    Passenger profiles

I have had my Model 3 for over 4 years. In the early days, there were many suggested software improvements requested in the various forums, and Tesla has in fact responded well. My car has had a load of features added. One feature that was requested several times was a passenger profile...

    So… Highland is out…

In my view, this is also a reduction in the safety of the car. It is not just that it may be possible to learn to indicate based on one of two closely placed buttons in a random orientation, but an urgent wiper wash or headlamp flash could be required. Both of these take no thought at the...

    [UK specific] Software Update 2023.26

I hope that the “auto headlights with wipers“ only applies in countries that mandate it, or it does come with the option to permantly decline that. It is annoying enough to have to reset the lights to off at the beginning of each drive, so that I can make a reasonable judgement as to when they...

    Q4 collections, tales and experiences

It's great, one pedal driving, isn't it? Don't go too long without giving your brakes a good exercise, though, especially in winter. An occasional emergency stop on a quiet road will keep the discs and callipers up to scratch (no pun intended!).

Heating seats from the Tesla app

My Tesla app is at 4.15.1. Over the past few years I have been happy to use the app to pre-heat my Model 3 and the seats. I am, however, struggling to understand the litte “Heat/Auto” sub-menu that now comes up when trying to set a seat heater on. As far as I know, there is no manual for the app...

Post your day one Model Y and Model 3 UK pictures

Well of course many of us with the early “chrome” trim will disagree with you. I think that it enhances the look of the car, especially in red, blue and black. But it is just a subjective view - the car is still wonderful to drive!

    Takeaways

PS. I forgot the LTE symbol showing the strength of the mobile signal. Much missed on screen while driving in the country, since I seem to need at least two bars to have much chance of succeeding with a voice command. It may show when there is no signal, but doesn't continuously show the...

Actually I haven't tried dark mode yet. I find light mode visually pleasant, and night mode awful unless you are following a navigation blue line. Some roads in are really difficult to spot, even with the help of a passenget, at night.

    Takeaways

I reserved my Model 3 in March 2017 and got it in August 2019. I still love it, and enjoy the concept of a car which continues to improve. I am disappointed that 'improvement' includes taking away features that many drivers find useful. My car is on 2022.4.5 at the moment, and the recently...

Tesla open up the SuC network [in UK]

    Highlight your charge cable

I took a low-tech approach. A battery LED motion sensor night light, as shown. It has a metal backplate to attach to the wall, and sticks to it by magnet. Sufficient light to show the charging socket if close enough. Mine was a LYRIDZ from Amazon - £22 for two.

Newbie seriously considering leasing UK - sense check

I am not qualified to help you directly (I have always bought cars outright), but I would just nudge you to query why you might change a Tesla after only 3 years. V11 - what’s your verdict?

Reading many comments on V11 here and in other threads confirms what other people have already said; that we are all different. However, there seem to be quite a few common comments. V11 - what’s your verdict?

I too have loved more than two years of Model 3 driving, so the user interface changes will take some getting used to. On the whole, I find the organisation sensible, and capable of evolution. Just following up yesterday's promise. I had a good look at my Tesla's connection with a magnifying glass and iPhone as a torch. Got a very strange look from my neighbour, but the socket seems absolutely clean and not worn. The Tesla charge point plug also was clean, with no wear marks, so I...

I am also wondering about doing my first service through Tesla, at 20,000 miles. Judging by many posts over the last couple of years I get the strong impression that the noise level is related to the individual car. My nearly 2 year old AWD LR does not get wind noise even on motorways, but it is clear that some owners do have wind noise.

I think from your photographs that your drive is no worse than some of the country roads that I happily (but carefully) drive on. If you get the deepest potholes that you can't avoid filled, I think that you will be OK. It's only my opinion, and it's obviously your own responsibility.

    Model 3 Ground Clearance

It is a concern, I'm afraid. I have scraped the bottom of my Model 3 on a metal ramp protecting a cable crossing the road, and on a particularly deep sleeping policeman, so I am very careful now. It is frustrating that these huge sensors occur nearly all the time (certainly when driving in the country), such that they suffer from “cry wolf” syndrome and have become meaningless, whereas the useful regen line is so slim as to be invisible without some time staring at the screen.
