    2023 Model y LR - steering vibration at 65mph

Just a quick summary so it's all in one post. I've been to 3 different centers with my car at this point. Every time they found something new wrong and made adjustments. Brand new 2023 Model Y LR, base wheels. Upon pickup there was a noticeable vibration in the steering wheel, seat, and the...

    2023 Model y LR - steering vibration at 65mph

Just an update in case anyone was wondering, I setup a third appointment with a different dealer and they had to adjust the alignment. Every time I go in it gets incrementally better, but there's still some vibrations. Now you only notice them at high speeds like beyond 80. However I have to...

Model X 20-inch square wheel setup

Does anyone have a picture of their X on 20 inch fronts on all 4 corners? Just wondering how different it looks. Really annoyed there's no square setups from the factory. 30k miles and my fronts are down to the wires because I couldn't rotate. Costco doesn't carry continental, so now I can...

    2023 Model y LR - steering vibration at 65mph

I think I'm going to have to take matters into my own hands. I've went to two different service centers and they keep telling me the car is fine. I am getting significant vibrations in the steering wheel at high speeds, like 80+. It's very noticeable and honestly has ruined the car. My Chevy...

    2023 Model y LR - steering vibration at 65mph

At highway speed, if you floor it, the front end shudders, especially at 70+. All these symptoms point to balancing issue but the service center said all 4 wheels balanced out fine. Who knows if they actually did. I'm not keen on trying to chase down this balance issue myself and out of my own...

    2023 Model y LR - steering vibration at 65mph

I'm having vibration issues on my brand new 2023 MY LR since pick up. Took it to the service center and they confirmed vibrations are present. They replaced both front wheels and tires, called it fixed. But it's really not. Wondering what I should do. Went for a drive with the tech and they said...

    Terrible delivery experience

I'm sure this has been touched on in the past, but I did want to post my personal experience. I was hoping things would have improved since we picked up a 2020 Model X, but they haven't. If anything, customer service has gotten worse. Buckle up, this may get a little ranty... Got to the...

    Cheap Home charging setup

    Cheap Home charging setup

Wonder how that would work if I just have my electrician install it. They could probably provide an invoice but does he have to be certified? Also do we need to provide a permit for the tax claim?

    Cheap Home charging setup

This is a good point. I didn't realize the outlet itself would cost that much, I thought the most money would go towards labor. I think an outlet with the mobile charger I will come out ahead, but not by much. The nuisance tripping is something to consider too. Cheapest hardwired chargers are...

    Cheap Home charging setup

I did say install with an electrician. Questions I'm asking just asking for myself and knowledge. Sorry if they sound dumb to you. Regarding GFI, I have read the car has built in protection already so having another layer in the outlet would be redundant. Hence why I asked. We plan on leaving...

    Cheap Home charging setup

Mind sharing a link to a ground fault breaker I can use? And also what's the benefit to having one? I was planning on installing just a regular oven or high power appliance outlet in the garage with my shade tree electrician. One last question, is there a cheaper way to get level 2 charging...

    Cheap Home charging setup

Hello everyone. Just picked up a new model X and we're looking into charging solutions. Currently on a regular outlet which isn't ideal :) We have a breaker box located in the garage right near where the car is parked. Question is, would we be able to install a nema 6-50 or 14-50 and just plug...

    Talk me IN or OUT

Comparatively speaking, Tesla holds its value way better than other luxury brands. You can easily find a 3 year old S class or 7 Series for around 40k still in warranty. These cars stickered at 100k when optioned. Meanwhile a 3 year old Model S which started at 90-100k only drops to 55-60k...

    Talk me IN or OUT

I agree with you. Not really concerned about AP version right now. Anything I get will be way more advanced that anything I've had. This is the third car in the family, so it can spend a little time in the shop if needed. But it's intended to be a daily driver that will rack up at least 15-20k...

Thanks for the tip. I took a look at the warranty you referenced and they exclude an awful lot, not sure if that would be an issue. Still a good choice or the only game in town?

    Talk me IN or OUT

I thought I would get more value/size/space/features from a used Model S, that's why I was leaning more towards the S... I'm a big fan of depreciated cars

My daily commute is 120 miles round-trip 4 days a week, plus wherever I go on my weekends and off days. I drive a lot. Probably 20-25k miles a year

    Talk me IN or OUT

Past cars have included a BMW 5 series, Porsche cayenne, Mercedes ML, Jaguar S-type, Audi A6, and some others. When you say any 3 has newer tech than the S, what do you mean? I would think the S, even if it's older is more technically advanced than the 3, unless it's a base model

    Talk me IN or OUT

Main drivers for me are just having an electric car that's kinda quick, has cool features, gets updates, and the big center screen is cool. You do have other manufacturers with electric cars but none are as refined as Tesla.

    Talk me IN or OUT

Ideally I'd like to stick to my formula of 40k max, but I know that may not be practical with this car. I'm all about the value, so my budget is flexible if spending more will get me more for my money. I think anything past 60k would make me uncomfortable

Sorry, one thing I forgot to mention, I'm only looking at dual motor cars. I want the AWD for the winter snow

    Talk me IN or OUT

Hello all, Thank you for any help you can give me. I wanted some input about buying my first Tesla Model S. A little background: I am a huge car nerd and we’ve owned high end cars from most of the manufacturers (BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, etc.) and always bought used. Our formula has always been...
