Blog Leno Segment With Tesla Cybertruck Offers New Looks, Little News

I sympathize with DrGene. Some Homeowner Assn's (mine for one) require trucks to be garaged. You cannot leave it in the driveway overnight.

AP Question for NEW M3 owners

People complain about having to strangle grip the wheel when on AP. I find a click up on the radio volume wheel and then a click down a half mile later keeps the warnings at bay.

Senator asks Tesla to disable AP until they fix "anti-nag" tricks.

Has the Senator actually checked to see if this trick to defeat the system actually works? Or is he calling NHTSA on the carpet because he saw a Youtube video? What he should be spending his efforts on is curbing the top speed of all vehicles. There is no need for anyone to drive 85mph; and...

My 3 was hit by a teenager; what can/should be claimed for this damage?

Absolutely claim diminished value! I had an expert do an evaluation of my car (2012 Model S Signature) after an accident and found its resale value went from $32,000 to $24,000 and filed a claim for $8K. Settled for $7K. This is in addition to the 3rd party insurer paying $11K in repairs...

    Tesla launching Solar Roof V3

Glass roof? I dunno...... How big were the hail stones?

I crashed my new model 3: here’s what I’ve learned so far.

Other guy at fault, it looks like. Not sure if it applies "down under" but file a diminution of value claim with his insurer. I got a check for about $7K USD from the at-fault party's insurer on a 2012 MS. This is in addition to repair costs. When you go to sell, a Carfax report will have...

    Alternatives to Tesla collision repairs?

Take a tip from me....I was rear-ended and after $11K damages to my 2012 Model S Sig, I filed a claim for diminution of value against the at-fault's insured. FL and many other states have regs to make you "whole". After you get repairs, you will get a hit on the trade-in value of your car on...

Don't park under an Osage Orange tree

Check with your insurance company. Glass replacement is covered under some comprehensive plans with $0 deductible. Not sure about Tesla all glass auto, 'tho.

Using Stalk to confirm you are paying attention while car is on Auto Pilot

I keep my left hand on the wheel or rest it on my knee and scroll the radio volume up and down every 20 seconds, or so.

Hilton Head, SC Charging... not ideal!

Long rant for a mental error.....asking Tesla for help? Next time, charge at the Savannah Airport SC, 45 miles from Hilton Head. I used the Tesla destination charger at the Westin Hotel at Barony Beach. Went there for dinner one night, and they let me leave the car overnight in their...

    White Seats

I have white seats and a 4 yr old. Be sure to place a towel under the child's removable car seat and see that it extends over the area he/she can reach with their shoes. Towel will save scuffing of the pleather as well as catch spills. Mo issues, to date.

    Specific TACC observation on 28.2

With abrupt stopping being reported, how will Tesla handle icy road conditions? Skid, fishtail avoidance will probably be more prevalent in the winter....take caution.

    Bring back Signature Red

Sig Red MS still turns heads, 7 years later. Wife's Model 3 red looks like a Toyota or Honda. I would support expanding the use of Sig Red with a $3000 premium. Then split the monies 50/50 between Tesla Motors and those who stepped up so long ago to layout $30k deposits to get THE color.

AP2 / TACC Still slowing when passing freeway offramps

I have same version on a M3. Same issue on Rte 6, Sandwich, Cape Cod MA. 2 lane div hwy. My car braked in the rh lane before turning into the exit lane. Nearly rear-ended. The system should be improved to evaluate the rearward traffic before such an abrupt brake maneuver at 60 mph.

Suggested Tesla Supercharger locations in Florida

The best location is Corkscrew Rd, exit 123 in Estero, FL....At Miromar Outlet Mall. Right at the exit with plenty to do, Germaine Arena next door, also. It is exactly 1/2 way (140miles to both Tampa and Miami).....This location screams of perfection. Do a full charge, there, then you don't...
