Sorry to one-up you but I'm setting a Tesla record for banging head into trunk. Picked my Model Y 2 days ago and banged my head 6 times so far. Excuses: My garage has a low ceiling, I'm much taller than my wife, and I never learn from my mistakes. Other than my aching head I love the car.

Tonight, just four days before I pick up my first Tesla, a metallic blue LR AWD Model Y, the Tesla website changed delivery estimate for new MY orders from 2 - 4 weeks to 10 - 14 weeks. Does anyone know why the sudden change? Any guesses? I feel like I should have waited until after Battery Day...

Ordered my LR AWD metallic blue MY on Aug 6. Delivery was scheduled 9/10, but was called today and asked to reschedule as car is still en route. The Tesla rep said they are now swamped with deliveries. Might this be end of quarter push starting?

Ordered 8/9 MVPA 9/6 VIN 37xxx Pick-up scheduled 9/10 in Mt. Kisco, NY Metallic blue, LR AWD w/ FSD * I was surprised my VIN is 37xxx when others who ordered after me are getting models with VINs 42, 44 and 45xxx. I’ll find the date of manufacture Thursday when I pick it up.

Emmanuel, May I ask how much they devalued your 2018 Model X? I’m just curious how much value Teslas retain.

This is just a guess, but I suspect at this time Tesla is willing to pay more to rectify minor problems than to slow down production to improve fit and finish. Hopefully over the next few months the bugs will be ironed out and Tesla won't have to trade off quality for speed.
