I found two instances where walk away lock did not work and I left car unlocked. With FOB it was 100% now I always have to look back since sometimes the environment is too loud to hear the chirp. Fob arrives next week!!

Yes it is set at Always, second time i had to touch the phone to get the door to unlock, unsure why, but not liking as much as a fob.

SO yesterday handsfull from grocery store, approach car trunk, nothing, struggled to reach for my phone, once I went touched the phone screen unlocked the phone, the car unlocked. The difference with the Fob, as soon as car detected the Fob, it unlocked. I am considering buying a Fob now.

I do not feel the same 'slack' in my 2023 X, as I did in my 2020 X.

My 2020X had that sort of event you described and I figured it to be the 'hold' as well. I also noticed that accelerating out of 'Hold' I could feel the slop you mention in the rear. I just traded for a 2023 X and will see if it does this too. My 2020 X had about 50,000 miles.

I think we users disengage more frequently when things get tricky and we intercede to be safe. I also assume (I know.....), Tesla staffers let the car go and see how it does with a longer leash than 'us', thus higher success.
