Sold 2017 Model S P100DL, Factory Warranty, Ludicrous, MCU2, Ventilated Seats

nice car I'm also in Houston casually shopping for a MS. I see that it's standard AP. Not FSU nor Enhanced AP. I believe the enhanced AP in this generation includes the summon, park, and navigate to options before Tesla removed those into the current FSU package. I wish your car had the...

    Hubitat and Powerwalls

Anyone done any cool linking PW dashboards that you want to show off? I'm still trying to get the powerflow visual tiles to show. The legacy one that shows as a web page iframe. My iframe shows the login to the local PW, but stops there. First try:

How to setup Tesla app for free nights in Texas and suggestions of plans.

Nice bill! Sure I'll play too. Below is my bill that just showed up today. $4.39 connection charge aside, I paid $2.30 in electricity for almost 2000 kWh. Summer will be the true test!

How to setup Tesla app for free nights in Texas and suggestions of plans.

I’m a huge fan of the plan. Check your PM. I sent you $50. Tip: I signed up for the degree of difference program once I was on board and that gives you another $50. I’ve been actually running on these two credits since I signed up so electricity still negative bills right now until I consume...

How to setup Tesla app for free nights in Texas and suggestions of plans.

More or less. Example below of my last weeks electricity cost. All my devices activate at 8pm which is when the free period starts. I think the transition period as my devices turn on is where I’m hit with fees. It’s so insignificant that I don’t bother, but maybe one day I’ll try and flip all...

How to setup Tesla app for free nights in Texas and suggestions of plans.

Not sure about the ONCOR service area, but I would pick a plan that goes "free" at 8pm. Reliant has a plan that goes 8-6 which so far has been awesome for me. My monthly electric bill has been basically the connection charge over the past 5 months. This is with 2 PWs and an EV both charging...

Hubitat now integrated with my PWs allows me to: - Watch and take action based on PW battery capacity. I start powering down devices as my battery hits certain thresholds. At 50% I start powering down lights. 30%, I turn off the AC. It does not allow the pool to run when I'm using the grid...

    Hubitat and Powerwalls

I'm only days into my Hubitat experience so wouldn't be the best assist in troubleshooting. I will say that my install does refresh tokens automatically as mine has been running for almost a week through a token expiration warning and without any intervention. It does refresh no need to SSH...

Tesla: we need more control over our PowerWalls

Thanks @Tim-in-CA I took the plunge on it last week and you're right. Works great. I started a new thread so I don't hijack: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/hubitat-and-powerwalls.298312/#post-7526757

    Hubitat and Powerwalls

I was on the fence myself because of my heavy investment in STs. Controlling the PW with a hub is a worthwhile effort if I knew it would work. That and Zwave exclusion is spotty in the past which means migrating devices over would be time consuming if I had to troubleshoot uncooperative...

    Hubitat and Powerwalls

Ahh awesome @tomuo found this thread. Tomuo's reference to the monitoring is below. I skimmed the code and it does expose a large number of attributes so likely a great place to see more of what's going and taking action. For me, I needed to issue configuration changes to the PW...

Is there any way to get a notification from Tesla that the battery is fully charged?

Thanks @tomuo . I took the plunge and purchased Hubitat and got it to work with Darwin's app. It does what I need it to do so far, but Hubitat is new to me so I'll have to do a bit of reading to better understand drdshell's vs Darwin in terms of capabilities. Skimming drdshell's code, I see a...

    Hubitat and Powerwalls

Hello all. I've been on a hunt for a monitoring and automation solution for the Powerwalls for sometime now. Researched various places, but couldn't find a definitive solution that works in 2023. There was the Darwin's Den solution for SmartThings that worked for a while, until SmartThings...

Hey @DrewHou I saw the release of the new Hubitat C8 now on special for $150. About the pull the trigger just to see if Hubitat will give me those PW automations we spoke about. Will leave my ST in place as well until I can get the Hubitat to work with Tesla before I start trying to migrate my...

Tesla: we need more control over our PowerWalls

hey @Tim-in-CA @h2ofun does your Hubitat setup still work today for basic automation and control? I'm a old timer with SmartThings but it has no ability to control the powerwalls anymore. I had some basic automation working at one point with DawinsDen handlers in SmartThings, but the platform...

2022 Model X roof sensor not working

Confirmed my upgrade to 2023.2.0.5 last night brought back the "shields" that indicate awareness of the walls and ceiling. Let's see how long it last and/or if the next update breaks this again.

They just release 2023.2.0.5 tonight. I’ll install that one myself to see if it brings back the door sensor indicators. Will also report back.

2022 Model X roof sensor not working

I noticed in the last update (2022.44.30) that I lost those sensor indicators that told me if I should open my falcon doors in my garage or not. Has anyone else noticed those indicators are now missing and/or is this even an issue under that update.

Automated back up mode with python and rest

Awesome @blueice89 ! Does this still work? Your link has a date of Jan 4 2020 for the code. I'm looking for an automation to trigger the PW charge and you seem to have it working at some point. Thanks!

2022 Model X roof sensor not working

I still have this issue. The “keep sentry mode ON” even at home seemed to be the workaround for awhile, but even that is inconsistent lately. I speculate it’s the new frequent updates we’re getting that persist the bug.

I’ve always read that as the providers were recouping the from the impact of the freeze. Unconfirmed. I would go with the earlier 8pm free period IMHO.

haha.. I love it. I downplayed it a bit when I said tinker earlier, but our house is similar. Google Assist in every room with scenarios. My goodnight scenario locks all external doors, shuts all garages and does all the typical light controls and temperature for a sleeping house. My house's...

I consider myself an automation tinker and wired the heck out of my home. (I don't like to touch light switches and want scenes and voice control to do what I need without me asking.. lol) There was a SmartThings plug in for the Powerwall that is written by someone linked below. I had that...

I love Reliant's chart above. I immediately called Reliant to lock into that 48 month plan as soon as I saw my week's usage and cost. Very similar to yours was enough to suck up the $200 cancelation fee. The challenge I have and sounds like yours too. Is that I only have 2 PWs.. which limits...

Tesla Solar in Houston & Surrounding Area’s

I just noticed our signature w/ 1 PW. The free Nights may work for you, but you'll have to do the math to confirm. Here's why: a PW has to provide enough power for your home from sundown (low to zero production) until your free period kicks in and again from morning until sunrise. For me...

Tesla Solar in Houston & Surrounding Area’s

Yes I recall you had the benefit of the free at work charger which will help reduce your overall home consumption significantly. My system is in my signature below, but will add it is SW facing on a single large array so "highly efficient" as I'm told by the installers. On a excellent sun-day...

Tesla Solar in Houston & Surrounding Area’s

Exciting. I was generating credit until May every year before the summer heat kicks and the AC was running double time leaning into the battery capacity during the day just to keep up. How to setup Tesla app for free nights in Texas and suggestions of plans.

I do kick my pool equipment on during high peak days to increase load whereas it usually runs only at nights now, but that's a very manual effort. I wish there was a set-it-and-forget-it option for us through the electricity plan configuration instead of involving manual intervention. I...

BTW. Does anyone know how to disable export? Under the free nights and low daytime consumption right now thus exporting a significant amount. I'm not expecting any $ from it because i don't have a export plan. Fine with it as a donation to the grid, but at the same time I don't want any...

How to setup Tesla app for free nights in Texas and suggestions of plans.

On latest app version and the best I can do is below. Will give me an error and force a non zero number before it allows me to continue. 0.01 is not significant if used to calculate a projected cost, but does lend to data inaccuracy. I just hope the 0.01 doesn't change the algorithm enough to...

Texas owners: Free nights or Net metering

I just switched over to the reliant truly free 8pm-6am. Will need a little more time on it to play with the different options to see how it affects the bills. So far great that I don’t have to think about EV charge cost and now pool runs at nights. Question on the audit comment. Can you...

2022 Model X roof sensor not working

I have not had any more failures of the sensor causing the doors to hit the garage since leaving on sentry mode at home. No issues for over a week where I'm willing to turn off the sentry mode to see if the issue reoccurs since I haven't changed anything else. No software updates or anything.

    Texas VPP

Nice to hear someone from Cali chime in. I assume you're in the VPP program there? Texas may be a bit different with our deregulated market in a good part of the state, but all speculation. Tesla was approved as an Retail Electricity Provider (REP) earlier with the VPP update just recently...

We all heard of Tesla's VPP desires in Texas, but it's getting closer. I think that real-time market would be best if you knew for a fact that you'll be overproducing when the grid is the highest during the summer days. If you're like me, I need the AC as much as the rest of Texas so using most of what the sun gives me. Like @wiltoking I prob exported less than...

Thanks for sharing your EFL. I think you got lucky with the Amigo 24M plan as only the 12M is now available. It is slightly cheaper today, but likely Amigo doesn't want the long 24 commitment as they're expecting to increase rates again next year. I had to re-read that "Your bill will contain...

Nice. As EV popularity grows, I hope your garage adds more chargers otherwise you'll be relegated to your home rate. We Texan's complain about our rates, but it's still lower than most of the country.

Your plan above looks like what I just renewed under, however it is dated 2022-06-21. The plan has now been updated. I looked at my EFL and the Delivery Charges are now 4.945 per kWh. This plan is significantly higher than my same plan 2 years ago before I had to renew which highlights prices...

Tesla Solar in Houston & Surrounding Area’s

Very true. I should have elaborated more as we’re not apples to apples. I’m in a new construction with a “green” home which is designed to be more efficient and more insultated vs his older home. He did upgrade both of his ACs with the higher SER which helped lower his draw, but he suspects...

Tesla Solar in Houston & Surrounding Area’s

Truth? That depends on your actual usage. I can only share that my system (see signature) is insufficient for my needs during the summers. I go to sunset with my 2 PWs well below full because I'm consuming everything the sun gives me with little surplus to go to the battery. I get some...

Texas owners: Free nights or Net metering

I love this thread! I'm coming on a 2 year old Houston system, but new EV owner. Unfortunately I just renewed with Mp2 last month due to an expired plan, I'm starting to do the mental math on why this thread is a game-changer. After 2 years of using my system (in my signature), I realized...

2022 Model X roof sensor not working

So far the work around hasn't failed. Promising to prevent further damage, but I still want a proper fix. These are not cheap cars so I would expect a working product and not having to implement work arounds. As much as I want the Cybertruck, it will be a nightmare as we're all beta testers.)

Tesla Solar in Houston & Surrounding Area’s

Congratulations everyone here for the systems. Houston here and I've had my system for 2 years. In hindsight if I can share anything, it would be to: 1) Don't do 1 PW if you can help it because Telsa will insist that it be a partial backup vs whole house which is a very different wiring...
