    Boot opening

I would be asking them to look into that further. The O ring was for the powered strut on later models. I have a feeling you’ve been done over on this one and the issue you’re suffering is the exact reason the recall was put in place.

    Supercharger team sacked?

So Elon has confirmed they’re slowing SuC rollout. It’s disappointing, but I can see it. As others have pointed out, other companies have sat back on their plans to roll out rapid charging networks and have been happy to use the SuC network, instead. Why put in the effort and expense when...

    Supercharger team sacked?

This is all very much speculation, but I wonder whether the surprisingly positive reception to the latest earnings call where they focussed on everything but private car sales has bolstered Elon to go full steam ahead on AI/robotaxi/Optimus/etc. It’s certainly a bold move, if that’s the case...

    Supercharger team sacked?

I am not trying to prove anything. I have referenced an article. I know Fred can be quite negative about Tesla, however this article is from a different contributor and he makes reference to an internal email at Tesla mentioning the layoffs. I struggle to see how Tesla can maintain a similar...

I wonder if by Gatwick they mean the 4x SuC at the Gridserve forecourt or the Gatwick SC? Either way, with the SuCs being significantly cheaper than the alternatives, they are going to be even more hammered than they already are with all the cabs.

Interesting news/rumour from Electrek today saying Tesla has sacked its ~500 strong Supercharger team. Apparently they will finish building the sites in progress, but no new ones will be going in. https://electrek.co/2024/04/29/tesla-conducting-more-layoffs-including-entire-supercharger-team/...

    UK Pricing piss take

Seeing as we’re looking at the EU, not the US, here’s some figures: UK average income (2022): £34963 Spain average income (2022): €29113 That’s from Statistica.com Current exchange rate is £1 = €1.16 so that Spanish income is around £25.1k. Everything is considerably cheaper in Spain to...

    UK Pricing piss take

It would be worth comparing the prices of the cars to the average/median income of the people in the countries. A Tesla may be cheaper in Spain, but people also generally earn a lot less, over there. We can afford to pay more as we get paid more, so that will be factored into the price. Works...

I’ve been using the Zappi IO integration since it first became available and have found it the best way to go about it. Just bear in mind you are setting a % of charge to add, not a charge limit. So don’t just leave it on 80% if you only need 20 or 30%.

Charging schedules are generated based on previous charging speeds. As you’d had a slower charge rate previously, it mapped the charge based on the slower speed. As your more recent charge was at the faster 32A rate, you should find future charge schedules will be based on the faster charge...

I can only vouch for this anecdotally, but my driveway is on a slight incline and it seemed to me like the lights were slightly high after the adaptive lights update. I “recalibrated” by going into the light calibration screen on a flat surface and that seemed to improve things. Possibly.

I’d just point out that with the Zappi integration, the % you set is “Charge to add” rather than a target SoC. So don’t just leave it on 80% or similar if you only generally need 20% or 30%. If you do this, you’ll be given far more charging slots than you actually need and could be seen to be...

You should, yes. Put the Zappi in Eco+ mode and IO will push through smart boosts to carry out its schedule. Also make sure there’s no schedules set in the car. You don’t have to delete the Zappi schedules, as long as they are deactivated.

    2024 Insurance Costs

    Intelligent Octopus connection woes

There’s no need to set the Zappi to fast for IO to work. Leave it in Eco+ mode. IO schedules will be created pretty quickly if you plug in later in the day, however may not appear immediately if you plug in before 6pm, but will generate subsequently.

I also get the indicator when the issue manifests. It feels like the car starts taking the off-ramp, realises it shouldn’t be then indicates to change back onto the motorway and swerves back to the original lane, but it all happens very quickly and erratically.

AP jerking to the left then swerving back to the right when passing junctions has been happening to me for years. Curiously, it doesn’t happen in Spain. There’s something about the layout of UK motorway junctions than confuses AP.

Yes. You’ll integrate via the Zappi, so IO won’t interact with the Tesla directly.

As it says “Charge limit” it means you’re using the Tesla integration. You could try disconnecting your car in the IO settings and set it up again but when it asks how to connect, select charger rather than car. If you select Zappi first, it’ll integrate via that. Be mindful it will also ask...

Rather than using the Tesla integration, why don’t you try linking IO to the Zappi? The IO-Zappi integration works very well and is more reliable than the Tesla integration, as the Zappi tends to have a more reliable connection to the internet and the API just seems to be more reliable in general.

I don’t know. I’m unaware of the statement you’re referring to. You will receive the full charge schedule at the off-peak rate, despite this having been as a result of the car having a low charging rate set. There are various ways to game the tariff to obtain increased off-peak slots, however these are clearly morally wrong.
