Be aware! Missing Control Arm Nut: Potential Safety Issue

It seems Tesla at long last are now conceding and holding their hand up and recognising this as a safety issue and recalling model 'Y', no mention of the model 3 though which is essentially built using the same platform. It's good to see a shift in their attitude and taking on-board...

Venting-post sale customer service... sigh... (i

Yep, same at my nearest sc. The car park is almost overflowing with cars waiting to be fixed. Thus rendering any proposed? pdi on newly delivered cars as non existent, thus more delivery faults to be fixed, adding to the "fix it later" conveyor belt business model of Tesla. Rinse & repeat!

New Camera Icon in FSD Beta [ in 2020 - not current FSD beta]

So useless then! It fits well with Teslas' philosophy of burying their head in the sand .... not wanting to know or recognise any faults that exist with their vehicles.

Be aware! Missing Control Arm Nut: Potential Safety Issue

More on suspension woes. They are made only at the Fremont plant – which would imply this safety procedure would extend to more markets. Teslas' response....denied any issues with the suspension. Instead, it blamed Chinese drivers for the broken suspensions there. As I posted previously...

    Rear door won’t open

No, I'm not confused, I am relating to your mention if a mechanical child lock, that has a catch located in the door jamb. Prevents the door from being opened from the inside but not the outside. Correct, the interior door handles don't work....that is the purpose of the child lock! But the...

    Rear door won’t open

Yes, hence why I have never owned a 2 door car with rear seats! I wouldn't put my kids in the back of either.
  16. D

    Rear door won’t open

It's a long time since I have used child locks, but if I remember correctly the door can still be opened from the outside can't it? Not so with toddlers strapped into a child seat. Or if unconscious due to the impact of an accident.... or overcome with fumes. Clearly the requirements...

    Rear door won’t open

That's not good. A flawed design that has not even considered the safety of occupants in the rear in the event of an emergency. I certainly wouldn't want children of mine in the rear. I don't know how it is possible for cars to pass safety testing in this condition. Why they even bothered...
  18. D

    Rear door won’t open

*UPDATE* Apparently there IS a manual release....buried at the base of the door... but requires tools to access it! In the event of an emergency no way would anyone trapped in the rear of the car get out (child possibly), or anyone get it open from outside to aid rescue. I would not risk...
  19. D

    Rear door won’t open

This is a recurring safety issue as in the event of an accident the rear seat occupants cannot get out. Another design flaw, as tesla didn't bother to fit a manual mechanical release lever to enable egress. Check out the issue here.... .

Unlikely. But why not? My personal belief is that to be fore-warned is fore-armed. I consider it important that owners and potential owners are aware of such serious issues. Awareness of these issues by owners enables them to check their vehicle for the defect before the catastrophic event...

Amazon announces new Sentry Mode and Ring integration

Good idea in principle but now everyone, including thieves, know of its existence, what is stopping them simply unplugging it when they have broken into the car and throwing it away? "70" reg crew

I wonder how many people have challenged this statement by simply asking them to produce the spec for the tolerance that they refer to? Non Tesla on a supercharger?

I agree, the *majority* may well be fine, but the ones that aren't seem to attract many service visits to try to get them fixed. It is a 1.5 hour trip to my service centre, I have no intention of spending a high percentage of my ownership experience commuting back and forth at my expense...

    Non Tesla on a supercharger?
