Tesla Software Updates for Model 3 New Zealand

Had a play with holding down the gear stalk in cruise control and it works well. Increasing speed is fantastic, reducing speed is not workable. If you drive north into Winchester the speed goes from 100Km/Hr down to 50Km/Hr and the speed sign is right next to a primary school. If using the car...

    New buyer questions

I have attached the spreadsheet, I hope you find it useful, note that it is only a guide and will not and cannot accurately give you times or costs. How you drive will have a huge impact on how far you get on a charge. Neil...

That is fantastic news, I wonder if it will work on Cruise Control as well. Will have to give it a go today.

    New buyer questions

Hi IntnlManOfCode, Congratulations on your decision on buying a Tesla. I travel around 160Km per day and only charge my car on a 10Amp circuit (Standard home wiring). The car charges at 8Amp and is charged ready for the next days driving. I charge to 90% every day. As soon as I park the car...

    Straight to the source

I found out today that there are free 50Kw chargers down the Waitaki valley so went for a free 234Km drive today to Omarama and back stopping off at the source of all our pleasure. Fantastic day and a fantastic drive. 20201112_141224 by Neilhnz posted Nov 12, 2020 at 5:28 PM

Tesla Software Updates for Model 3 New Zealand

After installing 2020.40.8 and traveling into town (60Km) I was very pleased to note that I did not experience one phantom brake or slow down. Then traveled to Christchurch and again no problems at all on Active Cruise Control. Also behaved with no issues at night on the way home. However both...

Tesla Software Updates for Model 3 New Zealand

I tried out the new update thinking it would make my travel into Town a little easier. Heading north on Highway one, the very first speed sign it came to it ignored. It was a 70km/Hr speed limit going through Makikihi. Two big green rectangular signs, one each side of the road, you could not...

    Autopilot in New Zealand

Hi Matt_NZ, you could be right. The car is running version 2020.36.11 ccacdb181f16 I am sure that over time it will get better, I do feel though that it is currently more dangerous than safe.

    Autopilot in New Zealand

Thanks Ecoli, I certainly enjoying the car. I have a 50Km commute to Timaru most days along state highway one. So far there have been no emergencies but many false positives from autopilot. I find I am more on edge with autopilot, waiting for the next random reaction. Rather than relaxing into...

    Autopilot in New Zealand

Hi all, glad to be part of the Tesla community. After owning a Model 3 for two weeks (2,500Km so far) I will not be using Autopilot until it comes out of beta. I find that it acts like a frightened rabbit slamming on the brakes or violently turning the car. It also wants to sit close to the...
