2023 Model Y no USS discussion, incl. Discussion of Tesla Vision Firmware

It’s a shame you weren’t notified. I took delivery of a 2023 model Y without USS at end of November. In order to accept delivery I had to agree that I understood there would be some limited features temporarily. I’m happy to wait. I can always drive my 2020 model X when I miss the USS features!

Detecting front and sides when parking disabled?

My new model Y does not detect distance to obstacles in front or sides, (or behind), when parking. I think its due to the front radar being disabled. I had to accept that as a condition prior to delivery. I understand that might be remedied in a coming software update. Would appreciate any...

Thanks for the HeatShield recommendation. I've purchased the set and will use on my X country trip in my MX.

A little Northeast Oklahoma Camping in the X Last Weekend...

Planning to run X country in September. We have the Exped Synmat Duo LW; got it on Ebay. I've given it a test run sleeping in my garage, and it passed the test. Probably won't camp all the way (Cali to DC), but will if we can't find decent places to stay.

Round Trip Cross Country Camping Road Trip

Did you end up doing this trip? Wondering whether the 70/30 plan worked. We're doing the reverse of the trip, from LA to Virginia and back again, in September, as long as COVID doesn't get in the way.

Round Trip Cross Country Camping Road Trip

@r1johnston: thanks so much for your blog and all the detail. We're planning a run from Southern California to Arlington VA and back, assuming we are ALLOWED to travel. We're hitting many of the same national parks as you did, and planning a faster fun home mostly along I-10. Your information...

Towing a Jayco, Keystone, or Similar

I'm new to posting, although not new to Teslas at all. This post is quite reassuring. I have a 2020 model X long range; I have been considering buying a nucamp T@B 320s trailer, 1500lb, and 15.6 ft long. From what I am reading, we could probably manage a cross-country trip, understanding that...

Would You Buy a New Model S Today?

We own a 2015 model S. We bought it new and still love it. The supercharging is a good benefit when offered. Our car has the older software for auto steer, so we are considering replacing the car and getting a newer model S or X We took it to Grand Canyon last year. The auto steering was a big...

The End of my MY Story (at least for now)

Thanks for this positive report. I’m picking up my MY in Burbank this weekend. I’m taking the list kindly provided by a user on one of the fora. I’m ready to reject if necessary but hoping that this one is ok. If I return the car under the conditions I understand all I would need to do is change...
