I’m sorry I just don’t understand why this would even be mentioned unless ur racing to push the charge door button as FAST as humanly possible. It’s not even a slow animation lol. On top of that, there are so many other ways to open the charge port door.

The animation was done because it looks cooler than what was there before, without compromising functionality for the average user. This is definitely the silliest complaint I’ve ever heard.

You do know you can open and close or lock the charge port from the Tesla app right???

The car is almost too sensitive to humans in its path, so no need to worry about that. “Go to target” is definitely the way to go. Another tip: put the pin slightly further than where you are so the car maintains speed until you let go of the button. The car tends slow down as it gets closer to...

WOW...it amazes me how some of you are able to find the smallest strangest things to complain about, like seriously???? The animation that is half a second is an issue? There are at least 3 other ways to open the charge bay if that animation is too much to deal with, come on folks lol!

EXACTLY!!! The pin drop is the most effective and can be very useful in certain situations. I think a lot of people gave up on it after day 1 or 2 while using “come to me”, instead of “go to target”. Oh well lol

Don’t ever use the “come to me” function. Use “go to target” and it works 99% of the time. I almost NEVER have an issue with smart summon and I use it every single day.

No...if ur car didn’t come with the speaker, the option isn’t available, even if u plug one in. It’s about what Tesla has ur car configured too, and until they find a way to update the configuration for the speaker we are SOL when it comes to the Boombox app. But if you just want the forward and...

Do a thumb wheel reset

Some people just don’t have it and some just never noticed like my friend. He always has his music going when driving the car so he never knew what sound the car was making when he put it in reverse.

Not true...I have the speaker (bought from Tesla), and the Boombox app is not there. However the sound does work!

Boombox doesn’t work at all. Check above responses for a detailed description on why that is.

So after doing a lot of digging, I’ve found that it’s a configuration issue. Tesla or service technician has to be able to change the configuration setting on the car to let the computer know u have the speaker. Until that is done the speaker will only work after a drive cycle or a thumb wheel...

Does anyone know how to access service mode with the new UI considering the Tesla T has now been removed?

I haven’t received the update so I don’t know if Boombox will be accessible when I get it. However the reverse and forward sound is working after a reset using the scroll wheels. The car recognized the speaker. What year and month was ur car built?

The OEM speaker from Tesla! You have to call your local service center and request the part. They may try to discourage you and say it won’t work but it will after u install it and do a scroll wheel reset. The speaker cost $59, part number is in the photo below!

My august 19 does and I bought the speaker and it works.

You should check on the 6/19. Turn ur wheel all the way to the left, remove the tabs (red), peel the liner back and look upward (green) the wiring should there taped up.

You might have the harness to be able to plug the speaker in. What month/year was your car built?

That update addressed a bad security flaw, so it makes sense why it was pushed out so fast.
