Anyone recently take delivery have an update on the time it took to get their title + docs in the mail vs earlier in the summer? Taking delivery of our second soon. Back in 2020, it took over a month before mine came in for my Model 3...though that was peak pandemic days. TY in advance!

I only test drove an LR Model 3 before I got my SR+ - and I love my car. A lot of your opinion will come from what you are used to before you pop your Tesla cherry...for a lot of people, ANY trim of Model 3 is going to be a massive upgrade. Would the added range be nice? For sure...but for $9k...

Exactly my experience last quarter in TX as well. If you haven't ordered yet, I'd strongly suspect you'd get an inventory car sitting somewhere if anything by the end of the year...but who knows. Sometimes delivery dates seem like the lottery...and your odds may go up if looking for a perf/LR.

$9k isn't trivial. The SR+ range suits our needs perfectly and the added range with the LR wasn't worth the added cost for us. AWD wasn't a necessary feature either. People just need to weigh the pros/cons for their individual situation.

Can't say I've seen anyone here posting about the SR recently. The SR+ really is a better value considering the differences between the two (battery and autopilot and other aspects...).

They told me they need 48-72 hr to get temp plates from the state...after insurance info is posted...I got mine activated the same day I paid.

It is an incentive to encourage people to get a car early to minimize the number of last minute deliveries. Why randomly give away this for routine deliveries? Then you'll just irritate people who took delivery the first two weeks of the month as well. Does it suck if you don't get the option...

Honestly I'll be going through it my first time with Tesla too...so someone else who has done it more recently may have better guidance, but my understanding is they will send us the title and other documents after delivery...then we need to go ourselves to turn in forms and get plates, etc...

The process has changed over time... currently, it is up to us to pay taxes when we register...Tesla no longer does this for us. Can thank the state for the barriers they have up...

Well, perhaps it's a Battery Day miracle haha... Logged into my account for the heck of it and saw it was asking for payment and MVPA was posted with VIN. Heard from my delivery specialist shortly after that. Looks like it's coming in right before the end of the month. :D Hope everyone else...

I'm fairly certain this was part of a plan to max profits to compensate for the pandemic and getting a 4th consecutive profitable quarter. I'd be surprised if they did that this quarter but who knows!

Ordered 8/27...at the beginning of this week I had an estimated delivery window that ran thru today but disappeared within a day or two and now I'm back to 3-5 weeks from order date. Happened to a lot of other people here too, before the wave of text...

I received an email from my Delivery Specialist the day after I ordered online (I'm in TX). You could also try calling the SC you plan to pick-up from. Also trying the general customer service tele line or chat feature may help you get connected. Others with more experience in the order process...

Probably nothing else on your end for your current order. Seen other anecdotes of people being told changes to order at this stage may kick you to next month/quarter. Can always check with your SA/DA to see... If you look at your account you should see this: "Delivery time frame will be based...

Howdy! When did you order? Mine went in at the end of August so I'm hoping I get better luck next week vs right at the end of month.

My "estimated delivery" window I had on my account changed back to "3-5 weeks from order date" this evening (Texas). I wasn't actually expecting delivery by Friday but was at least hoping for some tangible movement. Back to the waiting game!:rolleyes:

Yep, I was more confused than excited. I emailed my delivery specialist just to check and he confirmed no VIN assigned yet but "may" have one in a day or two...at this point I'm just waiting for their actual update and not trying to read the tea leaves anymore :p

It happened to me over the weekend (I think...or at least there was a big delay before it populated back to the "3-5 week from order date") then I got the estimated delivery date of 9/4-9/18 (today is 9/14 LOL)....but the only reason I checked my account was because the app had the spinning...

So no (visibly) assigned VIN or MVPA, but my account now states: "Estimated Delivery: September 04 - September 18" Pretty sure I checked yesterday and was still saying "3-5 weeks from order date"... I'm in TX...last update I had gotten was a text on 9/2 stating 2-4 weeks. Not sure that my car...

Haha I was expecting a similar text today after getting a 2-4 week update on 9/2 but haven't gotten anything yet...seems like they are slowly pushing out the "update".

My initial thought was more that the current demand for Y's may exceed their capacity to meet them all by the end of the quarter...vs the 3 they can still meet incoming demand by the quarter's end...though not sure if that logic can also be applied to X and S time estimates.

I haven't communicated with anyone at the SC since my order. My delivery specialist in NV gave me a call the next business day when I had emailed him in response to his post-order email. He was very helpful. I realize they don't have much information to provide until a VIN is assigned. Figured I...

See a lot of Tesla's in SA but wasn't sure how active the community was. Seems like the Dallas/Houston/Austin areas are more active...

Got the 2-4 week delivery estimate text yesterday as well...for TX.

Did you need to make any special requests to get this arrangement? I've heard of others doing this as well but not sure how to make it happen.
