Replaced Air Filters, still musty/old smelling.

Let us know how it goes. I agree with you this should be 100% covered by warranty....

Replaced Air Filters, still musty/old smelling.

Had this problem in my Y, PAID service over $100 to fix it, and it came right back. Clearly a design issue, this has never happened in any other car I've owned, borrowed or driven, so what's that, maybe over a hundred cars? Mildewy smell from the AC is not something any buyer should put up with...

    Induction wheel strange damage

This is a new one for me. Strange round chunks missing, highly reflective underneath. I don't have a lot of experience with black wheels, anyone seen this before?

    Front Parking Sensor Not Working?

Yes. The guy who installed it did careful round cutouts, just a hair outside of the outer edge of the sensor.
  5. BobbyD1

    Front Parking Sensor Not Working?

OK, for posterity. Cut holes in the PPF covering the sensors and problem was fixed 100%. Theory: after curing or after enough sun exposure some PPF will begin to block the sensors, even if clean. My car is not driven that much and otherwise in a garage so took a few months to interfere with the...

    Front Parking Sensor Not Working?

Thanks for the info. That's my next step. Weird though, no problems for 6 months with the PPF on. Seems odd that it would only occur now....?
  7. BobbyD1

    Front Parking Sensor Not Working?

This is happening to me as well. Rear sensors working but fronts are not. Took it in for service and they replaced something and said it was working but it's not in fact working. Do you have PPF on the front by any chance?

    Jeda Hub for Model Y

Received mine. Works great, fits great. All ports work but I need to use the right hand USB C for the built in wireless charging to function. The left hand USB C does work fine when directly plugged in to a device. Nice product.

    Irregularity in front windshield?

Yes I have it too - right in the driver's line of sight. Annoying and sub par at this price point.

3 Reasons Not to get the White Interior

Can't stand glare. Happy with black. (Red + white combo looks stunning though!)

    The Y rear is ugly

Huh that's funny. I think the rear and rear 3/4 are the best angles for the Y. Don't particularly like the front though - looks identical to the M3 - weak and fishlipped. Purely subjective of course.

Poll: how do you feel about the traffic indication lines in the nav?

LOL, I have them! Progressives, so life changing. Anyway, I agree you don't want to lose detail but there's a way of doing it I think...

Poll: how do you feel about the traffic indication lines in the nav?

Searched but didn't see a discussion about this. Anyway squinting at the screen to try to see those teeny tiny, super thin traffic indicator lines is driving me a bit crazy. IMO, it would be great if they were thicker and more legible. Even better, what if the thick blue navigation/directions...

    Update 2020.28.6

OT but no, and rightfully so imo, if you care about your customers. The longest, most frustrating "unsubscribe" experience in my life came from these guys - worse than any gym I've belonged to. Never again.

    California Carpool Stickers

You are right that the text and images do not match up. Oh well. I'll report back if the CHP pulls me over (which I doubt will ever happen - for stickers, anyway).

    California Carpool Stickers

I just did a big one in the back on each side and a little one in front on each side, like the directions on the website. I did not do the small/large combo on the back like in the paper instructions, just didn't like the look. In both cases, they want you to use all 4. Here's the front pic...

    California Carpool Stickers

To make matters even more confusing, the instructions that come with the stickers and the ones on the website are different. On the website, it has 1 big one on each side of the back bumper and 1 small one on each side of the front. In the paper attachment it has a big/small combo on the front...

    To FSD or not..

Hmm, autopilot to FSD. To me, it's paying $8K to do autopilot lane changes and auto stops and simply not worth it (don't need or care for summon). After driving the MY for a few months on all different roads and conditions, the benefits and limitations of autopilot are clear -- and imho we are...

    Home charger options

At this link, for the 14-50 adapter, it says Model X gets 20 and Model Y gets 29. I get around 30-31 on my MY. Gen 2 NEMA Adapters

My Insurance Company Thinks My Y is a Performance

30-year USAA customer here as well. I only use them for auto but the rates and service are unbeatable as far as I can tell. Some good answers in this thread. The LR AWD is classified as performance because it actually is one (albeit slightly software limited). I'm guessing the USAA rate...

LR AWD vs. P suspension height

Could someone with a Performance model measure the distance between ground and bottom of plastic fender? My AWD is just a touch under 30.5" both front and rear.

Schedule via the app as a service center appt, then they may text you a day or two later to convert the appointment to mobile. That's what they did for us anyway.

Even more interesting. It is an "F". I should also add that my insurance company (USAA) says it is a "performance" model.

Anyone taking delivery of Model Y this week?

Nothing in writing but I'm pretty sure they'll make it right. Maybe I'm optimistic. Reality is I got the car for my wife and she won't notice or care about any of these issues. There was no particular QA process at pickup. Given C19 we did the whole thing in less than 10 minutes.
  41. BobbyD1

Anyone taking delivery of Model Y this week?

Yeah it's not perfect but not bad enough to ruin enjoyment of the vehicle. I'll probably ask Tesla to adjust some panels post Covid-19 lockdown. Luckily we did not have any dents and only a few microscopic scratches. We DID have black marks from -- I'm guessing -- transport tie-downs which we...

Anyone taking delivery of Model Y this week?

IMO, for a $60K+ car, it's not as good as it should be. I posted this earlier on another thread and I don't think these are deal breakers, but coming from years of German cars, I've never seen any of these issues at this price point. Not trying to be controversial just honest -- I'm new to Tesla...

    Refused Delivery MY

As a guy who has driven mainly German cars for the past 30 years - BMW, Audi, Porsche - I will say the build quality of the MY is not even close. Panel gaps and alignment, poor sheetmetal work, tons of paint imperfections. However ... the car is really cool anyway. We'll see how it is on...

Tying down cargo in the backtrunk

There's nothing obvious or built-in. You could bungee something to the tethers behind the seats but there's nothing to attach the other ends to. The side pockets have no loops in them. You might be able to use the top / bottom or side edges of the lower removable panel with the right ends -...

    Finance Rate Went Down

Thanks! Black interior, yes. Also to answer an earlier question, the wheels don't look so black to the eye, I just think the white/black completely defeats the iPhone camera's dynamic range. Here's a slightly adjusted pic but still doesn't quite capture it.
